Personally, I don’t know enough about the flood to judge this, but the galaxy/galaxies could be under a severe threat if new leviathans were made by space pirates and the flood were running round in hyper mode.
If the change in durability of phazon infected creatures in Metroid Prime 3 is even remotely similar to the change that would occur with the corruption of the flood, then I think that they will overpower the humans. This would require a Metroid Prime 4 though, lol.
If the Flood are corrupted, then everything they infect will be corrupted, too. Even the basic infection form will grow more powerful. Dark Samus orders the Flood to keep away from the Pirates, but the Pirates experiment with them anyway and manage to create new forms/pirates.
Gravemind is corrupted through his minions, but keeps from succumbing to it. Dark Samus and Gravemind go into a (mental) battle for control, which Gravemind wins. He is unable to control DS, however, and she offers him more power instead of splattering him all over the walls. Gravemind accepts, and is mounted on another Leviathan ship capable of launching mini-seeds loaded with corrupt Flood.

Wow Scenario that’s amazing. I wonder if Gravemind could keep from succumbing to phazon corruption however, something that even creatures like Ridley couldn’t do. Gravemind could end up as a puppet to Dark Samus, or even vice versa. I like your idea though, I think that Gravemind could end up becoming ‘Dark MC’ unless Samus warned MC away from a direct confrontation in advance. But if a Dark MC was made, there would be little hope for the universe. It would end up as Samus vs Dark Samus and/vs Dark MC.
And with such mass Phazon corruption around the universe, there would be powerful fighters and hunters being turned ‘dark’ constantly.
Well, the Pirates and hunters seemed to retain a bit of their personalities when corrupted, so something similar might happen to Gravemind. He’d be…’influenced’, but not necessarily controlled. I think he’d still be in control of himself, like Samus at 99% corruption, but taking orders from DS.

It would literally be unstoppable. The only thing that would have a Chance would be Samus with all her Hypermode goodies. But even then……
Naturally the Flood infect everything with a single mind. They function more like a single macro-organism with the Flood as it’s control. Their biggest weakness is thier inability to evolve technologically. They infect ships, but on thier own they’re limited to a single biosphere and the biomatter there.
Phazon is an organic highly mutagenic goo. It is all symbiotically tied to the living planet Phaaze. Phazon reproduces naturally without any help and certain phazon based creatures like Leviathans can produce massive amounts of Phazon to corrupt not only organic matter but inorganic matter as well. Given enough time, Phazon will corrupt an entire world into a literral macro organism and launch more Leviathan’s to the stars.
Think about it….

Flood’s Strength: Hyper-evolving bioforms, consuming biomatter, advanced strategic movement from a highly advanced sentinence

Phazon + Flood = Unstoppable. Leviathan’s containing millions of Flood Spores. Living planets with trillions of auto-morphing flood. Good grief…… ultimatly, the only way to stop it would be to destroy Phaaze, since all the Phazon would instantly ‘die’ and take the Flood with it.
The universe would be screwed.
I wonder if the chief could somehow, very unrealistically be given a PED suit…then there would be a small chance.
The Halos could possibly be used against Phaze (if it could be found), but there would still be millions of flood leviathans to deal with, a widely infected population, flood infected aurora units, flood infected Mother Brain, awesomely powerful flood infected phazon metroids, and Gravemind merged with Dark Samus, capable of moving from planet to planet to FEED.

Sure, chances are Phazon would override the flood’s ‘programming’ but they’re still flood, they’d just be enhanced beyond belief.
Imagine flood infection and combat forms able to go into hypermode (or even a hypermode Gravemind), and start firing blasts of Phazon (possibly filled with infection spores?) matter.
Then there would be flood-infected leviathans, not sure how that would turn out. Chances are it’d create an entirely new breed of being, more closely meshed than before. I’m not sure what would be in control, in that case. They could easily be one macro-organism, instead of 2.
Unless Samus, Master Chief, and all uninfected forces in the universe teamed up to stop it, the universe would likely be consumed within a (relatively) short time.

Would a Dark Master Chief be born? No, Dark Samus was born from the Metroid Prime entity mixing with Samus’s Phazon Suit and DNA. John’s suit operates completely differantly so the effects cannot be repeated by recreating the same cause.

