Link Vs Jack of Blades

Link Vs Jack of Blades

Another great match that we’ll never see in the gaming realm. So, knowing what each fighter brings to the table, I think this fight would last for some time before Link takes the victory. It wouldn’t be easy or quick, but Link just has too many options available to him.

What do you think?

    Interesting.
With the Sword of Aeons this fight may just go to Jack. Jack is very powerful in close combat, and his spells make it harder for Link to keep up a coherent assault.
Similarly, his ranged combat is especially potent. One of the moves he uses during his second stage (that annoying firecracker move) drains the Hero of Oakvale’s health incredibly quickly. Provided there is no cover, this move would result in a very quick fight.

However, Link is no pushover. Both the Master Sword and Light Arrows would come into play in this contest, as both a designed to destroy evil.
Even if he won, Link may still fall to the crafty Jack of Blades; we all know how fond Link is of putting on random masks he picks up.

hmm not sure who jack of blades is every time i search him i get that old crappy tv show with bruce cambell(like the actor hate the show)jack of all trades. so until someone posts a few links on him or posts some good info i will hold back my opinion. although even just out of the gate in this one im leaning toward link

jack of blades if i am not mistaken is the guy from fable 1 that has that mask of death

the person u must comfront at the end of the game to beat the game

  4. hellatus March 26, 2009 at 11:58 pm -      #4

Btw jack of blades isnt the toughest dark evil guy i could think of. Link has this one covered

  5. El Zilcho March 27, 2009 at 1:14 am -      #5

Information on Jack of Blades isn’t that wide spread. Other then playing through Fable/Lost Chapters, the best information is on fable.wikia.com
These pages give the best information on him

    fable.wikia.com/wiki/Jack_of_Blades
    fable.wikia.com/wiki/The_Court
    fable.wikia.com/wiki/William_Black
    fable.wikia.com/wiki/The_Hero_of_Oakvale

Despite the relative ease with which Jack can be beaten in Fable 1, that’s more because of the extreme overpowered state which you can get The Hero then because of any weakness Jack possesses (slow time + berserk + multistrike + Solus Greatsword)

@kano547: fable.wikia.com/wiki/Jack_of_Blades This link should help you find more info on Jack of Blades.

I think that Link should win this match without too much difficulty, Jack of Blades is probably similar strength to Zant from Twilight Princess(possibly even a bit weaker), so Link should be able to beat him.

Link has got this one if I’m not mistaken. Hes defeated far stronger enemies than Jack of Blades. I have beaten Fable/ lost chapters and killed him without much difficulty but like El Zilcho said, my character was ridiculously powerful because I killed EVERYBODY even when I didn’t have to. But there is also the fact that Link is much stronger than the main character at the end of Fable 1 for even the best player. Plus he has all his little toys and ninja reflexes. The master sword, light arrow, and mirror shield would come into play because all magic that Jack threw at Link would be thrown back and the light arrow and master sword are designed to kill evil. As for the evils of the mask, I think that even if Link put it on Jacks mask i doubt he would succumb to his power. Link has more mental strength than that.

On a side note. It would indeed be bitchin for Link to wield the Sword of Aeons.

  9. El Zilcho March 28, 2009 at 4:15 am -      #9

I would argue that the Hero of Fable 1 is more powerful then Link. First off, the man is three times as big as Link, but just as fast. And while he may not have access to such a huge arsenal of weapons, he more then makes up for it with his repertoire of magically abilities; the nastiest of which are the Slow Time and Assassin’s Rush abilities.

  10. Scenario March 29, 2009 at 9:44 am -      #10

Link wore the Fierce Diety mask as a child and did not fall under it’s evil influence. In fact, he controlled it. That mask is hinted to be more powerful than Majora’s mask, especially when you beat him so easily with it.

Link has the ability to stop time as of Phantom Hourglass. His mirror shield can return any magical attacks, and if that doesn’t work, the master sword would surely send it back.

Master sword, light arrows, mirror sheild, oni sword ( forget its name), great fairy sword, magic, These tools are all the tools suitable for jack to die by the sword. Since the sword and arrows are meant to destroy evil. Btw doesnt jack die by the hero which can be shaped to be anyone you want him to be

  12. FierceDeity888 April 29, 2009 at 4:29 pm -      #12

Link would own this. He has power far beyond Jack’s.

