Team RWBY and the Sanzo Party Vs Red vs Blue

Team RWBY and the Sanzo Party Vs Red vs Blue

Suggested by Friendlysociopath

Team RWBY, first time here (RWBY) and the Sanzo Party (Saiyuki, first time here) will go up against the *main* cast of Red vs Blue (Red Team, Blue Team, + Tex and the Meta)

So that should be 8 vs 8.

Battle takes place in the Summoner’s Rift from League of Legends.

Which side would win?

    I’m pretty sure Ruby is at least supersonic, and Blake can casually deflect close-range bullets.

    Doesn’t The Meta have a time stop?

    I think that that might be the only thing that team 2 has that could remotely help them against team RWBY.

    Also pretty much everyone on RvB is a terrible combatant, other than Tex and The Meta.

    Are we talking Post-Blood Gulch Church for a fight like this?
    Post-Blood Gulch Church offers a Huge Boon for his side, and are Scarab Guns allowed for Side B?

    On one hand, Red vs Blue might be Canon to Halo or at least Semi-Canonical, on the other hand, RWBY and Saiyuki are just canon to their own worlds.

    One thing’s concrete, Yang vs Tex sounds almost like All Hallows’ Eve to me, plus there’s Sarge on the Front-lines and he is EPIC WIN!

    Tucker also has Mad Swordfighting skills Post-Blood Gulch, not too sure how good is Weiss’s Combat Speeds since I need to see RWBY more often, I know that Weiss’s mobility isn’t lacking.

    When the guys on Red vs Blue can work together, they can make Magic and Miracles happen, or the next-best thing they can get away with, as shown when they fought the Meta together or that Army from Season 10’s final episodes.

    Hmm, has Side A ever been possessed by spirits before?(Invasively that is.)

    The Sanzo party includes someone named in honors of Sun Wukong(yes Side A has a Goku of their own, I can’t recall how he stacks up next to the fabled Martial Arts Godling himself though but I doubt he’s lacking.), they also have Half-demons, a guy with one eye who killed too many demons, and a Priest.
    Team RWBY doesn’t have Vanilla Mortal Humans either, but I refuse to elaborate because I’m not gonna be a D-bag on spoilers!

    This may boil down to how far Side B’s arrived to improve their mad fighting skills, and Season 13’s coming.
    Season 13 may play a role in how things like this will turn out, no doubt about that.

    Monty Oum, may you rest in peace, and may The Divine welcome you home in the Afterlife.

    When Ruby uses her super-speed, the only way those effects could have been created were if she were moving mach speeds. Very high mach speeds at that, but I’d have almost no way of calc’ing it. (I might be able to figure one out…but it would be very difficult).

    The only thing that I can see that supports that is the wall breaking from her shockwave that blows away several students and breaks the wall.

    @Aelfinn
    3:04-3:20

    That’s 16 seconds of her moving at her super speed.

    I guess we should take acceleration into consideration, since she started from a stop.

    v = u + at
    343.2 = 0 + a16
    a = 21.45

    x = vt – 0.5at^2
    x = 343.2(16) – 0.5(21.45)(256)
    x = 2745.6.

    That hall way would need to be almost 3 kilometers for her to have gone from 0 to low end Supersonic speeds in that time frame.

    You can obviously argue that the shot was in slow motion, but everyone else was acting totally normal.
    And i find it unlikely that characters raise their heads from the floor and shrug off an attack that put them on their asses at Supersonic speeds.

    It might have been slightly slowed down, but not enough to justify speed that like in my opinion.

    And she clearly used some form of magic, turning into a red arrow or something.
    When you do physic defying stuff like that, cracking a wall in front of you & pulling shit from behind you doesn’t seem that out of the ordinary.
    What i’m trying to say is, it was probably a result of the combination of her power, speed, & strength, rather than sheer speed.

    Anyways, moving at supersonic speed doesn’t turn you into a magnet that pulls things like that.

  14. Alpha or Omega April 27, 2015 at 5:24 am -      #14

    Thanks Ragnorke.
    I agree with his calculation and reasoning.
    That hall was about 50 meters, not about 2.7 km.
    This is aside from the fact that two were sword fighting with bread. Physics is clearly not straight for the sake of cool or rule of funny.
    Nevermind that Carolina would be super sonic for making a shock wave as well, and she doesn’t even look super sonic.

    Believe the name for that is Bullet Time. Like how in her trailer, none of the shells used from 2:45 onward hit the ground until she had stopped around 3:10.

  17. Friendlysociopath April 27, 2015 at 8:28 am -      #17

    “Like how in her trailer, none of the shells used from 2:45 onward hit the ground until she had stopped around 3:10.”
    /
    May I have info on how her gun-scythe works?
    Because I’m pretty sure the shells were just flung high into the air from that gun and her spinning judging from 2:56 to 3:01 since we see shells along with limbs flying high into the air.
    Also, are those red petals blood or metaphorical symbolic blood?

