    “Cody Vanhook, shut yo mouth.”

Who is this Cody Vanhook you speak of? My name is Tommy Engle, I live in kentucky and my parents are away from nine to five and all day on weekends. My weaknesses are lego blocks, candy, and Halo toys. Give me those and I will follow anywhere.

See the the thing is that Bucket Head is not that good, he’s only fast. On the other hand Slash is very talented and would win.

Zach, that was retarded. Apparently you live your life around GH3. Listen to a Buckethead CD, or, better yet, just understand music.

    @Only the nose knows

Actually, I have listened to a lot of Bucket Head’s songs, but slash is a lot more well known and a lot better than him. Everybody thinks that Bucket Heads a god of guitar because he can play fast. Fast is not everything, in order to be good you need to bo talented. bucket head is not that talented.

  25. Matapiojo March 25, 2009 at 3:54 pm -      #25

The only job worth doing. The killing of scrubs.

  26. Only The Nose Knows March 25, 2009 at 4:23 pm -      #26

Not talented? At least Buckethead knows all the charts and stuff while Slash just says he plays what sounds good. As for fast playing, listen to soothsayer and see the “no speed at all” first 3 minutes

  27. The One Sin March 25, 2009 at 5:55 pm -      #27

“WTF is wrong with you sin!?”

Good question. I did not originally make that statement. A guy at school did and he quote him often.

  28. THEROCER(4)life March 25, 2009 at 6:58 pm -      #28

    YES slash owns all

  29. Zach March 25, 2009 at 8:07 pm -      #29

    @only the nose knows

I never said he wasn’t talented, I said he wasn’t that talented, huge difference. Slash is so much better and you should admit it.

  30. Only The Nose Knows March 25, 2009 at 10:06 pm -      #30

Give me 3 good reasons and I will

  31. Space marine March 25, 2009 at 10:35 pm -      #31

1 Slash won the “Best Guitarist” prize in the 2005 Esky Music Awards in Esquire magazine.

2 In January 2007, Slash was honored with a star on the Rock Walk of Fame; his name being placed alongside Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix.

3 Welcome to the Jungle” ranked #2 on Vh1’s 40 Greatest Metal Songs, #467 on the Rolling Stone Magazine list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

  32. THEROCKER(4)life March 25, 2009 at 11:26 pm -      #32

o who agrees on Slash he is more well known than a guy in a plaster mask n a bucket on his head. there is lots more character to him I kno for a fact I have jammed with him once he hated autographs so I said I wanted him to show me up read his book called slash it is amazing

  33. Matapiojo March 26, 2009 at 6:27 am -      #33

“there is lots more character to him I kno for a fact I have jammed with him”

    I LOLed hard with this!

    Thanks for that.

  34. Only The Nose Knows March 26, 2009 at 3:50 pm -      #34

Okay Space Marine, you got me. But to most of you all your just saying he’s known by more people. I don’t think Slash is bad at all, I just don’t think Buckethead gets the respect he deserves as a Guitarist. This is one with no winner I guess, well not imo at least.

  35. THEROCKER(4)LIFE March 26, 2009 at 8:01 pm -      #35

I am not lying im m kinda close through connections of my father wich was second cousin to david bowie and he dated slashs mom for a good amount of time

  36. Space marine March 26, 2009 at 9:51 pm -      #36

I just think people don’t respect people with buckets on their heads…

  37. THEROCKER(4)life March 27, 2009 at 1:15 pm -      #37

Well buckethead is good. I think he n slash is good as well but like it was already said he plays fast there is more to guitar than that for sure

  38. Only The Nose Knows March 27, 2009 at 4:56 pm -      #38

YES PEOPLE, HE PLAYS FAST, WE GET IT!!! But he’s not playing something simple at fast speeds, he’s actually doing some pretty insane charts.

  39. Thepocalypse March 27, 2009 at 6:36 pm -      #39

“I am not lying im m kinda close through connections of my father wich was second cousin to david bowie and he dated slashs mom for a good amount of time”
Lol. Biggest load of crap ever.

  40. THEROCKER(4)life March 28, 2009 at 2:09 am -      #40

Read slashs autobiography it is there i could bet me life on it that david bowie had dated slashs mom and did her as well

  41. THEROCKER(4)life March 28, 2009 at 2:10 am -      #41

He doesnt play charts he invents his own songs made up of solos, no oen does his stuff either, he made the power rangerts theme song that is it!

