The Holy Grail has grown in power by an incomprehensible scale for within it now resides the slain souls of a mad titan, a master of the world once called Apokolips (DC), and a mad clown who desires to break bats. Make of that what you will but know this: If the Holy Grail isn’t contained or controlled than all existence is forfeit for all shall be drowned by the unrelenting waves of mud that shall spill forth from within. The three mystical beings that shall fight to the bitter end for the ‘Holy’ Grail. Doctor Strange (Marvel), Nicol Bolas (MtG) whose body has been returned to the point in his life when he was at his strongest, and a composite Doctor Strange for Nabuu knows the might of one Doctor Fate isn’t enough to win this war.
The Grail has granted the three titans of magic command seals and have been instructed to summon not one but seven servants to serve as their captains in this war of apocalyptic proportions.
Serving under Doctor Strange:
Saber (F/SN)- Vampire Hunter D
Archer– Vash the Stampede
Lancer– Gallantmon (Digimon)
Rider– Simon the Digger (Limited to Arc Dai Gurren)
Caster– Madara Uchiha (Naruto)
Berserker– Eva Unit 1 (Evangelion)
Assassin– Corvo Attano (Dishonored)
Nicol Bolas’s servants under his command:
Saber-Raiden (MK)
Archer-Alucard (Pre-Schrodinger, Hellsing)
Lancer-Lord Death with Spirit (Soul Eater)
Rider-Lightning (Final Fantasy)
Caster-Composite Sauron (LOTR and X-Men)
Berserker-Broly (DBZ)
Assassin-Deathstroke
Doctor Fate’s “Captains of Order”:
Saber-Sora (KH)
Archer-Samus Aran (Metroid)
Lancer-Composite The Fallen (Transformers)
Rider-Setsuna F Seiei (Gundam)
Caster-Spawn (Right before Divine Spawn)
Berserker-Composite Godzilla
Assassin-True Assassin (Fate/Stay Night)
The battle for The Black Grail takes place on Modern Earth. The three contestants have been transported far away from each other to set up their defense. Doctor Strange has laid claim to North America. Nicol Bolas holds dominion over Africa. Finally Doctor Fate holds Australia. All three have three weeks of preparation to prepare their allies for their march upon their foes in hopes of victory. Though once the war begins the Grail will not be patient in it’s own self desire for it’s twisted birth. Once seven servants have been slain (Any combination of the twenty one) are dead the Grail will manifest at the top of Mount Everest and will begin to collect humanity’s wishes and convert said wishes into the dark contents of the Grail suitably called “Mud”. If anything comes into contact with the mud it is considered an automatic death, the more servants that die after the initial seven the faster the mud flows from the Grail.
The Grail will than begin to respawn servants as twisted versions of themselves until a victor has been decided. Until then all twister servants will attempt to kill/twist their unaltered fellow servants. After two days of the Grail manifesting The Dark Being that now resides within the recesses of the Grail will be born into the world. If the Dark Being is born then no matter the conditions all contestants masters and servants alike immediately perish and The Dark Being wins.
To prevent cheating from occurring The Holy Grail has set up a field that prevents teleporting the grail and it must be physically reached and the two other masters dead in order to lay claim to victory. However if these parameters aren’t met and someone attempts to reach the grail early the Grail will manifest The Living Tribunal and The Fulcrum who proceed to terminate the cheating contestant.
Who will win?
Well shit umm mass confusion for everyone
@Rookie
Raiden from Metal Gear Series and Composite Sauron just from LOTR sorry should have specified :/
–
Also holy shit I can’t believe this got posted as fast as it did.
First thing I will ask is, is Dr. Strange actively taking the field? Cause last I saw he had a spell that basically turned him into an eldrich horror and he slaughtered a universes “DC” equivalents and destroyed their planet…….
How about lets not have a bajillions rules for this match?
–
Oh, and prime Nicol Bolas was supposidly omnipotent. He got retconned into a nigh omni through some freaky megaversal change. And since the living tribunal ain’t omnipotent, they cannot stop nicol from saying “fuck the rules” and cheat.