Would there be a new Metroid Prime? Game? Sure if Nintendo and Microsoft/Bungie teamed up and did this crossover. If the question was about the MP Entity, maybe. There might have been a second MP on Phaaze because you can find an exoskeleton of one, but there isn’t any fight with another MP. So there is a chance there is another MP moving around somewhere (if all Phazon things didn’t explode that is).
Would Space Pirates join or fight the flood? Depends on the time this occures. If this is during MP3:C then the Space Pirates are corrupted by Phazon and would follow Dark Samus’s orders and probably join the Flood as they too are now Phazon corrupted. If this is at another time then the Space Pirates would just capture Phazon-Flood, study them, and use them as bioweapons. I don’t think the Space Pirates would every directly attack the Flood with the intention of wiping them out, even if the Flood nearly destroyes the galaxy(ies). At that point though I could see the Space Pirates attacking the Flood to wipe most of them out and keep a few select samples on the side.
Would Samus and Master Chief be able to stop it? I think it would depend on how far the infection gets before they start to really get busy on stopping the Phazon and Flood team. If Gravemind gets a foothold that cannot be easily assulted then it is quite possible that the universe is doomed.

that would’nt be easy at all the flood have a home world that no one knows where it is the only clue is flood refer to it as the grave world and they are the mind of that grave hence the name gravemind plus the flood if attack in enough force will overwhelm anyone no matter how strong pirates are in different shapes and siezes they won’t kill zillions of flood if even one space pirate died the flood could posses that body and everything the pirate knew their tactics, plans, goal, etc. gravemind would know and flood are expert tactisions since they’ve eaten alot of tacticians the space pirates will have to fight while gravemind is in their head preaching about the advantages of being a flood or bragging about how it devowered fleets twice their size.if only one gravemind is present so yea pirates don’t want to fight flood but definatley want to ally with them since flood can be reasoned with prime example the halo 3 level THE COVENANT were the flood help instead of eat you

I don’t think that Gravemind’s mental influence would be enough to overcome that of Mother Brain, Ridley, Dark Samus or the High Command, especially since I believe Mother Brain and Dark Samus also have mental connections to their minions and would most likely be working to USE the flood.
If Pirates were able to get information on this Flood home world, then it wouldn’t be difficult to corrupt it, as their leviathans are able to produce and travel through worm holes.

there is actually more than one gravemind when flood reach a certain mass all the information of the combat forms are piled into one large flood creating a gravemind so one graveminds mental influence might not be enough but dozens of graveminds will make bend everyone to its will except all those people you listed plus flood don’t just stay the same they evolve not just mentally but phiysically they can already hack computers and work enemy ships but after they get enough food (body fluids) they get bigger flood hunter forms are a prime example, and that’s just a stage flood never stop changing they just get mostly killed before they evolve I’m not saying they’ll win but space pirates have a serious problem on their hands if they ever decide to raid a flood ship
btw im not sure a metriod could do much to combat form every time they latch on flood there would be an intense fight for control over the host and if the metriod won the flood would scuttle of for another body and in the of chance they take over a ship they’ll spend months killing spores and disinfecting all that……….stuff on the walls play the level cortana or floodgate on halo and tell me that space pirates will even be able to use those ships for nothing more than a trash can unless they don’t mind popping thousands of spores with dozens of flood, debugging the controls literally they might as well blow it up from how recked the ship will be after they disinfect it

but seriously this scenerio several holes in it if flood got infected by phazon a pychic and physical war between flood and pirates would errupt and since space pirates don’t have any advatages to use on flood my last comment explains what would happen if a flood ship was raided the pirates don’t know and can’t find the flood homeworld only graveminds know and they are powerful psychics who won’t let such information spill plus if a pirate was infected it would be a hyper mode combat form alligned with the graveminds since they’re combined influence will turn anyone to thier will however the pirates have better fire power which wouldn’t really work too well against the flood shape shifters who can take alot of punishment and invisibility wouldn’t work since flood are blind anyway the only way pirates could win is if they outnumbered the flood in naval and ground battles cough..fat chance…cough however the flood would have problems if one gravemind turned then the flood would actually have to defend their homeworld which would suck so bad for them they’re made for assulting and devouring not dug in trenches and defences so if even one gravemind falls to pirates which is unlikely the flood are doomed
For a serious (and relevant) prediction:
Phazon enhanced Flood would be much more powerful than normal Flood, so they’d likely win a civil war, especially with Pirate help. They’d likely gain a ranged attack that could corrupt and infect. And with Phazon’s tendency to cause mutations, it’ll shift the Flood’s evolution into overdrive.
A Flood filled Leviathan could warp to any planet, and the Pirates could mount defenses on it (firing phazon covered spores, of course).
The Galactic Federation uses powered armor, so spores wouldn’t be a problem. They’d have to be infected manually. Luckily, that would require the Flood to deplete their shielding, thus limiting their effectiveness. The GF’s PEDs would protect them for a while, but they’d be overwhelmed eventually.
If MC got a PED, he could charge his shields with non-weapon phazon like Samus, but he would have limited ammo because his body can’t produce phazon. But I doubt he could get a PED, so he’ll most likely be corrupted. As he doesn’t use energy weapons normally, they won’t be enhanced.
Ultimately, however, I think Samus can prevail. The Flood can’t infect her and her weapons can wipe out everything, down to the cellular level. She’s good at clearing planets of life. And if all else fails, she’ll blow up Phaaze again.
Samus is tough But even if she did destroy gravemind he is a psychic and physical creature. Remember at the end of cortana when blew up the ship gravemind was in he was still alive……….sorta he sent flood in dispersal pods down on halo so he could rebuild himself with the body’s he sent and he was still talking in your head after you killed him.
If gravemind does ally with the pirates which I doubt they would have a full fleet guarding Phaaze If they learned how phaaze being destroyed would affect them. I have no doubt samus can destroy anything question is how many flood can she destroy at a time. Samus can only destoy flood so fast. Unlike most of the enemies samus fights flood don’t come in groops they just all out swarm you. The spike shooters weaken you and make you take cover while combat forms and hunter forms finish you off with powerful melee attacks that could dent a tank. Samus could loose a full bar of health with one swing from a hunter form. She would have to actually get help to beat the flood if they were enhanced by phazon.
If samus, chief, arbiter, and a naval fleet composed of elites, UNSC, and galactic federation broke through the flood and pirate fleets they would have a chance but even then that’s rolling the dice since flood are very strong when there normal.
what if samus , master chief , the arbitur , the covenant and the unsc crossed technologies. i mean if there is this big universes cross over there would be some cool combinations of things . like a cross between a spartan mark 6 armor samuses armor elite armor and brute armor. it would be kick ass . not to mention the species crossovers and what if master chief and samus had a kid. he would be the ultimate badass. and what most of the universe(S) would do (i think ) would be to hide in the shield worlds activate the halos and wait a while before comeing out to see what was left. imagine master chief and samus’s kid with super armor on. kick ass
The Flood are incredibly dangerous to any life form on their own. Making them stronger by any means will doom anything that encounters them. You could put those newly changed forms into any universe, and it would be destroyed.

