As in any battle against Sephiroth the opponent needs to be invincible or almost god-like in powers. All that can be said for Masaki is that some of his powers aren’t defined yet, and his abilities seem to emerge to save him when the battle seems lost.
Either way, it’d be an interesting match to see.
Who wins?
As much as i want Tenchi to win this one, i think sephiroth will win cause of his experience and power.
Thanks for accepting my request!
I think that Tenchi Masaki from Tenchi Muyo! (Ryo-Ohki) would ultimately be victorious.
Doesn’t he have that hyperdimensional deity essence thing that’s more powerful than the chousin(sp?)? At the very least i know for sure that he can block planet destroying energy attacks with his light hawk wings.
That said I’ve only watched the Tenchi cartoons (no manga) and I’m not well informed about Sephiroths capabilities other than he was kinda hard in KH2.
Yeah, Tenchi (talking about the OVA series) has the power of the light hawk wings, but that’s primairly a defensive weapon, although it can be used for offensive also but Tenchi is too inexperienced to handle it correctly to fight of an enemy like sephiroth.
Sephiroth is highly knowledged of battles because he was design a solider . That Giant sword will possibly make it afar ranged fence and his wings create an air assault. Not to mention his powers to make him nearly invincible
Question: Does Sephiroth’s Super Nova really make stars explode or is it just for theatrics?
Just to clarify, I’m pretty sure that Sephiroth has the advantage until Tenchi Muyo in the Ryo-Ohki OVAs episodes 19-20.
It was a somewhat confusing conclusion but basically a part of Tenchi > the omnipotent and omniscient immortal hyperdimensional beings (Washu, Tsunami, and Tokimi). He is apparently what they were looking for: the anomaly that would potentially create a being more powerful than the three”goddesses”. He got cut in half, mind warped, and the third dimension almost fell apart but Tenchi saves the day (and the Tenchi Muyo! OVA universe’s version of gods). He then proceeds to save the day again in his lowly human form by teleporting into space and blocking the planet destroying laser.
Light Hawk Wings as used by Tenchi seem mostly defensive but its energy can be utilized for offensive purposes such as material conversion (which he uses to defeat Kagato and his ship), the shenanigans of Z, and GXP’s (yes its part of the Tenchi Muyo! OVA canon) mecha that created mini black holes and a bunch of other ranged attacks.
All the other versions would get omgwtfbbqpwnd by Sephiroth though.
The über version of the guy you just said would make seporith pissed because he left the water on at home, nothing more.
Sephiroth would just teleport behind Renchi and slice him in half.
I don’t really know anything about Tenchi Masaki but from what i read i’d still say Sephiroth would win hands down his Light Hawk Wings may be able stop Planet destroying energy beams but if it came to it Sephiroth would use meteor as a destraction and while Tenchi was dealing with that Sephiroth would do as the guy above said and teleport behind him and cut him in half.
sephiroth would play around for a while then decide to go one winged angel and supernova all at one and blow the crap out of tenchi
Sephiroth can be easily dispatched by a human with limited magical ability, whereas it would take the undoing of time and space to defeat Tenchi without any of the “untapped powers” he still didn’t need to use. I’m pretty sure almost all of these answers are fanboy/fangirl responses as Sephiroth has no qualities that would make him superior to Tenchi in any way.
@obvious guy
u realise that sephiroth can make suns explode and when he was defeated it was buy lots of people not just cloud…..and cloud isnt just someone with limited magical ability he is an extremely good warrior that can use materia
also tenchi would have no where near as much experience as seph
so theres another advantage
and sephiroth is very ferocious and would not take more than 1 minute at the maximum to kill tenchi… you might actually want to find out what the characters can do before you make a call
and if you do intend to research tenchi.. even on wiki it says that he is a competant swordsman and is too young and immature to control his light hawk wings abilities and they usually arise in dire situations..
sephiroth could kill tenchi so fast he wouldnt be able to see that he was in a fight
From the Final Fantasy Wiki (Wikia) it says that the Super Nova animation Sephiroth uses which destroys the sun is just for artistic awesomeness (similar to Fei”s Big Bang in Xenogears). According to the wiki, the original Japanese version of Super Nova animation was just some sort of space vortex explosion.
The power of an actual super nova is comparable to the powers of Ryoko’s (Chousin/goddess Washu’s) gems and Ryo-Ohki (the ship) which is itself stated to having the power of super novas in the GXP series.
Even when Tenchi was less skilled in his abilities, Tenchi was able to surpass and kill Kagato while being continuously drained by the Soja at the same rate that neutralized Ryoko’s gems, and Tsunami- the Juraian superbattleship created and controlled by the incarnation of the goddess Tsunami (and technically Sasami).
Tenchi had a pretty insane “limit break” by episode 19-20 Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki. His hyperdimensional avatar surpasses the Tenchi Muyo! (Ryo-Ohki, GXP, OVA) universe’s equivalent of God (the 3 Chousin). The Chousin themselves dictates the very fabric of space, time, and existence (yes including your soul)- deity Tenchi saved them without any effort.
