T-1000 vs B-9

T-1000 Vs B-9

Suggested by Sauroposeidon

T-1000 (Terminator) will go up against B-9 “Robot” (Lost in Space).

Another BankGambling Battlebots match, to come in on the heels of the still on going battle concerning Data & IG-88.

Today we have two classic robots from science fiction, who featured prominently in their respective franchises. The amorphous T-1000 of Terminator fame, against the powerful B-9, affectionately and simply called “Robot” by his human fellows from Lost In Space.

The B-9 has hidden one of his family, who the T-1000 has been sent to assassinate, somewhere deep in an intricate cave system. You know the kind. They were in them in almost every other episode of Lost In Space. B-9 guards the entrance. The T-1000’s goal is to engage the B-9, destroy it, and glean from its CPU the location of its target.

The B-9’s goal is to stop the T-1000 in its tracks and destroy it utterly, thus protecting young Will Robinson.

Only one machine gets to remain functional. Only one gets to leave this Battlebots match to see another day, and one must be sent to the furnace as scrap. Who survives?

Who will win?

    I don’t think B-9 can actually kill the T-1000.

I am going to pimpsmack whoever keeps changing the pictures I include.

The B-9 does have a death ray if I recall.

I’m just going to bring this up, {spoiler alert} as of Terminator:Gen, a 1000 can put some of itself into other machines and take them over. (It did this to a T-800, bringing the damn thing back to life, despite a huge ass hole blown through its chest be a 50cal sniper round, and took it over reprogramming it to hunt Kyle)……so there is a chance this could happen to B-9, the 1000 turning him on will

Feats for B-9’s “death ray”?, and were the Data vs IG-88 pics not yours Sauro?.
Because i thought it illustrated the differences between the two perfectly.

“It did this to a T-800, bringing the damn thing back to life, despite a huge ass hole blown through its chest be a 50cal sniper round, and took it over reprogramming it to hunt Kyle”

I thought it just repaired the T-800 by using its mimetic alloy to repair the damage, and the T-800’s preexisting chip caused it to attack Kyle because Kyle was doing what Kyle does; protecting Sarah Connor.

    @Original
“If that were the case the 800 would have been going for Sarah with Kyle throwing himself between them. Iirc this wasn’t the case. The 1000 went after Sarah and pops while the 800 went after Kyle due to the 1000’s reprograming {note this isn’t stated in the movie, its just the only thing that makes sense and explains why the 800 changed its primary target to kyle}`

I still don’t think it reprogrammed him.

The T-800 could have simply picked up on the fact that it had a T-1000 ally and simply decided to divide and conquer.

Additionally *spoilers for the end of the movie in case anyone cares* when the good guys see the pool of mimetic alloy at the end of the movie, Pops says that the alloy is awaiting programming from a chip; not the other way around as you suggest.

I’ll leave this subject for the moment. It’s been a while since I saw the movie, so I don’t want to be too insistent here.

What are B-9 feats? Can it stop T-1000 from regenerating itself?

  9. Shadow-Knight September 6, 2015 at 3:16 am -      #9

I agree A, im probably misremembering anyway. Besides the 1000 could probably peal open B-9 like a tin can so the point is .

    *the point is moot .

For now I think that T-1000 will win here. I’l wait for feats for B-9, maybe it can change my opinion.

I know right off the top of my head that B-9 can protect itself by emitting 40,000 volts from its hands. It arcs about a bit and has a little range. This is enough to completely disable a human target.

Not sure what it would do to the T-1000 but I don’t imagine it would like it very much.

I really do seem to recall it having a death ray though. Not sure which episode it was used in.

I have not seen the new movie, and did not know that one was in it. So I am skipping posts detailing the new movie.

Ah, nevermind, the electrical beam IS his death ray. it’s just normally used at longer range. I think when used to warn Dr.Smith, it’s the only time the voltage is stated.

It’s also called an Electric De-Energizer at one point, and is used to disable another robot.

Might be he can use it both to shock and to absorb electricity.

He’s also capable of generating smoke screens to blind opponents, and is smart enough to formulate combat strategies involving its use to blind enemies and out maneuver them.

Although a superior robot is rated at being 100 times stronger than a man, they did clash briefly, even while B-9 was low on power. B-9 wasn’t immediately knocked to the ground, and in this instance used the smoke screen to get behind the enemy Robotoid and use his Electric Weapon to disable the robot.

While unrelated to this match, B-9 has impressive electrical defenses due to his circuit breakers. EMP weapons and the like can only knock him out, as opposed to totally frying him and “killing” him until repaired. The Robotoid tried frying him with its own beam, and he tried to commit suicide once by frying himself electrically. Both attempts failed. Just thought that was interesting.

    How fast is B-9?

  15. Sauroposeidon September 6, 2015 at 10:10 am -      #15

Around as fast as a human, since he is operated by a human actor inside of a suit.