I can’t say I know much about many of the characters, but i’m just happy to see Broly on the roster. So many feats that arn’t normally allowed due to his arguable canon status.
@pimpmage
When it’s your match you can do with it as you please. Let me roll around in my madness known as a match.
–
Also supposedly omnipotent could by a certain cat’s opinion could mean a certain vampire is ‘supposedly’ omnipotent if you catch my drift.
–
@AbsolureZero
Eh I tried to make the roster as varied as possible and Broly fit the bill to a T
–
I assume we can permit his feats from the movies regardless of his canon status or not. Seeing as it’s not at insane levels of madness such as galaxy popping nonsense. So I see no harm in allowing his movie feats.
“Also supposedly omnipotent could by a certain cat’s opinion could mean a certain vampire is ‘supposedly’ omnipotent if you catch my drift.”
–
I read several people stating in older lore that pre-mending bolas was stated to be omnipotent in a few different places. Games workshop altered the lore to make planeswalkers not true omnipotents anymore. So, prime incarnation bolas is omnipotent. Current is probably nowhere close to omni, but still the strongest by far of all the infinite other universal level reality warper planeswalkers.
–
Maybe you could just swap him out for someone not omnipotent.
@Pimpmage
–
You got any other Mages that can stand toe to toe with Doctor Strange and Composite Fate? If the answer is no than I stick to my guns and it’s Prime Bolas.
–
Also several people stating in Older lore means very little as far as I can concern unless it’s WoG that says Nicol is Omnipotent. If he is than congrats he gets punted down to post-mending.
There is a DC universe alternative to the roll filled by dr strange. His name is Dr Fate. You could use him, or post mending bolas. Much more fair.
“There is a DC universe alternative to the roll filled by dr strange. His name is Dr Fate. You could use him, or post mending bolas. Much more fair.”
–
…he’s the other team. Y’know? Fate?
@pimpmage
Please read the Match Description Composite Doctor Fate was there at the get go….Look before ye leap!>.>
@pimp
Dr. Fate is already leading a team
Also what the shit?……..FUCK ME! I just realized in my drearyness when I typed the match I realized I typed Doctor Strange when it was meant to be Doctor Fate…ugh! Alright so I typed this match out at 3 in the morning so no flames for all the confusing shit that’s going on.
–
@Rookie
Can edit this match description? Cause holy shit.
My bad. Can’t keep so much info in my mind all at once.
–
I don’t keep up with comics too well, but wouldn’t dr doom be able to keep up with dr strange? Bolas would be completely featless in relation to doom, i’m sure.
I partially want one team to be lead by Pre-God Dr Doom. Just so we can have the magical doctors three.
What runes(I like calling them runes, sounds better than “supernatural abilities”)and bone charms does Corvo get? Don’t think he’ll do all too well, but I’m curious regardless.
=
Also, reasking Shadow’s question, is Dr. Strange talking an active role in this match?
=
Initial bets on Nicol Bolas(whoever that is)winning.
@AbsoluteZero
Meh I don’t like Doom, except for that one time he attempted to duel Mephisto I’ll respect him for that one instance….But only that once other times I think it’s “Oh boy wonder what phenomenal cosmic power Doom will have today?”
–
@CH1C4N0444 is allergic to bullets
I assume we can allow him all of them seeing as how he’s gonna need his entire arsenal to hold a candle to the other assassins.
–
Also we don’t really have any feats for Nicol so for me at least I’ll hold off personal bets until we get some solid feats for the planeswalker.
@Monochrome
I daresay that This match utterly outstrips any previous ‘attempts’ to display the Grail in such a prominent manner, by far.
If we’re talking 616 SS Strange at his strongest(barring Eternity) and everyone else with the same, I’d know that in 1-vs-1 Strange gets through Fate by the skin of the teeth, but Nicol Bolas at some of his stronger incarnations bring a lot more new things to the table.
Bolas did go to wage war against the Final Fantasy Mega-verse that one time after all.