*But then again he hardly controlled that deity form. It was similar to a Deus ex Machina but with the deus technically being himself.
At the very least Tenchi has an advantage in cutting range (he cut apart the Soja in ONE slice) and potential energy output.
He would be at a disadvantage in combat experience and perhaps indirect methods of attack from final fantasy (lol sleep).
To me, what is unclear is endurance (how do Tenchi’s light hawk wings and regeneration compare to Sephiroth’s?) and agility (Sephiroth is fast but according to GXP Tenchi is also fast but that’s after the episode 19-20 Ryo-Ohki incident).
**Note** the above statements were based upon the quality of the translation of the episodes that I watched in the past 2 months. Since the Ryo-Ohki OVAs and GXP series are part of the same canon, I assumed statements of power in that series carried on to the previous series. Furthermore, I assumed this fight is an actual duel in which both opponents understand that they must fight each other to the death and are at least aware of the opponent’s presence (though not necessarily the location). Hence I assume both are combat ready.
*is very biased* Come on, seriously, anybody could kick fagphiroth’s ass and from everything I have read on Tenchi Masaki across other vs. forums, he absolutely molests that horrendously overrated overhyped overgrown emo piece of shit they call a video game character. Dante vs. an ant would have been a far closer battle and those two could have kicked fagphiroth’s ass in less than a second.
ummm again I dont know alot about Tenchi Masaki but to be honested he’d have to be some seriously overpowered guy to win. Hmmm personally I think this would be over in seconds with Tenchi Masaki’s blood and body parts all over where they were fighting.
@Hamonlord do you even care about the fight or did you just come here with the sole perpose of talking crap about Seph’ because it looks like you took the later option. eitherway there was no need as you brought nothing to the conversation.
@ cyborg pirate ninja jesus
tenchi’s LHW’s occur from extreme dire situations, kagato and Z had sliced tenchi and even when Z has sliced tenchi apart with the literal power of the gods. tenchi directed the firepower back. tenchi is literally immortal. And destroying suns pale in comparison if the near death of tenchi can bring the universe to ruin or that his LHW’s can pull you out of black holes. The fact that tenchi cannot die. And if Z (who has the ability to create as well destroy worlds) cannot kill tenchi then how can sephiroath?
Tenchi with little effort.
Tenchi will win atfer taken a good beaten and blocking some attacks with then sword tenchi. then tenchi would release his light hawk wings with matter conversion ability. then sethiroth would do one winged angel and mad berserk thing.then tenchi will somehow still be able to beat him.
Tenchi totally WTFstomps sephiroth.
Tenchis 6 LHWs multiple the possiblitity of an attack succeding by 0 the LHWs defend the wielder on there own. LHWs cannot be damaged and cant be destroyed, the possess infinite unlimited power. a black hole was unable to harm tenchi when he had 3 LHWs, he currently has 6.
LHWs come in teirs.
once you have 2 LHWs a total universal collapse isnt enough to kill you. It would have taken the destruction of a universe to temporalily immobilize z,and he was only using 3 LHWs at the moment. Sephiroth cant even imagine the amount or damage hed need to pump out to even contend with 1 LHW, but it would matter since it would be impossible to match infinte unlimited power. hell 11 LHWs destroy the universe simply because they exist.
tenchi has been trained in swordsmanship since he could hold a wooden blade. tenchi is just a pacifist. sephiroth is a hardcore warrior meaning he’ll be relentless, but all his attacks would meet LHWs. all tenchi has to do is hit him once and sephiroth dies.
Tenchi rapestomps Sephiroth.
i mean when you can block planet busting attacks….what is sephy suppose to attack with.
How could I miss this? Hahaha. Tenchi rapes Sephiroth either through speedblitz (he’s either thousands of times FTL or can teleport instantly to wherever he wants, or both), or just by slicing him in half. LHW not only multiply any attacks by 0, they do the same to the opponent’s defense. Sephiroth has no way of damaging him, no way of defending himself. He’s a goner in seconds.
“It would have taken the destruction of a universe to temporalily immobilize z,and he was only using 3 LHWs at the moment.”
He was using 2, by the way. Originally had 5, used 3 of his own to seal away Tenchi’s 3 and remained with 2 of his own. Everything else is correct.
So Masaki vs Haseo from the world of .hack, anyone?
Or must more thought be seriously be put in place before anyone tries the idea, kind of like having Skywalker vs Mr. Potter, except potentially worse since the latter can go head to head with Mr. Potter in an even fight, if all conditions are settled?
Or even Tenchi vs Kharn, so we can see Kharn get blown up, as Officer N.Z would like to see, personally?
I laughed so hard at this thread
–
People call Kharn wanked, when people here think Sephiroth can win here?
–
Pfft yeah everythings been said. Tenchi rapestomps Sephiroth so hard its not even funny and ten solos every FF universe in existance with no effort
Why isn’t Masaki in more BankGambling fights, still?