I believe Master Chief was mentioned to be sterile, and Samus might be, too. She’s got 3+ DNA signatures, not counting the DNA absorbed from X-Parasites. If they managed to have a kid, he’d be a part bird, part energy draining monster, and part human. No suit would fit, but the child’s skin would be armor enough. It could fly with wings or levitation, drain energy, and be really freaking fast.

what i see happening is as suggested before a mindstruggle between darksamus and gravemind over the flood.darksamus will be trying to give the corrupted flood orders and to do her will while gravemind is doing everything to free the flood from darksamus.this will result in the corrupted flood being locked in the mindstruggle which will leave them unorgenized and proberly wild and uncontrolled thus leaving them open for a attack.
unless some1 gives me a good reason why darksamus and gravemind will work together i believe my theorie to be correct.

well here’s one scenario that i can think of:
dark samus discovers one flood group and observes their ability to infect.
she becomes spotted by them and they attack, which she wards off easily.
as the last one comes to assault her, she corrupts it, and then it lays there, changing into a “phaze flood,” as i will call it.
further observing her new creation, ds (using my imagination here) sees that this phaze flood can now corrupt AND infect.
astonished, she goes to find the source of the flood and finds a gravemind.
of course, as soon as it felt this new energy coursing through one or its flood drones, gravemind learned of the potency of corruption and its abilities.
mentally, gravemind and ds should be equal, in my perspective, and, when both see that they are, after the mental confrontation, of course, ds and gravemind come to a conclusion that they shall merge and become one being, one mind. Agony. (corruption and infection both cause it. get it?)
this new being then travels to phaaze, where there, Agony may send phaze flood leviathans to the planets it knows other graveminds exist, to create other agony beings and more phaze flood.

I think Gravemind will end up working for Dark Samus if only because of his ability to sense any flood form. One of them gets corrupted, and the phazon has the opportunity to go through this link and corrupt the Gravemind. It’s done similar in the past. Of course, then every single flood connected to him immediately gets corrupted, too.
scenario is right proberly.anything that has a mental link with something that gets corrupted will get corrupted aswell.i dont think gravemind and darksamus are equals everything that tried to mentally fight darksamus falls into madness right away.darksamus has some forf of intelect yes but i think its mind is made of something completely different something that really is absurdly powerfull.

Hasn’t Mother Brain been destroyed before Dark Samus enters the Metroidverse. If not, then the hyperbeam mixed with the corruption and devastation of phazon would be unstoppable. However, I do not think that even Mother Brain could stand up to the corruption of DS.
As pointed out by a few people here, the Flood combining with Phazon is a truly scary thought especially considering that once the Phazon Flood gain enough biomass, there’s going to be a Phazon Gravemind. The last thing the Galaxy needs is Phazon and Flood to be controlled by a hyper-intelligent malevolent and nigh indestructible being whose sole goal is to consume everything.
I think grave mind would end up better then AU313, in that he would be working for DS but keeping his personality, that and theentire flood would try to spread phazon instead of themselves as their No.1 priority.
Cant the Gravemind mentally connect with regular people? Isn’t that why you had the stupid screen bluryness during Halo 3? If that’s the case couldn’t a corrupted Gravemind link to every other non Flood mind and subsequently corrupt them?