—
Also if it boils to Servant fighting only, Setsuna F. Seiei(with either the Gundam 00-Raiser or the 00-Quan[T]), Spawn and Total Composite Godzilla are the main threats Fate’s bringing with him on his side, Bolas has Post-Lightning Returns Lightning and Broly(IF Video Game showings are also allowed, but even without them Broly’s a threat.) with him, and as far as numbers go 616 Strange brings The Biggest Guns here.
If it boils between specified Servant-TYPE, then Vampire Hunter D’s the mightiest ‘Saber’ here, since even under Sora’s most powerful forms Sora’s not bringing anything to test D’s Reactions and Reflexes.
The ‘Archer’ types is a closer fight than 1st glances implied, especially if Samus gets everything she’s ever used so it boils to Vash’s Firepower against Alucard’s Durability + Endurance and Samus’s Physical Prowess and Non-Vanilla Tech.
The ‘Lancer’ types is trickier, because depending on which Gallantmon we’re talking about determines whether he’d be on the giving or receiving end of an uphill fight ahead, to say nothing of Strongest Incarnations possible either.
Simon and Setsuna as far as ‘Riders’ go are mobile regardless if we’re talking Simon’s Post-timeskip incarnations or not, but either way Lightning better be mobile on top of having Galaxy-level+ durability or she’s in trouble.
I am happy Simon debuts in here at last though.
Mairon/Sauron may be no weakling in himself, but whether anyone’s gotta admit it or not, Madara and Spawn bring more things to the table than first glances suggest, and I’ve no idea how well either of the first two ‘Casters’ would hold against D next to Spawn if it gets to that point.
Talking ‘Berserker’ types, Eva Unit 1 depends on what version of it we’re using short of a Total Composite Version, but Broly best be packing a LOT of firepower if he’s gonna fight TC Godzilla or the Eva Unit 1, lest Broly gets eaten alive.
As for ‘Assassin’ types being the last one here but not least intriguing, it begs asking how much experience Deathstroke and The True Assassin may offer against Time Powers, because Corvo Attano can be bloody sneaky when he sets his mind on killing things, and that’s without going invisible to the ‘Normal’ Human eyes.
Barring a Time-Power Invisibility Combo?
Well that just makes matters trickier, and Corvo might be there in the upcoming Dishonored sequel coming soon.
—
Props to mentioning The Dark Being in here at any case.
—
@AbsoluteZero at #14
I must admit this regard is mighty interesting, though if 616 or Ultimate Alliance!-Dr. Doom gets his own set of Servants, Kagato needs nominating.
Yes, counters to the heavyweights the rest of the opposition’s got would be needed, lest any potential groups Doom can gather starts falling apart.
@Rookie
Can you please edit a part of the match description as well?
I stand with Monochrome on those matters by far.
“Props to mentioning The Dark Being in here at any case.”

Is that code for Kitten Lord?
–
Here is a somewhat meager respect thread for post mending Bolas.
www.reddit.com/r/respectthreads/comments/2hp4mb/respect_nicol_bolas_puny_humans/
@Commander Cross
First off all Holy Shit I just read that entire post and I made complete sense of it. Glad you like the match ^^. I’d say we use current Eva 1 before it was imprisoned in the ship so possible world ending Eva 1?
–
Also The Dark Being was more of me too tired to think of a proper name for the fucktillion amounts of evil it would be. But The Dark Being does have a ring to it doesn’t it?
–
@pimpmage
…….LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL That’s funny! You make it sound like that as if KL is strong enough to take on let alone be in the presence of the likes of the monsters that’ll roam this battlefield. Nope that honor belongs to someone that far surpasses all but the supposedly Omnipotent Nicol Bolas and even than the gap may not be that great! This being..has no name all that I’ve got going for it so far is the justification of being called The Dark Being.
I thought you were refrencing this guy by saying the dark being.

“I assume we can allow him all of them seeing as how he’s gonna need his entire arsenal to hold a candle to the other assassins.”
–
All of them as in “all the runes that have been shown” or “all the runes he has been shown to use” because Daud has a couple that Corvo doesn’t have. I only bring up runes since they both have equal access to bone charms and they aren’t exclusive to either of them.
