As much as I’d like to think that the marines have a chance in this match, I don’t think their chances are good.
Sure, they are well trained, organized and have decent weapons and armor, but the average Mandalorian has all that plus more…

Well, knowing what the Yuuzhan Vong are like you can make the comparison yourself. But the denizens of Mandalore would end this fight easily in any contest with the UNSC fleet.

If it’s just the UNSC Marines and no one else, then the Mandalorians absolutely win. Mandalorians whole culture is built around warfare. It’s what they think life should always be like: War. So Mandalorians win against UNSC Marines.

there is no way under the stars the mandos would loose. they have everything going for them! from the age of 5 they are traind in the ways of war, mandilorian war that is. this include extream phisical fitness and mental fortiude, along with wepons and ship training, every mando can fly a ship and can kill a man bear handed, or just one hand. but the mandos also can fight a jedi evenly for extende periods of time. during the great sith war the dark lord of the sith Exar Kun sent his best student Ulic Qel-Droma to get the mandos to help them fight the jedi. ulic sucseede and the mandos beagin a crusade aganst the jedi and if they can fight jedi the can kill every single UNCS guys.
unless the marines include ODSTs than mandalorians win. ODSTs would at least match the Mandalorians

2. Technology anyone? Star Wars tech completely blows Halo out of the water

The Mandalorians have more advanced weapons, armor, and fighting styles. Their culture revolves around war and they’ve trained since childhood. Marines stand no chance.
Boba Fett is all that’s needed to beat the Marines.
As I understand the Mandalorians, they are the SW (greek) Spartans. they are trained from birth to wage war. Add to this the armor (that can take a full hit from a light saber and shrug it off), and you have a superior bipedal weapon system.
As others have noted UNSC Marines are recruits trained to be Marines. they may be farmers, butchers, etc… prior to becoming an UNSC Marine, but the fact still exists that the Mandalorian was trained to fight from an extremely early age. Add to this SW weaponry and you have a superior soldier.
the reason Jango Fett lost was not because he was hurt by the light saber. it is because the weak point of most armor is the linkage between the helmet and body. It is almost impossible to maintain a perfect seal (without any weakness) at that joint. Jango lost his head (literally) at that weak point.
Teh Mandalorians will win due to the reasons stated here and the above posts.

thats what I thought but a lot of these older matches it’s hard to trust the old debates.
Mandalorians would slaughter the Marines and then glass whatever is left of the galaxy with their superior firepower. To quote Atton Rand who fought the Mandalorians “At Serroco when the Sterab cities were turned into glass craters.” And let me put it this way: Mandalorians are basically Spartans from 300 so by that conclusion they are much more powerful then UNSC Spartans (opinion). So unless the UNSC has a giant army of Spartan II’s they never bothered using, at least 4 or 5 times the size of the Mandalorian armies, and maybe an armada or two of Forerunner ships, they really have nothing to counter the Mandos. So even with Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson helping them the Marines would lose so badly they would be the definition of failure. Then you have to throw in things such as Jango Fett being able to kill Jedi with his bare hands, now imagine a large army of people like him and you have a nearly unstoppable fighting force. It is suicide.
The marines are a single branch in the UNSC… they wouldn’t operate their own ships…
Let me put it in the form of statistics: In just one week the Mandalorians have taken roughly 400 causalities, mostly just lightly wounded so they are still in the fight. The marines have lost at least, and this number is likely to be too small, 15000 men and women, most of them are KIA. Please notice this is purely my opinion on what is going to happen. It is probably off because the marines would probably suffer 3 times that number.