Because hed rape almost everyone below TOAA levels. Whoever suggested this either:
–
A: Suggested this as a spite thread against Sephiroth
B: Was deluded enough to believe Sephiroth could win
or
C: Suggested this to see if Sephiroth’s fans would defend him against a vastly superior opponent (aka Method of Test)
–
Either way Tenchi rapestomps every FF universe at the same time. The end
Tenchi for the colossal rapestomp award!
@StealthRanger
“Tenchi for the colossal rapestomp award!”
–
Tenchi for CR-Award + 1,000,000.
^ this
Tenchi for CR-Award + 1,000,001
–
You’ve just been 1-uped
I need to watch me some Tenchi Muyo
I was going to watch it but like I said in another thread I hate over powered people, they tend to piss me off for:
–
Being boring with no possible competition
or
–
Being Stupid and constantly holding back their power
Also Sephiroth looks pretty badass in that image, so if for nothing else he gets the”I look cooler than you” award
@Amm0
Let’s look on the bright side.
If Post-NJO Luke
(to a far lesser degree, but it exists)killed the Moron on Side B, it might mean that if Original!-Tenchi and Post-NJO Luke have a vs fight against each other the following:It might make for a FP 2-man One-Winged Slayer War going on, which would make the fight all the more entertaining, really!
Awesome is as Awesome does.
@Amm0vamp1r3 in post #33

Tenchi’s more a case of “fighting *really* isn’t the point of this manga/show”.
–
Besides, how a character ranks Vs other settings is irreverent, they can only really be “over powered” Vs the people/things in their own setting, and the people/things in he’s own setting are just/nearly as God-like as him, he only becomes truly just flat out “God” at the end, and even that was technically his future self popping back in time to LOL the universe ending.
–
Are to put it another way, channelers in Wheel of Time may be Hax, but as their mainly only fight other channelers…. It doesn’t really count as “over powered”.
What are you talking about? And what does luke have to do with anything?
“God” at the end, and even that was technically his future self popping back in time to LOL the universe ending.”
–
And this isn’t OP?
@Amm0vamp1r3
“And this isn’t OP?”
–
There are like three omnipotent goddesses in the setting(who made him as the whole “rock even we can’t lift” thing), and a *lot* “just a few steps down from that” beings running around.
–
Like I said, you can’t judge “over powered” Vs other settings, and he only become “God” at the end, past that, the story was over, he married all the girls, and lived happily ever after….. Because you know, “God”, just *try* to tell him he didn’t, I dare you.
I am not seeing how this isn’t OP, even when I am basing it off of its own setting, even if that was the end….
Like I said, a thing can be OP if theirs other things, a lot of them even, that are ether just or nearly as powerful as it, and he didn’t become top dog until the end, after which, there was no story for him to be OP in(well, there might of been a spin off or two, but nothing focusing on him).
“a thing can be OP if theirs other things”>a thing can’t be OP if theirs other things
Even if it is the end, OP is OP, like the other person I was Talking about Lucifer Mornigstar, OP guy from what I have seen but because he is in the DC verse where there are alot of powerful things, he isn’t OP?
–
I don’t buy it.
Where does that leave 616 Sorcerer Supreme Strange, dare I ask?
@Amm0vamp1r3
“Even if it is the end, OP is OP, like the other person I was Talking about Lucifer Mornigstar, OP guy from what I have seen but because he is in the DC verse where there are alot of powerful things, he isn’t OP?

–
No, in LMS case “because he’s a cosmic force, who isn’t a main character, and doesn’t show up a hell of a lot because of that, he isn’t OP”.
–
If you didn’t read DC because of him, you’d also have to not read any fiction at all that even hints at having a “God” character.
–
Tenchi isn’t OP, bwecause the guys he fights in the story are every bit as powerful as him, and when he get’s to God-hood, the story stops.
–
To call that OP, is to call every story with anything that>>>>>the Real World “OP”, and if that’s how you judge it, and you don’t like OP, then good luck finding any Sci-Fi or Fantasy settings *to* like.
–
To say nothing of the whole “this is all coming from one of the more vocal Alucard supporters on the site” thing.
“If you didn’t read DC because of him, you’d also have to not read any fiction at all that even hints at having a “God” character.”
–
Its not that I don’t read DC because of him, I don’t read DC period, I just couldn’t see myself getting into him as a character because of his power because as I said before many times I like my people street level not mulitverse wipers
–
“Tenchi isn’t OP, bwecause the guys he fights in the story are every bit as powerful as him, and when he get’s to God-hood, the story stops.”
–
Just because the story stopped doesn’t make him any less OP.
–
“To call that OP, is to call every story with anything that>>>>>the Real World “OP”, and if that’s how you judge it, and you don’t like OP, then good luck finding any Sci-Fi or Fantasy settings *to* like.”
–
Not a big fan of Sci- Fi actually for many of those reasons, more of a classic dark ages guy. I admit some people and franchises I like get OP, like Vampire Hunter D for example but I like it because it has vampires and the story and imagery gets interesting.
–
”
To say nothing of the whole “this is all coming from one of the more vocal Alucard supporters on the site” thing. ”
–
And Alucard is OP how? The guy could barely take down a bulding, he is high teir street level with a extreme HF but as shown many times he can be taken to school quite handily