  42. Zach March 29, 2009 at 10:09 am -      #42

ok, I admit that Bucket Head is an awesome guitar player. He has skill. But I still don’t think he is better than Slash. We all have our opinions, this guitar battle decided who is better is all a matter of opinion. There is no best guitar player in the world. Only opinions.

  43. Bardock April 28, 2009 at 5:17 pm -      #43

Buckethead is better. Most of the people who think Slash is better use arguments like “BH had no emotion” or “He wears a stupid chicken bucket!” yet I could almost guarantee that most of these people haven’t actually listened to much of (if any) Buckethead’s massive amount of solo work. Check out the following songs by Buckethead:
    -Siege Engine
    -Nottingham Lace
    -King James
I could go on. Seriously, I honestly think that listening to Soothsayer alone is enough to change anyones mind in favor of BH but the others just reinforce it further. Also:

L.A. Weekly: I interviewed Dave Mustaine awhile back at Guitar Center Sessions and he sang your praises but then said, “Buckethead is probably twice as good a guitar player as me and Slash combined, and can stand having fried chicken rubbed up against his face all night for a couple of hours.”

Slash: Well, that is actually true. Anybody who knows me knows that technically I couldn’t play my way out of a paper bag. [Laughs] Or a Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket, for that matter. I manage to do what it is I do based on a certain kind of feel and sound. I’m getting better at it but I’ve never been what you’d call a technical guitar player so he’s totally right [laughs].

  44. VelvetLove March 2, 2010 at 11:26 am -      #44

Buckethead is a lot better. He’s more talented, more skilled, and he plays with more emotion. Colma is an album written about his mom dying of cancer. What has slash done like that? And buckethead isn’t well known in the music business? Right. That explains the 29 albums he’s released, and all the famous musicians he’s performed and recorded with.

Buckethead is very technical, and very fast, but he also plays with more emotion than Slash has felt in his whole life. Slash plays what sounds good. So does Buckethead, but buckethead plays it technically. Which is challenging. I’d like to see Slash play Big Sur Moon, Ghost, or any song of Bucketheads with as much emotion and accuracy as Buckethead has.

The only reason people think Slash is better is because he is mainstream. What about Steve Vai, Joe Satriani?
Both better than Slash, about equal to Buckethead.

Both guitarists dont use music theory in their music. I don’t care what you say, they don’t. Listen to a Buckethead song and tell me where he uses theory.

    Buckethead > Slash

  45. Gobloxx@live.com March 18, 2010 at 11:36 am -      #45

DAMN RIGHT, Buckethead Shits on slash

  46. PyroCloud August 24, 2010 at 4:44 pm -      #46

well.. in my opinion, i think slash is much better, being a guitar player is not just having a fucking great ability, but the creativity to use much less notes to make a fucking great song, buckethead plays pretty well, but i dont find any new sound coming form him, he plays a lot of notes really fast, but you can’t enjoy the solo like that, in my opinion, slash has a lot of crativity, buckethead a lot of ability
    creativity pwns ability

  47. Erik Atmard September 20, 2010 at 5:21 pm -      #47

You know that it was exactly those same words they said to Mozart. That he used to many notes, he was to “magnanimous” in his work. And he completely crushed all the ones who said it (Antonio Salieri included).

  48. mrpizzaneil December 16, 2010 at 3:15 am -      #48

Soothsayer. Thats all that needs to be said. No one should vote in this if you havnet heard it. It will blow your mind.

  49. mynameissean January 16, 2011 at 5:01 am -      #49

I am not even that big of a fan of soothsayer. But my god is Buckethead talented.
He didn’t even give these songs titles.

Buckethead does it all. Sometimes he plays with soul ala interworld/animal behaviour outro(or transmutation five when live, check out the one in warsawa from 1996), Endtime etc. etc. He plays great and catchy heavy stuff too. Jumpman, frozen brains, Final wars etc etc.

Ive been loving a lot of recent stuff too…

  50. RandumDude July 28, 2011 at 8:36 pm -      #50

Actually….their both beautifly awesome..n unique, soo ill leave this to u guys cuz they both play beautiful in my opinion.
