Black Mage (8-Bit Theatre) Vs Richard (Looking for Group)

Black Mage (8-Bit Theatre) Vs Richard (Looking fro Group)

Here is a match between some very powerful wizards of online lore. If you’ve never heard of them, I’d encourage you to take some time to read the comic strips in which they appear – great stuff.

As for the battle, I think the Black Mage would win –

How do you think this match would turn out?

    No comments on this yet?

I’m shocked. Here I thought this would be an epic showdown… Undead zombie mage with nigh limitless power and his own theme-tune versus a guy who once died, only to take over hell and then be overthrown… How does this garner less attention than thor versus pikachu…

I was never one to indulge on these type of things on the webs, but with this match I will certainly go read their comics.

Ill be giving my opinion on the matter later.

I’d say a Hadoken would pretty much clear Richard.

I’d never even heard of these guys ’till now. But after readin’ up on some stuff, I’m goin’ with this endin’ in a draw. They’re isn’t anything to indicate any other choice but a tie.

    black mage is just well…..

    richard wins.

Richard in my opinion, he seems to always have the right skills and power to escape from anything, plus he seems to have almost limitless power. Considering he ripped apart an entire courtroom with his powers when there where special wards in place to specifically counteract his magical abilities….he is pretty damn good.

However; I am woefully underinformed about the Black Mage, with what I was able to find he seems like he would be a fine adversary tho.

“plus he seems to have almost limitless power. Considering he ripped apart an entire courtroom with his powers when there where special wards in place to specifically counteract his magical abilities”

Richard will Kill the mage if your still on the mages side watch the slaughter your world video on YouTube that will chagne your vote.

  10. Scenario February 6, 2009 at 2:25 pm -      #10

Richard is immune to stabbity death and Black Mage rarely uses magic anymore.

    I suggest Richard vs. Sarda

  11. Matapiojo February 13, 2009 at 10:20 am -      #11

Well I finally went and read these very hillarious strips. I can say with all confidence that Richard will win.

Even if Black Mage got lucky, Richard is undead…

Richard vs Sarda? Really? Richard is powerful but Sarda rewrites the laws of physics when he’s bored.

sorry but with Black Mage’s new blue magic and ultimate evill abilities all of richards spells would be shot back at him plus all the normal FF black magic is at his disposal and the whole “my heart is the center of all evil” thing realy helps

  18. Sam September 16, 2009 at 5:27 pm -      #18

Richard would win. He can actually hit what he aims at.

  19. Jack September 29, 2009 at 3:52 am -      #19

Black Mage is far superior to Richard when it comes to sheer destructive power. Think of it this way.

Richard has slaughtered many a village and that’s quite an accomplishment. But Black Mage regularly destroys large cities and in one memorable case, one of his hadokens actually destroyed an entire nation. In one shot.

  20. Envoy December 4, 2009 at 11:32 pm -      #20

Black mage wins, he, only misses when its funny, he only hits when its funny, scince the plot here is a battle to the death, Black Mage takes this easily.

Richard has the all powerful FORK OF TRUTH and the KNIFE OF LIES.

I have to agree with Black Mage taking this one. And he’s developed powers even greater than the Hadouken in the most recent pages of the comics. Granted he lost them shortly after when Sarda absorbed them to later turn himself into Chaos.

Moving on with both characters at maximum power (super evil blue mage BM) against Richard…

    I think that ends it.

  23. Aaltar August 5, 2010 at 3:45 pm -      #23

Depends when they would fight. BM is lord of Hell for a few clips and becomes pure evil with seven other senses that mere mortals can not even comprehend. His underlings manage to push him back into his body to save themselves from his pure evil.

BM gains Blue Magic, which means that any spell that is used against him becomes something that he can do too.

BM encounters his worst nemesis inside a magic tower to atone for his sins… and the only thing they could make worse than him was himself. He then convinced himself that he had actually committed way more evil then was personified, naming off countless instances of pure evil, and the personified nemesis began to glow red, black lightning crackling about it, and eventually told BM to stop. BM defeated this manifestation of all his evilness and instead of atoning he absorbed all its power thus granting him pure evil status and black lightning that enabled him to kill his entire party.

Then there is his hyper evil powered up Hadoken… if ever there was a manifestation of pure evil and pure destruction, that would be it. Richard on the other hand just kills because he doesn’t understand why he shouldn’t.

BM is also the one who created Sarda (remember that orphan who saw his face when he took off his hat and became orphaned 4 more times…) and arguably the one who killed him (Sarda’s overload after absorbing ALL of their powers).

Richard is undead, true. He gets power from a necklace and can go ape-crazy like a monk. But is there really a contest here? I think Richard is going to need to do a lot of leveling before he even thinks of challenging a fully developed BM.

  24. CIDE October 2, 2010 at 8:08 am -      #24

I take back everything I said. Current incarnation of Black Mage has taken away ALL of his powers. He has a knife and various REALLY low leveled spells and the urge for blood shed. Unless Richard can get taken down by a random villager (www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcbazH6aE2g and this video suggests otherwise) then Richard takes it.

  25. Krazycrismore October 13, 2010 at 8:28 am -      #25

I have been requesting this battle for a bit, only to find out that it has already been made. At the height of his powers, I believe that BM could just absorb Richard the way he did the arch fiends, but now he is much weaker. I think that instead of fighting they would rather team up to destroy the world, then turn on eachother. But, since they are fighting Richard would win in a current incarnation fight, BM would win in a full power match.

  26. CIDE October 13, 2010 at 8:36 am -      #26

    I completely 110% agree.

  27. Krazycrismore October 13, 2010 at 8:53 am -      #27

I agree with you statement 110%. Meaning we are in 121% agreement?

  28. CIDE October 13, 2010 at 8:58 am -      #28

    Wouldn’t it be 220%?

  29. Krazycrismore October 13, 2010 at 9:27 am -      #29

Maybe, I was going with 110% of 110%.

  30. CIDE October 13, 2010 at 9:48 am -      #30

    Now you’re just confusing me.

  31. itcheyness October 13, 2010 at 9:54 am -      #31

BM survived having Australia dropped on him.

    www.nuklearpower.com/2007/06/09/episode-856-its-a-shadow/

That’s a helluva feat right there

  32. CIDE December 25, 2010 at 3:30 am -      #32

    @itchy:

He lost all that durability and power when they de-leveled. Though, BM CAN still win if he hit with a Hadouken. If that one hadouken missed he’s got nothing else left.

Richard for the FP award considering BM’s horrible aim.

  33. Grax December 25, 2010 at 3:57 am -      #33

I think they along with whatever world they were standing on, would be vaporized.

    DOUBLE KILL!

  34. Cabe_Bedlam May 9, 2013 at 9:13 pm -      #34

I’ve seen mention of the black mage being the lord of hell for a point in time. If I remember correctly, didn’t Richard scare the lord of hell enough to make him return to hell, IN GARDENING CLOTHES AND A FLOWERY HAT? I say Richard wins, hands down.
