Ok, big fan of the first Matrix movie, and then the 2 flicks in the same year made it pretty…unfullfilling. Anyways, I think MC gets destroyed in this one. He may be a great soldier, but Neo can control anything that’s connected to the Matrix, and the fighting scenarios could call for the battle to take place inside the matrix, and since Neo is no hero in the “real world” that’d be the only place where this fight could take place at all…

However in the regular world neo is a no body, this Chief would have a problem in the matrix what with the bullet thing, plus neo’s martial arts skill, but a good ol’ energy sword or geav hammer will fix this. The battle takes place in the Matrix, so they’re brain spiked in dental chairs for this one. Assuming chiefs self image in the matrix was him in the armor with the abilities, and not him as a boy, or unarmored soldier, he still loses every time. Neo stops bullets, moves at the speed of thought, hits as hard as he can imagine with no physical drawbacks, flies, can fling people into the upper atmosphere with his mind, and knows psycho kung fu, I think that chief would lose even if neo had no appendages.

Real world outcome: Master Chief grabs Neo by the throat and crushes it, but Neo is no longer alive, so that won’t work. MC would actually be on his way to Zion to kill Neo, and be torn apart by all of the Sentinels or whatever they’re called before he gets there.

At range masterchief can shoot but wont be able to hit. In combat masterchief has an energy sword but i doubt he could land a hit on neo. They are both equally strong but masterchief has the advantage of armour, im tempted to give it to Neo because of the speed but in combat theres a good chance that the Chief could just plant a plasma grenade on him. This could be a good battle, i still hand the advantage to Neo though.
I think this is a bad matchup because you cant just fight in a computer program anyone can change it… so master chief wins, with cortana she could hack the matrix and give mc powers just like neo to change it or whatever

I think one of the most important questions here is what the Chief’s self-image is. Is it him in his MJOLNIR armor, or is it him as the pale-skinned man lacking armor? Or does he picture himself as the Man With No Name (har har)? His armor would certainly help him out, giving him extra protection against punches and kicks, and could also give him Cortana.
But can we guarantee Cortana would be able to successfully manipulate the Matrix, which is a full-blown representation of the entire world? When she discovered the knowledge stored in Installation 04, she was completely overwhelmed by it. Might not she be overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge humanity has amassed? Neo killed Agent Smith, true, but the Agents chose to take on tangible forms in the Matrix. Could Neo detect Cortana’s presence in the Matrix? But – undoubtedly (?) – Cortana could manipulate the Matrix. Regardless, can she be allowed in this fight?
Neo is much faster than the MC. His ability to flex the laws of physics, what have you, are remarkable, and exceed the MC’s speed and agility. Without his armor, Master Chief would most likely be beaten only because he doesn’t have the same abilities as Neo. Some people suggested that the MC would have these abilities too, but I doubt this, as he would be new to the Matrix and therefore inexperienced.
I have come to appreciate the flashbang strategy. If, say, three flashbangs were enough (it’s better to overestimate in this scenario, I’m sure the MC would agree), the MC may be able to shoot Neo while he is stunned, and less able to manipulate his surroundings. But even if he was shot, would he come back to life like he did in the first Matrix movie? Would he be able to extract the bullets from his body like he did with Trinity? It seems it would be more intelligent to go with the “blow him into his constituent atoms” strategy and use a rocket launcher. The only trouble is, rockets are slower than bullets, giving him more chance to react in time. The MC, if he wanted to win, would have to time it perfectly. In another case, MC could come armed with the sniper, which I have said in my other post in the Boba Fett forum, is a recreation of the Barrett 50 cal. sniper. If the Chief could find a good spot to take a shot on Neo, and nail Neo in the head, Neo would no longer have a head. This would seem to be sufficient enough to permanently put him out of business. While it may seem completely lopsided in favor of Neo at times, I think that all possibilities must be considered fully. I don’t say this because I worship the MC; indeed at first I thought it was, without a doubt, Neo on top. But everything must be considered. I hope you take my suggestions, questions and arguments seriously.

Nor saying he can’t manipulate this or that and he would most likley be aware of the AI in master Chief’s suit hacking the matrix as all programs appear as people anyway i.e. the orical and the key maker. Besides Neo can’t die in the matrix for he understands that a bullet in the matrix is just a computer program and does not harm him or more importantly harm his mind. Out side the matrix if such a battle were to happen then he could blow all the electrics in the suit and at least kill his AI off as sure he can’t destroy people with his mind but he fares well with the old destroying robots and therefore electronics. Neo’s powers only affect the matrix. Even in the real word when he has them, he can only use them on robots (Which I assume are connected to the matrix in some form). But when he fights the douche bag trying to kill him in real life, he gets blinded.
