Phase 3 DarkTrooper Vs Space Marine

Phase 3 DarkTrooper (Star Wars) Vs Space Marine (Warhammer 40K)

Well, here is a match that if all indications are correct, should be close to an even match. I have to confess that I didn’t know of a DarkTrooper until it was mentioned on the site – a little reading later, this might be a battle that the Space Marine loses…

Or does he?

“Abnett takes it out more so. Although I think Eisenhorn was enhanced someway as an Inquisitor.”

He had like one mechanical hand and maybe an organ or two to help him live longer, but no relevant boosts to his physical prowess.

Can’t we just agree that whoever wrote the Outcast Dead was high as a kite? I don’t have an issue with the WE beating a custodes, but I do with him punching /through/ a black carapace, artificer armor, and tearing out his spine without having his arm crumple up to his elbow. And he was pretty a named, not so much supporting character, so he has that going for him.

GK are definitely capable of using their powers to fight, AND are better fighters than normal SM. As shown by that one beating up two ultramarines. Also, Draigo used his psyker powers on the deathshroud, although it only weakened them. Then he shot one and stabbed the other before getting beaten up by Mortarion.

Eisenhorn isn’t all that enhanced. He does abuse his psyker powers though, such as when he cut down the word bearer in Pariah.

I’d like to point out that The Greatest Universe War for the Past 2 years and running thus far is either Star Wars vs Dragon Ball Z, Warhammer 40K vs Star Trek and Star Wars, or Tenchi Muyo, Gurren Lagann and DC Comics vs Warhammer 40K, Doctor Who and Marvel Comics.

Thank you so much for hearing it, I didn’t have too good a wake-up call this morning, and the Ferguson incident is making me feel cranky.

Can’t we just have the Ferguson Police and the Westburo nutjobs go in and let them kill each other to preserve the Human Gene Pools, if worst comes to worst?

I dunno. I always found Abnett actually making sense when he made people do crazy stuff. I’ve never found him to make them do things other WH40k writers would make we rethink.

Did you use the name of the forbidden Space Marines?

  7. orber August 19, 2014 at 3:09 pm -      #1107

Aren’t the WE stronger then the average marine? Whenever they display strength feats they always end up being high end strength feats plus the whole “purely driven by rage” thing is going on aswell.

And I know this is purely gameplay mechanics but in the CSM codex Kharn is the only CSM with a natural unmodified strength of 5. Even Abaddon is stuck on Strength 4, but yeah, It’s Kharn we’re talking about so he might be on the extreme end and normal WE in the codex are locked on Strength 4 anyway. But just saying.

The shit that happens in Outcast Dead is just plain absurd tho, I won’t argue against that.

    I have a question:

What would we do here if a 40k unit or character had better showings in the lore, but performed better on the tabletop? Like, let’s say for example that Abbadon and Kharn (the only two names I can think of atm) were in a match. Kharn has better lore feats than Abbadon (idk if he does, just an example), but Abbadon has far superior stats in game. Do we say Kharn > Abbadon even though that’s not how it works in game?

  9. Xornell August 19, 2014 at 4:22 pm -      #1109

^ For the record, I was mostly referring to a specific stat. Like strength. If the game says a character has a higher strength stat, but the lore gives the other character better feats, wat do?

    @Ellie Williams….errr a bunch of comments ago.

After the Clone Wars ended the empire began using
    a variety of DNA templates.
Mostly they used their most loyal imperial officers.

It was considered a reward for outstanding service
or exceptional skill in the name of the empire.

    @Weird Monster Guy
    @Darth Bombad
Ah, I see. Thanks for the info.

  12. OberHerr August 19, 2014 at 7:31 pm -      #1112

I think we go with Lore, due to game mechanics and balancing.

  13. OberHerr August 20, 2014 at 1:46 am -      #1113

“Anyway, I just read that the Troopers after the Clone Wars weren’t cloned using Jango Fett’s DNA anymore. Is this true? And if so, who’s DNA did they use?”

What DB said. Also, the reason it was changed up was due to an little uprising on Kamino, which resulted in clones being made to fight the Empire.

It basically resulted in all but a few units being integrated with preferable gene pools by the Empire, to mix things up.

  14. Xornell August 20, 2014 at 2:03 am -      #1114

They were also made differently I think. The Jango clones were made on Kamino and took a few years to be useful. Spaarti clones were made wherever they had cylinders and took only a few weeks to grow. Also they usually went batshit crazy. Although there was a workaround, which was severing their connection to the Force, essentially basically making them “blanks”.

  15. OberHerr August 20, 2014 at 2:11 am -      #1115

I know that, at least originally, they just made the newer clones the same as the Jango ones. But then the Empire being the Empire set in, and they decided making those took too damn long for cannon fodder, so they just made a bunch of shit ones to act as essential meat shields for real clones.

Had the unfortunate side-effect of taking away 90% of the clones cool factor.

  16. Darth Bombad August 20, 2014 at 3:24 am -      #1116

And a good chunk of their combat effectiveness!.
Personally i’d just create a clone army of nothing but myself.

I mean who can you trust besides me myself and i, its a good thing
there’s trillion’s of us!. (zooms out to show an army)

  17. OberHerr August 20, 2014 at 3:34 am -      #1117

Same here. Has the additional benefit of cool factor, ingeniousness, and being quite the hit with all those ladies in case of occupation.

Our motto: “Your planet isn’t the only thing we’ll be occupying.”

  18. Darth Bombad August 20, 2014 at 3:55 am -      #1118

LoL! :) “Hey me, we’re looking good today”.
“Right back at you/me, lets go hit the clubs on Nar Shaddaa”.
“They have to have a few billion ladies we can all date”.

  19. OberHerr August 20, 2014 at 7:46 am -      #1119

It would make the chain of command confusing.

  20. the watcher August 20, 2014 at 12:45 pm -      #1120

    Forbidden SM?
That wouldn’t happen to be a specific chapter where one member fought Harry Potter, and another one went “unarmed” against Lara Croft would it? The one that someone here really hates with a burning passion, and that I’m not going to speak because I don’t want to die? That SM?

  21. Glutinous-Bicarbonate August 20, 2014 at 12:49 pm -      #1121

No, the Ultras. Something about the full spelling of the name trips the filter.

Black Templars are perfectly okay to say.

  22. the watcher August 20, 2014 at 2:08 pm -      #1122

Huh. Wonder why the filter doesn’t like them.

  23. Jake_Uzumaki August 20, 2014 at 3:01 pm -      #1123

because the first part of the full name ultra and then ma (ultra ma without the space) is a restricted drug.

  24. Commander Cross August 20, 2014 at 3:17 pm -      #1124

Either way, Side B better count their lucky stars that(aside from Universal Warfare) they’re fighting something top-notch from Modern Star Wars, rather than anything from Tenchi Muyo in general.

The Phase 3 Dark Trooper just goes to beyotch smack any Imperium Space Marine not properly armed or non-Psyker in general and call it mission accomplished, barring Successive Mutually Assured Destruction acts to consider.

Anything from the TM-multi-verse ranging from Ryoko to Kagato would have the thing run out of ammo before it gets halfway interesting, and in the former’s case rip out its skull and shit down its body and soul while the latter dissects it alive in the name of Science.

Also outside this fight, the few Dot Hack(.Hack) fights on that site are Epic Win, just Saiyan.