  19. Aelfinn April 27, 2015 at 8:54 pm -      #19

    “Anyways, moving at supersonic speed doesn’t turn you into a magnet that pulls things like that.”

    Moving at supersonic speeds creates a momentary vacuum behind you, so that is the only thing that could cause those objects to move, especially when there simply isn’t any magic that Ruby has that could do anything similar.

    Power and strength aren’t going to do those things, not even the crater she creates would be caused by here landing, considering, you know, how the ground underneath her doesn’t move.

    All the other arguments boil down to this: how much consistency do you want out of your fictions? Sure, fair enough, there was no mach cone and it looked like she wasn’t moving mach speeds, but rarely in fiction do they go out of their way to show all the realistic aspects of a feat, or even to make sense of it. So maybe she isn’t moving mach speeds. Just understand that that’s where YOU stand on the nature of fictional feats.

  20. Limbo Lowk April 27, 2015 at 9:08 pm -      #20

    “And she clearly used some form of magic, turning into a red arrow or something.”

    Only “magic” she shown or noted is aura and her semblance.
    One(Aura), Something that increase personal stats. Like durability, strength, etc, and iirc they can channel it through weapons. This is basically the thing that puts her and her friends in the superhuman level.
    The other is like a mutant ability(Semblance). Where as some have the ability like messing with polarity, creating duplicates, or pyrokinesis; Ruby’s is specifically noted as speed. Basically she is like the quicksilver of her world.
    As for the arrow thing I think it’s just an visual effect of her hood. Like how when superman moves really fast or Tasmanian devil turns into a tornado when he spin.
    youtu.be/1JZgPfbKbU4?t=3m22s
    3:22-3:45 and in the trailer where she seems to disappear, the red effects(Cape or roses) seem to be a specific version of the anime/manga technique to show someone moved so fast they vanish.
    ===
    “but everyone else was acting totally normal.
    And i find it unlikely that characters raise their heads from the floor and shrug off an attack that put them on their asses at Supersonic speeds.”

    Well all of them are supposedly superhuman sooo

    @Rag: “And she clearly used some form of magic, turning into a red arrow or something.”
    That was a visual effect. Because roses are kinda her symbol.
    ===
    @Alpha: But regardless of how high the shells were, they should have hit at different times. They didn’t, so the reasonable explanation is that the fight was shown over a longer period of time than it took place.

    “Also, are those red petals blood or metaphorical symbolic blood?”
    They’re… both, I think? Grimm actually do disintegrate, and I believe Monty said it has something to do with Ruby’s Semblance. But it’s also her motif.
    ===
    So, I’m watching RvB right now (around halfway through the Blood Gulch Chronicles). And, several of the (supposed) SPARTAN’s are… intellectually challenged, shall we say. Unless they pick up later.
    =
    Anyway, this episode is basically entirely feats.
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=-p4iS_p3b8E
    Actually, so are the two or so before that.

    But, basically, these are their unique powers. They all have standard enhanced physical attributes.
    Ruby: Superspeed. That’s basically it (well, she has superstrength, but not more than normal for Remnant).
    Weiss: Can make ice and fire projectiles. Glyphs allow her to buff her allies (speed-wise) or increase gravity within them.
    Blake: Enhanced hearing, because of spoilers. She can create clones of herself – so far it’s shown Shadow clones for dodging; Ice clones to catch an attack; Rock clones to just take the hit; and Fire clones that explode.
    Yang: Superstrength (she casually punches a car around 50 feet). She also gets stronger the more damage she takes.
    Also, their weapons are utterly ridiculous, and have about three different forms each. Usually two melee and one ranged.

    Also, I’d like to point out that Nora hits Yang hard enough to send her through the roof of a building, and she doesn’t come back down for several minutes. She’s completely fine afterwards.

  22. Limbo Lowk April 27, 2015 at 9:45 pm -      #22

    Blake
    sword/chain scythe gun.
    Her semblance is shadow which lets her create a duplicate of herself. She can use them to propel, shield herself, and/or distract. With dust(magicstuffs) she can create various effects with the shadows.
    (I’d mute it. Voice acting is probably the most cringey of the entire series.)
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImKCt7BD4U4
    :58 jumps down a pretty far distance.
    1:41 quick slash from shadow clone.
    1:52 blocks bullets
    2:00 using shaodw to propel her
    2:15 where she switches to her gun chain scythe . Gives her a pretty good reach.
    3:27 little durability feat
    3:40 agility(3:48 a blink or you’ll miss it moment. Use a shadow to take a hit for her)
    ===
    Weiss
    Pretty much the spellcaster of the group
    Dust user(magicstuff)
    Can create glyph with multiple effects
    youtu.be/Vt9vl8iAN5Q
    1:09-1:15 speed
    1:16 &1:23 Blocks a hit
    1:26-1:40 speed spell and glyph as platforms
    1:41 takes a punch
    2:17 another spell that blast an attack back
    2:19 ice spell
    2:36 create glyph under someone
    2:40 multi projectiles to hold in place
    2:54 disintegrates

    Oh come on, what triggered moderation there. It was only two videos.
    Summery, Blake deflects gunfire from a short range while closing in. Shadow clone can be used in a varity of way. Agile. Gunbladewhipscythe give her a pretty decent reach.

