Suggested by Rookie

One day Saitama (Onepunch Man) and Kaguya (Naruto) appeared in Metropolis and Superman (DC) was sent to capture them.

New 52 version of Superman.

Can he do it?

“And his body regenerating in no way disproves his toonforce.”

Since when did the power of toonforce care about something logical like regeneration?
Also thie first time he survived because of armor used to sesl his power.
So it took one hit to destroy his armor, several more of his normal punches, and then one serious punch to beat him. Hence disproving the “can one-shot anything” toonforce.
He just really fucking powerful mane.

I dont see why you are so eager to disapprove me when WoG is the only thing that will decide this match. Not you splitting hairs.

    Sorry.
How goes the search for that WoG?

Can one bifurcate toon force from intended humor or coolness?

  6. pimpmage December 12, 2015 at 8:20 pm -      #6

Ok so who all would be able to make WoG statements? Only the original author? Authors for the new show? Directors? Because there is the OG manga, the adapted manga, and the anime.

Ok so who all would be able to make WoG statements?

Definitely the OG author, presumably whoever was his main contact for the anime and adapted manga would also qualify unless he said no to it.

  8. pimpmage December 12, 2015 at 9:39 pm -      #8

I think the OG writer stopped for quite a while, the new adapted manga, flashier art, split off from the og manga.

He’s only been depowered like two other times, and they weren’t even in the New 52. Hardly a “bajillion”.

tIt’s almost as if they reuse the same shitty plot a bajillion fucking times.”

Well he’s existed longer then most things so at this point a lot of things are rehash with a different or modern spin.
I think this incarnation nerf might be the longest time he’s gone depowered and with his identity exposed. That tended to only be single story worthy. This one has at least 3 arcs dedicated to it.

“And yay, Bruce is Batman again!”

Sound like Jim is sticking around like most batreplacement. What do you think his new names going to be? I’m thinking Batcop. Batcommisioner? Batgordon?

I like the sound of Batcop, it sounds like bad cop lol. Batgordon was always fun to say though….

Well those were some short lived changes, I hope the Mythbrawl people get to still be a thing maybe get their own comic thought that was pretty interesting.

OPM episode 11 is out on hulu atm.

  17. pimpmage December 14, 2015 at 9:30 pm -      #17

Holy shit, there is a clip in that episode where an alien threw rocks so fast that they turned into light… at saitama without harming him. And saitama caught one.

  18. pimpmage December 14, 2015 at 9:39 pm -      #18

Boros specifically says I can sense no limit to saitama’s power. And it looks like the moon punch/jump is gonna happen next episode.

  19. Xornell December 15, 2015 at 2:39 am -      #19

As far as the scenario goes… I think there was a clear intention for what it was meant to be. It kinda ruins the point of the match to say “Superman depowered saitama stomp”. Like, why bother?

“You know that when someone loves eating crabs alot, he becomes a crab man without explanation.”

This is silly writing. Not toonforce.

“Saitama wanted to be strong enough to defeat anyone with one punch, and so he does.”

This actually just isn’t true. Saitama just wanted to be a hero, and his desire to be a hero made him strong. One of the main themes of the series is how he hates being so powerful and that he never gets a challenge.

“His toonforce only relates to physical prowess, not 4th wall breaking stuff because that’s not his.”

This isn’t toonforce. Something being OP in it’s universe isn’t toonforce. Nor does the existence of comedy in said universe make something toonforce. When he starts breaking ONE’s world for shits and giggles, we can call it toonforce. But he clearly has rules to play by. When he was in space (which wasn’t in the webcomic, btw), he had to hold his breath. He tells Genos he can’t fly. He has very clear rules and boundaries that he operates by. They’re just extremely high-end. In his world…

“Until then, why would his punches be any different from Megas XLR’s toonforce button?”

Because Megas has proved time and again that it can just come up with abilities on the spot and do shit that it just couldn’t in other episodes because plot…
To use the crab man for example.. If Saitama couldn’t beat him with a punch and pulled out a giant crab cracker device, that would be toonforce. That and Megas played with the 4th wall a lot and shit happened for comedic effect. Saitama being strong is not toonforce.

“I think the existence of Boros disproves this.”

That’s kinda true, but Saitama was holding back. Later on with Gauro (sp?), who ONE said was about as powerful as Boros, Saitama just reks him.

“The toonforce affects his punches alone, and his body compensates to handle that strength. That is no way gives him any other abilities. His toonforce in no way forces him to be able to engage with people outside his range.”

This… Just isn’t toonforce. I mean, even if his power was to be strong enough to kill things in one punch, which it isn’t, it still wouldn’t be toonforce. And it’d still be an NLF.

“I dont see why you are so eager to disapprove me when WoG is the only thing that will decide this match. Not you splitting hairs.”

    No it isn’t lol. Saitama isn’t a toonforce character. He just… Isn’t.

“Ok so who all would be able to make WoG statements?

    Literally just ONE.

“Holy shit, there is a clip in that episode where an alien threw rocks so fast that they turned into light… at saitama without harming him. And saitama caught one.”

That was just for embellishment in the animu, though. They were just rocks being tossed in both mangas.

“Boros specifically says I can sense no limit to saitama’s power.”

Who cares what Boros says? The fact that he can’t sense a limit doesn’t mean there isn’t one. This statement means nothing.

“And it looks like the moon punch/jump is gonna happen next episode.”

That’s true. I’m glad he took liberties to do cool shit like that with ONE’s webcomic, but I hope he doesn’t get to crazy with it.

“This is silly writing. Not toonforce.”

One and the same, If or when I prove he actually has toonforce. And since you said only the OG author would have WoG, I should start reading the original manga.

“That’s true. I’m glad he took liberties to do cool shit like that with ONE’s webcomic, but I hope he doesn’t get to crazy with it.”

ONE stopped writing his manga, and the newer manga is still ongoing it seems. At the rate the anime has been releasing, its gonna easily catch up. Maybe the anime will split canon soul eater style.

    @Xornell

“That’s true. I’m glad he took liberties to do cool shit like that with ONE’s webcomic, but I hope he doesn’t get to crazy with it.”

ONE gave Murata permission to write Garou arc as he sees it. Why do you think we now have Iron Knight fighting against Centipede and more info on Garou’s herohunt?
Also not well known fact. Remember beefcake or how is that giant was called. ONE actually created him before Attack on Titan was created. And author of AoT was actually inspired by Beefcake design when he created his giant titan. Who knew? I always thought that Beefcake was parody on AoT.

  22. Dmtl December 15, 2015 at 5:37 am -      #22

@pimp the rewrite/draw is still WAY behind One’s. It’s at least 3 arcs behind still.
    ————–
The anime is only 12 episodes with 6 OVAs.

  23. Ninja Lowk December 15, 2015 at 6:12 am -      #23

“Well those were some short lived changes, I hope the Mythbrawl people get to still be a thing maybe get their own comic thought that was pretty interesting.”

about a year of depoweredness is short lived?
And Depending on the writer they’ll pribably show up again. I didn’t think they’d remember Baka or the subterranean arc but they brought it back up even during this arc,

  24. Jake_Uzumaki December 15, 2015 at 10:27 am -      #24

    @Lowk
Well I was expecting it to go over a year.

I just thing the whole Mythbrawl idea is actually really awesome and maybe even deserving of a series of its own.
