Mel Gibson Vs Clint Eastwood

Mel Gibson Vs Clint Eastwood

Here’s a Hollywood rumble that would make for a great match. For this match, we’ll ignore their personal issues, as that would greatly reduce Mel’s chance at winning. Instead, focus on the characters these two have played, as well as the movies they’ve directed.

This is truly a heavyweight battle in which only one can emerge – and I have a feeling I already know who the winner will be…

“There are two types of people in the world my friend – those with guns, and those who dig…You dig”

Who wins?

A loutish Australian who cannot handle his drink versus Clint Eastwood, the definition of manliness. It is somewhat obvious from previous discussions that I’m a die hard Clint Eastwood fan, so in lieu of boisterous and wholly subjective weight throwing I’ll depart with one name:

    “Unforgiven”

The greatest Western of all time.

The man is in his late seventies (When most of us will be lucky to have our original Hips), yet he continues to pump out one Oscar nominated film after another like some powerhouse of talent, getting better as he gets older. Showing younger Directors how to star, direct and produce several films per year and still come out as a man at the end of the day.

Mel Gibson? Following his Anti-Semitic rant he’s lucky to even have a career.

    Clint, no question about it.

    -Man with no name
    -“Dirty” Harry
    -Million Dollar Baby
-Letter from Iwo Jima / Flags of Our Fathers
    -Gran Torino

I wasn’t a huge fan of “Million Dollar Baby” but Eastwood still is and will be one of the actors/directors I will remember to tell my grandchildren about also James Earl Jones, Christopher Lee, Christopher Walken, Morgan Freeman, Tome Hanks (mainly for Gump) and quite a few others are on that list as well…(and like all old people I will also be able to tell them about how my generation was better and that their new fangled technology is destroying their society.)

Also; Grand Torino was awesome, I doubted it a first but was utterly blown away…

Gibson is OK, but Eastwood has a resume that has the words “epic” stamped all over it.

    Tome Hanks…great spelling error.

God I wish spell checker had a “common sense” feature….

Does Mel feel lucky punks? Meh, he’ll still get his ass handed to him. Eastwood could even make The Duke sweat bucket loads if he wanted to… That’s saying a lot.

    Gibson?……yeah right.

Eastwood, other than the fact he’s an original badass, is a film genius.

Man With No Name, Dirty Harry, Kelly’s Heroes, Heartbreak Ridge, Unforgiven, Space Cowboys, Million Dollar Baby, Letters From Iwo Jima, Flags Of Our Fathers, Gran Torino…….just pure genius.

Hush. You don’t know what you are talking about.

“The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” is not a Western.

It’s perfection. Although if you’re not a fan of the Western, Eastwood has participated in other genres with mostly high degrees of success with each project.

I remember when I would watch some western shows with my grandma… Classic Turner Movies or something? They were alright… but I don’t exactly remember who or what was in them.

God help any Jews that get in Gibson’s way.

“They were alright… but I don’t exactly remember who or what was in them.”

Just do a little search on spaghetti westerns and you’ll be refreshed. If that doesn’t suit you, just go and rent the Unforgiven.

If you were to watch only one western ever, I would suggest that one. It will sum everything up very nicely for you.

Clint vs Mel the Jew Hater? I think Clint won this WAAAYY before this even began. He’s the epitome of bad-ass and manliness!