–
Assuming he gets access to all the ones shown:
–
Corvo:
Windblast
Blink
Devouring Swarm
Possession
Bend Time
Dark Vision
Vitality
Agility
Shadow Kill
Blood Thirsty
–
Daud:
Pull
Summon Assassin
Void Gazer
Arcane Bond
–
Void Gazer and Dark Vision are pretty much the same thing, the only difference is the abilities that both give you starting out are reversed. Except you can see Runes and Bone Charms(since Daud wasn’t given access to the still beating heart of the Empress like Corvo did to locate them).
=
And I’m assuming Shadow question was answered in the description and we both missed it?
@pimpmage
Nah haven’t read the books so can’t say so no. But from what little I read he’s a jobber that’s balls to the walls arrogant. I mean to directly tell his minions not to harm Rand is really stupid. I mean really REALLY stupid. I mean even Sauron (though he had a good plan will give him that) didn’t jobber about and say “Oh don’t kill Frodo!” I mean man wanted his bling and he’ll get his bling one way or another.
–
@AbsoluteZero
I’d believe so seeing as it’s current incarnation strange, Post-Mending Nicol Bolas (Though Pimp hasn’t shown me anything that has legitimate proof of Pre-Mending Nic being Omnipotent), and Composite Doctor Fate.
@CH
Just re read it. It doesn’t specify one way or the other so Im going to go with “yes he is ” unless stated otherwise
If this link works, it shows Dr. Strange becoming an eldrich horror just before he kills the DC Expeys(among the a “Dr. Fate” character in all but name)
——-(Ill try and find the rest of the fight / transformation tomorrow)

Multiversal dragon god/diety of chaos.

Composite Fallen isn’t really a thing in Transformers canon. Or rather, Composite Fallen is The Fallen’s canon form. All instances of The Fallen in Transformers is the exact same character. Not a multi-versal counter part… THE. EXACT. SAME. CHARACTER. Every depiction of The Fallen is the same instance of that character.
–
So who can kill a multiversal entity?
–
Also Composite Godzilla can stomp on Thor (Marvel) and has a power boost thanks to his Burning Godzilla form. Since I assume we are playing by Fate rule sets, his status as Berzerker also gives him an additional power boost to all of his stats.
–
Berzerker Eva 01 is also going to be, well, frankly insane. Since this isn’t Composite Eva, is this Anime, Manga, or Rebuild Eva 01? …. although I’m not sure how much that matters. My understanding is that all three of them end up becoming effectively god at some point in each series.
–
Broly will probably blow up the world. Although that is something Godzilla can do as well, and Eva 01 can at least life wipe the planet.
–
Lighting from FF is like… hilariously outlandish. I think she’s also Jesus at that point as well.
–
Simon can alter probability, teleport, and time travel. Unless we are limiting his abilities to when they just got Arc Gurren Laggann. If it is much later than that then it doesn’t matter because Spiral Energy comes from the pilot, not the mech. Arc Gurren Lagann is barely powerful enough to take out a moon-sized enemy while simultaneously powerful enough to knock off the arm of a multi-galaxy spanning enemy. Both of those are possible and makes sense (of a sort) because the ultimate output of the mech is entirely dependent on the Pilot’s Spiral Energy. That’s why the Gurren Lagann movie ends with a fist fight from two people in a fight that involves throwing, literally, The Big Bang… twice.
–
So my bet is probably on Simon. Then the Fallen. Then Lighting. Then either Eva, Broly, or Godzilla… leaning towards Eva there, because Broly is a Saijin (how do you spell it?) and they can’t breath in space so if the planet goes boom he dies… same for G.
“Broly is a Saijin (how do you spell it?) and they can’t breath in space so if the planet goes boom he dies… same for G.”
–
Broly has survived space travel. After the destruction of planet Vegeta, while he was a baby, he shielded himself and his father from the blast, and flew to another planet. So, he can survive in space to an extent.
Oh.
