i havent had a chance to listen to disturbed.
I like System better. Disturbed is a bit TOO Nu-Metal for me, while System goes for a bit more musical exploration.
Besides…once you listen to “Sugar”, theres no way you can give the title of more intense to Disturbed.

Anyway, I hate when people say Disturbed is more intense then SOAD…seriously, SOAD just sounds way better and Serj Tankian doesn’t sound like he has something clogged in his throat…Disturbed tried to copy all those other “nu metal” bands and well, that’s just what they accomplished…besides Serj Tankian was inspired by Jim Morrison if you all didn’t know
Generally I’d go with Disturbed.
Basically because I have a weird “thing” against songs with a meaning, and SoaD is a very political band at times.
Saying that, Serj’s Solo stuff is fantabulous.

Anyone heard “Indestructable”? S’wicked
I prefer System because they are so experimental. Every time you hear a song by them it’s different. For example, Tentative is absolutely nothing like Old School Hollywood, just as Roulette is very different from Streamline. I like that it all has the same basic feel with massive deviations in the details.

All Disturbed songs sound the same, and SOAD gets just plain annoying sometimes

Disturbed. Disturbed. Disturbed. How many times do I have to say it? SOAD is alright, but Sarj’s voice annoys me at times. I mean there is no comparison. Disturbed dominates regardless. Disturbed elimates its enemies and if SOAD is considered an enemy, it is an enemy.

All you DISTURBED haters wouldn’t know a good band if it bit you in the ass! Draiman is a great song writer and has a great rock voice. DISTURBED is the best up and coming rock band in the world! And for those who haven’t listend to them your missing out!

Bill, Disturbed isn’t “up and coming”, their been there done that. Nothing changes at all in their music. It’s time they either stop making music, or make an album using tribal African instruments.
If Serj or Daron were alone with no instruments, they’d be better than Disturbed.

ok seriously this is almost just as bad as the master chief lovers. disturbed is a great band i just saw them in concert over the weekend and they were great. all of their songs are original. and if you don’t like metal oh well you’ld just be picking soad because they play a different type of music. well kind of. if you saw some of the half-ass nu metal bands i have seen then you would relize that disturbed is one of the greatest metal bands out there right now. oh and Baron Somebody please if you actualy listened to their music you’ld know that it doesn’t all sound the same. and you would know what trying to talk with a ”pickle” in your mouth would sound like since you always have a ”PICKLE”(olo )in your mouth. i am a fan of soad myself but it’s not fair to critizize disturbed the way some people are.
ok Let me tell you serj tankain is one of the most talented singers since sabastian bach from skid row. He can sing almost anything. He is the like the harmony of heavey metal songs. i figure that u can only choose soad b/c distrtubed has a talkbox wich modifies your voice

Indestructible is one of the finest songs ever for Working out, playing a particularly difficult section of a videogame or just looking for inspiration if you’re roleplaying.
For that and that alone I have to vote disturbed.
SOAD are a fantastic Band, but a little… I’m not sure how to describe it. Eclectic. The songs almost have rhythm, but something just sound a little off. Its a personal taste thing. Maybe I just need to “crank up da bass” more when listening to them

Both bands are great favorites of mine and I’ll call it a tie. A lot of people say that Disturbed has very static music with very little innovation, and i may agree to that for the most part. Still, they make some of the best music out there, rigid or not. And SOAD is just wild and utterly sick, gotta love’em both.

I’ve listened to hours upon hours of Disturbed, and quite a bit of SoaD… that stated, I’d have to say they are equals. Disturbed gets monotonous sometimes, and SoaD gets annoying sometimes. They are great bands, but Kataklysm beats them both :p
If you don’t know Kataklysm, check them out. The drummer is epic. Martin Maurais in their song “Blood on the Swans” kicks ass.
I would say disturbed win this hearing their new album
