This is an absolute vulgar display of power as the admin of the site. I’m posting links and video to the Legend of the Seeker site.
While I encourage everyone to read the books (Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind), the tv series does an excellent job of being pretty faithful to the books – and while I first was resistant to how the characters where being played, I am now hooked fully, so consider this a fanboy alert to the site for anything related to this series when they appear.
You can visit the site and watch all the episodes that have been produced to date.

And yeah, just in case you wanted to know, I think the book series is better than Wheel of Time and (blasphemy!) Lord of the Rings. Let the flaming begin!
Vulgar Display of Power…
OOH! Make the straps disappear next!
“And yeah, just in case you wanted to know, I think the book series is better than Wheel of Time and (blasphemy!) Lord of the Rings”
i agree with you there admin and i can say that because ive read all the lotr books and most of the others. im still working on them now but if you have’nt read it yet faith of the fallen of the sword of truth books is really good.
the show is great i’ve been watching it on the internet and as you said they have stuck well to the source material (unlike eragon) and still turned it into a good story for tv. im a big fan of it.
Isn’t that guy in The Doors movie?
Gandalf won’t be happy……………
Isn’t Sword of Truth the series that heavily borrows from Ayn Rand’s books, especially Sword of Truth with its message being very similar? Or am I confusing it with something else.
@Cpt Olimar – “Isn’t Sword of Truth the series that heavily borrows from Ayn Rand’s books, especially Sword of Truth with its message being very similar” – I’ve read that Goodkind used that for inspiration for the books near the end of the series. I’m not one for reading in too much for that – I just enjoy the story telling, and decide on my actions based on my beliefs.
“(blasphemy!) Lord of the Rings”
I haven’t read the Sword of Truth series (I plan on doing it though) but I can see where you come from. To be honest, The LotR wouldn’t be in my top 5 series. Instead I love the world Tolkien has created rather then the specific story.

The Objectivist themes of the SoT first became really noticeable starting with Book 5, “Soul of the Fire”, and were strongest of all in Book 6, “Faith of the Fallen.”
I too tend to pretty much ignore the Objectivist messages and mostly just focus on the actual stories. I honestly think the series would have been better not to have included all that, especially when its repeated several times over. One of the reasons why the first book(Wizard’s First Rule) was my personal favorite in the series was because it was the most story focused and didn’t really address tehse themes at all.
Of course, the author probably wouldn’t approve, if his comments in interviews and such are anything to go by.