  13. Dark Lord Selrahc April 29, 2009 at 11:43 pm -      #13

Even the most powerful heroes Albion had to offer were terrified of Jack. Link might be powerful but he is only human while Jack’s no mortal person, he isn’t even a human. The Oracle in Snowspire tells the hero, “from the age before man when demons roamed the earth that were so powerful that your darkest nightmares could only begin suggest, even then Jack was old.”

I would say that it’s anyone’s fight. Jack and Link are both extremely powerful, so we may never know who is stronger.

  14. jack of blades June 17, 2009 at 1:06 am -      #14

jack would so win because if you think about it he has the oldest blade, cant die, and can take over peoples bodies and i doubt link could withstand jacks mask mind takeover

  15. david June 17, 2009 at 2:38 am -      #15

    @ jack of blades

Nayru’s love creates a magical sheild imperious to everything

  16. DivineChaos88 June 17, 2009 at 3:21 am -      #16

Jack CAN die. Link overcame the Fierce Deity’s mask, which would’ve taken control of ANYONE else, and kept control. There is no way Jack could take control of Link. Link could win through sheer immortality.

  17. Zachalink June 22, 2009 at 11:05 pm -      #17

Also link has countless barrers to prevent being attacked for example the cain of brynia which can not only block against enemy attacks, but also hurt anyone who gets to close. Link also has many evil slaying wepons such as his master sword and light arrows. so link pwns jack of blades.

  18. AHEM June 27, 2009 at 1:26 pm -      #18

Jack is undoubtedly a dangerous opponent, but a hero of Link’s caliber would very likely be the end of him.

Firstly, as has been brought up, Jack’s evil nature will make him more vulnerable to the master sword, light arrows, and silver arrows. Link also has several ways to deflect Jack’s magical attacks, not the least of which would be the Mirror Shield. At the same time, Link will be returning fire with arrows crafted to repel evil, which will drain Jack’s health very quickly.

In close quarters combat, the Sword of Aeons could be a bit of a problem for Link. A direct hit with that sucker would probably do the same damage as a direct swing from an Iron Knuckle’s axe. That being said, I think the fancy sword moves that Link learns in Twilight Princess would make him too mobile for Jack to easily get a hit on. Warriors in fable aren’t very quick moving, actually, and tend to fall over when hit by a strong attack. While Jack would be a dangerous enemy and pack quite a punch, I think in the end Link’s superior speed would win a sword fight.

Link’s magical equipment will be the final nail in Jack’s coffin, if only for the defense factor of Link covering himself with numerous magical shields and then closing in.

I agree that Link picking up and putting on Jack’s mask is a likely outcome. However, I am of the opinion that he would be able to resist the corruption of it and possibly control Jack’s powers. Link is a powerful, pure-hearted hero who has the Triforce of Courage, and being able to resist the divine influence of the Fierce Deity’s mask is a strong indicator of Link’s fortitude. It would be interesting to see, though.

  19. John Anen November 16, 2009 at 4:32 pm -      #19

Link has lots of healing potions and fairies and stuff. Heavy damage from the Sword of Aeons would barely slow him down. Meanwhile, his magic will destroy Jack.

Jack is an idiot during gameplay. Yeah, he’s crafty in the story and such, but in the actual fight, he just floats in the air in plain view during the final battle and lets you shoot at him, while returning his own fire. This would be the perfect opportunity for Link to obliterate him with light arrows or something.

  20. AHEM December 6, 2009 at 8:18 pm -      #20

This could be a good situation for Link to get Jack into, but remember that he doesn’t assume this strategy until he’s lost a good portion of his health, and he possesses some pretty nasty attacks at that point that might chew through quite a few hearts pretty quickly.

okay i have a few things to say

jack turns into giant 10xstronger dragon might prove verry difficult for link

link is an idiot he would just put jacks mask on and once that mask is on it dosent come off (i’ve tried everything on fable to remove the mask its permanant) which means link is the new jack of blades aka link of blades aka supergay knife wimp

  22. jay666 March 8, 2010 at 4:11 am -      #22

seriously when link has beaten jack he will be pretty worn out right, but that isnt the end of jack link is all worn out then out of archons shrine comes this giant fire breatheing dragon that will eat whats left of link. link is pwnd, i is laughing ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha don,t underestimate jack of blades he is really crafty there is a reason he owns the arena in the knotthole area

jack dragon form is pretty strong with link so weak from fighting jack of blades(jack form) dragon jack is pretty likely to win

does this fight have revival items and if so is there a cap on how many they can have

  28. Darkbladex96 March 16, 2010 at 11:04 pm -      #28

jack also can shapeshift into a dragon. his only feats from fable are teleportation over an unknown distance, effortlessly summon endless hordes of demons from the void take can apper anywhere he wishes. also he must have some sort of long range sense as proven by his ability, summon demons where ever they are needed. he is also a master of multiple will powers. he is capable of flight/levitation, can shot waves of magic from the sword of aoens and can use dashes of supersonic speed.

however where he lacks in feats theres lore to give use a small idea of what we can expect of him. jack is a being of the void and posses great power.

