Is this composite legolas? (including hobbit movie trilogy?)
If it’s composite legolas (Including hobbit movies) then, I argue that Legolas should be able to defy canon and appear in places he shouldn’t. He’s proven that ability. Should give him the speed advantage.
Boring set up is boring. Depriving both characters of their signature weapons is poor way of starting a debate.
Ocelot is pretty beastly. Dude can fistfight Snake and do fairly well. That along with a young and inexperienced him deflecting lightning with bullets should give him the win.
Have either of them used a crossbow before?
I think that Ocelot would win for these reasons:
A) With some training, people in the MG universe can pick up bullet-timing faster than knitting-which gives Ocelot a general speed advantage since (I’m 100% sure that im 90% sure that he is a bullet-timer like half his damn ‘verse.)
B) Crossbows (at least 21st century ones) fire essentially like muzzle-load rifles in respect to point, pull trigger, projectile ruins a day; both Legilas and Ocelot don’t use them, but I can’t see elves training themselves with crossbows
–
Wait, deflect lightning? The hell!? Oh-basically he’s using the rounds to create a moving lightning rod, right?
–
How accurate is Ocelot? In a duel-emphasized by duels in the Wild West-weren’t won by speed alone; if Legolas is more accurate, then the two should be pretty even (unless he can get Ocelot to start talking-or firing line after line of exposition as everyone in Metal Gear is keen on doing…)

Anywho, why does any CQC skill matter in a ranged duel with crossbows? And even if it devolved to such, Snake is literally the best CQC fighter in that series (not going to count “modified” humans or cyborgs) and for Ocelot to fare well against him bodes ill for Legolas. This match seems more and more like a stylish stomp of Ocelot’s boots.
Wasn’t Ocelot like good enough aim wise to bounce bullets off walls to hit you? That aside his aim in general is just supposed to he amazing. Personally and because I hate Legolas as a character I think Ocelot has this handled even with a crossbow.
Revolver Ocelot without a revolver is just an ocelot.

Anyway, his fight with Snake in MGS/MGS:TTS shows he’s capable of hitting opponents by hitting walls.
He’s capable of hitting bullets mid-air.
Bouncing from walls probably doesn’t apply to crossbows, but he should be able to hit shots in mid air.
I’m pretty sure Legolas has never seen a crossbow, much less fired one. And he’s not a comic book character; his skills apply only to weapons he actually knows about.
During the Two Towers (the movie, at least) the Urukai use crossbows during the Battle of Helm’s Deep, so we can establish that he’s seen a crossbow (especially since the Hobbit movie turned the black arrow into a javelin launched from a Dwarven crossbow taken right from Elder Scrolls); not sure if the books have crossbows in them, but the movies show he’s seen them throughout his life.
–
Like I said, I doubt he actually knows how to use one since it is universally different than his trademark bow, but I doubt that an elf several thousand years of age couldn’t pick it up after firing once or twice-I know its a stretch to think that actual immortals could be smart (lord knows there aren’t any authors that think so) but either way Ocelot could probably win this with little trouble.
@Ciridae (or Hunter): I forgot about those Uruk-Hai crossbows. Though we have no proof he’s seen a Dwarven ballista (which is an extremely common thing in fantasy).
–
Just because he’s old doesn’t mean he’s extraordinarily smart or skilled at learning. He’s immortal… and has spent at least many hundreds of years learning how to use 3 types of weapons. Muscle memory is a bitch.
He was in the very town that has a ballista sitting for all to see-he even takes filler time to look at the city which, if Two Towers can show him seeing a pack of Uruks running from leaves away, then he should be able to see a ballista that’s literally on the only tall stone structure that isn’t caved in on itself.
–
My point is, he’s seen one in one capacity or another and aside from pulling the string back in an odd fashion there is no demanding muscle memory involved. He is easily killed by Ocelot, though.
Isn’t Legolas supposed to be superhumanly strong and fast? Something something Orlando Bloom something something Elf Epic Because something something?
