    Siding with Ellie and Joel.
Joel and Ellie have basically faced variety of the infected while Carl and Rick have basically faced walkers. It doesn’t help that Ellie and Joel are already familiar with the setting for this stipulation and have faced the zombies in there.
    /
Joel himself has faced soldiers/scavengers armed with assault rifles while trying to save Ellie.
Ellie is no slouch either. That girl may look sweet, but she can kill you.
    /
Other than that, I think Joel and Ellie have more weapons and equipment than Rick and Carl.

Rick and “Corral” probably get killed by Clickers since they’re only used
to pathetic Walkers that can be put down with a butter knife.

Plus Joel and Ellie are just the more badass and experienced team.

Joel and Ellie easily, they each kind of soloed an entire company of other post-apocalypse survivors. In addition, assuming they are fully stocked and upgraded, this should be a cake walk for them.

I think Joel and Ellie are going to take this they have survived much tougher foes and are pretty adept combatants. Vs the pepole who have trouble taking a vary weak zombie horde! And will have no clue how to deal with clickers and that really annoying big one. Plus they manged to get from Boston to Colorado with only being impailed by rebar once!

Clickers, Bloaters, hell even the more basic infected aka Runners to be much greater threats than Walkers for the obvious reason that other than the Bloated bomb tossing bastards they can run. Ellie and Joel have survived them, on top of surviving as was mentioned earlier dealing with a building full of people armed with military grade weapons.

Rick and Corral will be caught off guard fairly quickly and will be lucky not to get injured or infected. And if they can survive the infected they’ll still have to deal with the much more used to and willing to kill other people Joel and Ellie

So how do we rectify Joel’s listen skill? Heightened/highly trained senses?

Depends, I haven’t played that game but I’ve seen gameplay- does it work on people who aren’t moving?

Its been to long..I think it does by hearing them breathing or something at the highest upgrade but could be wrong.

I’m siding with Joel and Ellie, mainly because they’ve defeated much tougher enemies. The Zombies in The Last of Us are more varied and closer to Resident Evil rather than shuffling morons. Also Carl has no fighting skills to speak of. As for Joel’s heightened senses, if that counts he can hear so well that it gives you a look at how many people are in a room and if they’re armed. You could also dismiss that has gameplay mechanics.

Seems kind of cheap to remove such a core point of the game like that.

Also Carl has no fighting skills to speak of

Just to be clear, you mean actual fighting skills as opposed to just shooting skills right? Cause I don’t even watch Walking Dead and I know he shoots things.

I have to wonder what season are you all even on in terms of TWD? That asked this takes place in the city in Last of Us, is it in the part that is blockaded off that has armed guards and little to no “zombie” presence, or outside of the secured area?

“Seems kind of cheap to remove such a core point of the game like that.”

It’s one of those things like how some games have bullet time despite the character being a regular person in all the cut scenes. It’s a gameplay only thing meant to make things easier. So I can understand if somebody wanted to make the argument that Joel doesn’t have echo location.

“Just to be clear, you mean actual fighting skills as opposed to just shooting skills right? Cause I don’t even watch Walking Dead and I know he shoots things.”

Yeah everybody here can fire a gun. But Carl doesn’t have any real experience fighting anybody but mindless zombies that are pretty easy targets.

    @Karen
well if we’re being technical there’s more than one city visited in the game…but Unknown Soldier’s matches that have been posted have been very prone to having very poorly detailed descriptions

Everyone, including me, is pretty much siding with Joel and Ellie here.
Lee and Clementine vs Carl and Rick would make a better match up.

  15. Alpha or Omega May 12, 2015 at 9:46 pm -      #15

The setting could be anywhere, and team 1 would still win. Better weapons, more experienced, and tactful/skillful than team 2.
    /
I also want to point out that Ellie and Joel are better characters than Carl and Rick.

  16. Jake_Uzumaki May 12, 2015 at 10:08 pm -      #16

I think I suggested an Ellie vs Katniss match a while back. Can’t really remember now. It’d probably be interesting.

Unless Ellie has a gun, Katniss savages that matchup.

Unless Ellie has a gun, Katniss savages that matchup.

Depends on the area, Katniss is much more about outdoors, Ellie is more experienced in the urban areas.
And isn’t Ellie with a gun the basic idea?

  19. Alpha or Omega May 12, 2015 at 10:47 pm -      #19

I like Ellie and everything about The Last of Us, but Katniss has a bow and arrow.
    An explosive arrow.

Ellie could take it if she does her stealth and close up on her, but Katniss could do the same thing to get in shooting range.

  20. Jake_Uzumaki May 12, 2015 at 11:04 pm -      #20

I believe I gave both of them just generic bows and arrows and the arena was a bit of a mix I guess, as it was Chernobyl minus radiation.

  21. Nomad May 13, 2015 at 3:44 pm -      #21

Comic or show for the walking dead duo? Because for the show Rick has been shown to have incredible accuracy at times. Comic Rick is pretty screwed.

  22. AmericanBadger May 18, 2015 at 11:34 pm -      #22

Did you not see SEAL team Ellie? The part of the story you play as her she goes Spec Ops on Davids guys with here switch blade.

And Joel is a straight beast by himself. Hed brick Rick. I’m a peot a and I’m not even aware of it.