“It was revealed by the Tales of Albion that Jack of Blades came from a place called the Void. It is also revealed that he had come with the Queen of Blades and the Knight of Blades (together known as The Court). He and the others are said to have demanded that the people of Albion bow down before them. When they were refused, the court “burned Albion until the earth turned black and the sky was thick with smoke”. When the people refused a second time, they lifted the sea into the sky and flooded the world. The third time they demanded worship they said they would bring peace, but again the people refused, so the court twisted their minds until they went insane. Finally, the inhabitants bowed to the court.”

usually things like this are considered hyperbole unless, the character in question is an immortal from another plane of existance. jack is part of a three person group, so its safe to assume that he can evoke powers at 1/3 that level.

the sword of aeons has high regenerative properties. link may have items but jacks magic maybe unlimited, and very spammable. assassins ruch cause thunder crackles, and the only things every to kill jack where the hero of oakvale and the sword of aeons, both or godly origin. link is gonna have a hell of a time, hitting jack or staying close.

    Jack would own him

  34. Flagro October 11, 2010 at 12:07 pm -      #34

Link would own him, Jack was ridiculously easy IIRC correctly ,even as a dragon, Though I guess the Solus Greatsword and Slow Time ( and all those other extremely deadly spells ). Still, the Master Sword would probably do a lot more damage to him than the Solus Greatsword or Avo’s Tear/Sword of Aeons ( those were weaker, right? ), because it is specifically designed to slay evil.

  35. BroBro October 12, 2010 at 2:04 pm -      #35

Link likes dick so Jack would kick the sh*t out of him

  36. BroBro October 12, 2010 at 2:12 pm -      #36

End of story Jack would kill Link cause Jack and his bro and sis alone destroyed all of Albion 3 times b4 the old kingdom so suck it lol and if u dont belive me go read Tails of Albion

  37. Kravockian November 4, 2010 at 2:39 pm -      #37

Jack of blades would win one power that no one has attributed to jack yet is the nasty little slow time and assassin step he does, I think it would be a decisive win for jack he would simply slow time summon his minoins and use ghost swords so when he hit link he gets two additional free hits. Honestly I think that if jack hadn’t been so focused on getting the sword he could have simply killed the hero pretty easily instead of floating in the center of the guild hall. So I guess without the sword of aoens it would go to jack, if he was obsessed with the sword link would win because of the lame float in the center so all you have to do is shoot arrows at him. (ironic huh?) then however link would have to fight dragon jack and would die quickly after.

  38. Kravockian November 4, 2010 at 2:42 pm -      #38

BTW! let’s not forget that only the hero’s blood line is capable of killing jack.

  39. Gazuba November 4, 2010 at 5:39 pm -      #39

Jack of Blades is part of the court, yet he is in possession of the other 2 masks; it is safe to assume that, since Jack is from the Void, he would be able to control the power of those two masks. Jack, as we are all basing our opinion of the fight on the boss battle in Fable, would almost certainly be defeated by Link, who has so many options available to him. However, if we are to consider that Jack fights more through guile and allies more than anything else, it would be safe to assume that link would be defeated by Jacks cunning and general power; furthermore, what the Hero faced in the chamber of heroes was only a portion of Jacks might (the reason having already being put forward by Kravockian). Jack of Blades is all together a much more deadly adversary than any Link would have faced before; were the two to fight on even terms in a straight up duel using all of their abilities Jack would win.

  40. Kravockian November 6, 2010 at 10:15 am -      #40

I honestly believe that Jack has this one in the bag, I understand that link has more options but Jack has a bag of tricks too. I also can’t see link being able to handle the summoned minoins and the assassin’s rush ghost sword combo, that combination alone would have link dealing with some nasty wounds. Not to mentions Jack could use Assassins rush to dodge, just some very nasty combo’s to deal with, Versatility may be great but with so many optinos is it an advantage or a disadvantage? Jack has a small aresanal but uses it with such expertise I don’t think he could really struggle with link.

  41. Chicken Chaser November 23, 2010 at 10:16 pm -      #41

I persnally believe Jack would win.

Rerember earlier in the Fable storyline Your sister, Theresa gives you a “Gift”.

Link would not have this gift, an this gift evidently is what the Hero of Oakvale needed to be able to Slay Jack.

  42. Chicken Chaser November 23, 2010 at 10:19 pm -      #42

And Jack of course would use this line, “Fool, I have existed for millennia, it is impossible for you to comprehend what I am!”

  43. jarikbaenrae June 14, 2011 at 4:22 am -      #43

simply put even if link were to be able to defeat jack in battle he would simply take his mask and put it on like he does with ALL of the other masks he has ever gotten and jacks soul would invade his body and take over………. so im afraid link cant win this one due to his affinity for masks

  44. Lowk August 12, 2011 at 2:49 am -      #44

Which link is this and couldn’t Jack just assassin’s rush behind Link then stab him through the back?

  45. OriginalA August 12, 2011 at 3:25 am -      #45

WW/PH was the current Link when this was posted due to PH being released in 07. Spirit Tracks is the now current having been released in Christmas 09.

If we use the former Link wins; the latter, Jack wins. Pretty much that simple, and mostly because of the answer to your question. The former: no. The later: yes.

  46. Lowk August 12, 2011 at 3:39 am -      #46

“If we use the former Link wins; the latter, Jack wins. Pretty much that simple, and mostly because of the answer to your question. The former: no. The later: yes.”

    Well that is simple.
Maybe I should try suggesting one of the Main hero vs Link again. That seems like a more complicated fight.

  47. orber August 12, 2011 at 4:00 am -      #47

If you mean the Hero from the first Fable…that’s gonna be pretty nasty for Link. Its been years since I played it but I remember he could fuck around with time with his own powers and the timemagic+berserk+multistrike was a nasty combo if I remember.

  48. OriginalA August 12, 2011 at 4:02 am -      #48

I guess it might actually be OoT Link again with OoT 3D. It had some minor changes to it. Shiekha stones and visions of the future (hint guides that show the player where to go and what to do if they are lost) were added. Random bits of Skyward Sword artwork was added (that’s coming up this christmas too). Stone of Agony to Shard of Agony. Not much else though.

I guess it depends on whether or not you count it as a remake or a port. A remake overwriting previous canon and a port being the same. Personally I see it as a port with extras; like LttP GBA (although that did have one retcon that has significant implications to ganon theories)

  49. Lowk August 12, 2011 at 4:19 am -      #49

I’m not quite sure yet. At one point I was thinking Fable 3 Hero vs TP Link or Oot Link. Then I thought of All three vs three versions of Link, but I’m not sure on which ones or weapon layout though. Maybe TP, OoT, and PH(I think this was the one with the 3 time thing) Links.

“Maybe I should try suggesting one of the Main hero vs Link again. That seems like a more complicated fight. ”

If you do, please think about which Link you want him to fight and make it part of the match description that it is THAT specific Link that is in the fight. Personally I think that WW/PH Link could handle anything Fable could throw at him. He is very badass despite being one of the cutest versions of Link.

  51. Jack August 14, 2011 at 2:37 am -      #51

jack of blades is a god, who is practically immortal, but what I’m hearing is that Link is immortal too?

  52. Xikem April 8, 2013 at 10:32 pm -      #52

Im surprised no one has put this in but if we go with the four sword link then jack of blades in both forms has to deal with not just one but four of farore’s chosen. Not to mention that the four sword is also considered to be a holy sword so just one link does heavy damage to jack. And in all actuality link CAN die, its just the profile of link that is immortal sense in hyrules history link is constantly reincarnated. that still does not change that link would win sense he would always come back whenever jack or some other evil will rise

  53. Xikem April 8, 2013 at 10:36 pm -      #53

and for those who say that link is gay keep in mind that in those times there wasn’t hoodies or crap like that so it is probably considered straight among that time period.

  54. Xikem April 8, 2013 at 10:44 pm -      #54

I hope the second half of my first post helps with any confusion about links apparent immortality

  55. Jack o Blades May 24, 2013 at 10:54 pm -      #55

Gods are afraid of Jack of Blades, Jack is immortal, can only be killed by a special bloodline, and is extremely cunning. Jack has this is the bag.