    Weiss magic. Can take punch. glyph and spells that can make platforms, speed up, fire element, and immobilize.
    ===
    Yang
    gauntlet rocket launchers
    Kind of like the Tex of the group.

    Punch sends a guy flying
    2:32 start fight ground pound
    2:50-3:04 using gauntlets to maneuver and attack
    3:07-3:10 weaving between bullets, propelling herself
    3:28-3:35 rockets
    3:37-4:15 fight against twin with bladed weapons
    4:31-4:35 dodges some rockets blast some out of the sky
    4:50 super sayian dodge more missiles
    5:05-5:15 semblance activate

    Yeah, most of the main cast pretty much stays somewhere between ‘almost competent’ and ‘how the hell have you survived this long ‘. Except for Caboose, he is… well I’m surprised he is able to put his armor on right. The Freelancers that eventually join them are better.

    @Epicazeroth
    They should be landing in different times since the shells were ejected in different times as shown during the part of the clips I pointed out. Sure, it landed all at the same time, and that means the scene is a little inaccurate. But, how does that disprove that the shells were high along with the limbs or prove that the scene was in bullet time?
    Even if that scene was in bullet time, what puts her at super sonic ranges?
    That wasn’t the only thing though.
    If it was truly in bullet time, the shells and limbs would be going slower in bullet time.
    /
    “And, several of the (supposed) SPARTAN’s are… intellectually challenged, shall we say. Unless they pick up later.”
    /
    Season 1-5 are for hilarity. It gets more serious in the miniseries and from season 6 up when Project Freelancer is brought in.
    The Reds and Blues in season 1-5?
    Those are S.I.M. troopers, not super soldiers/spartans. Freelancers from Project Freelancer are.
    The only S.I.M. troopers that counts practically as a super soldier is Caboose due to being super strong(not sure if he’s as strong as the Meta).
    Donut has a really good throwing arm though. He’s able to throw a grenade from a base, halfway through blood gulch, and land on the window of a scorpion.
    He also did it for another map.
    /
    *Spoilers-A lot of Spoilers*
    However, Tex is not part of the S.I.M. troopers.
    She is a Halo smart A.I. called Beta/Alison.
    That also goes to *old* Church.
    He’s not a S.I.M. trooper either. He’s also an A.I. after they retcon’d him being a ghost.
    He’s the Alpha A.I.
    However, season 5 finale, Tex is dead.
    And, in Red vs Blue season 6 Recreation Alpha/Church is dead, but Caboose kept this A.I. called Epsilon.
    Epsilon is a fragment of the Alpha/Church, so he has his memories and stuff and becomes the new Church.
    He creates a new Tex that FriendlySociopath specified for the match, Epsilon-Tex.
    /
    Also, the Reds and Blues are mentally ineffective when they work against each other.
    When they are working together, they are actually somewhat competent like when they took down Project Freelancer, took down the Meta, and recently ended a civil war that was continued by an evil corporation.
    The only exception was Epsilon-Tex
    /
    It also doesn’t hurt to mention that Epsilon/Church had become pretty effective as I showed on post 9.
    Also, some of the Freelancers joined the Red and Blue such as Agent Washington and Agent Carolina since season 8 and season 9 finale.
    /
    @Aelfinn
    In that case, it would also be safe to say that Carolina is also supersonic when she uses superspeed as evident when the windows break from her shockwaves.

    @Alpha: “Sure, it landed all at the same time, and that means the scene is a little inaccurate.”
    Monty isn’t the type overlook the kind of thing. And “a character with superspeed was moving at superhuman speed” requires much less speculation than “the animators don’t know what they animated”. It’s pretty difficult to accidentally put something in an animated show.

    @Alpha: “I’m doubting reality is being accurate because rule of cool.”
    That’s really not a good reason. Just because the creators of a work like making awesome scenes doesn’t mean you can ignore what was actually shown. You’re acting like “cool” and “realistic” are mutually exclusive.

    /
    I’m not ignoring what’s seen, and have involved shell’s ejected against it being in bullet time.
    If you’re going to use it as a feat, then you have to use everything in that scene.
    All of the shells landing at the same time doesn’t mean that time was slowed down. Nevermind that the shells was ejected at different times.
    The shells landing all at once should be taken as visual eye candy, not as fact that time was slow.
    Sure, she may be at super speeds, but she wasn’t at super speeds AND bullet time.
    /
    “You’re acting like “cool” and “realistic” are mutually exclusive.”
    /
    I have a problem when people, try to use it to justify their arguments or calculations. It has to be reasonable and include everything going that you used to prove it.
    Like, the time a character was given mach 32 speeds from a calculation focusing only on one part of the scene and not all parts of the scene.

    Right. But the only way for them to land at the same time – assuming almost-uniform launches, as a machine would have – would be for them to have been launched closely together.

    “I have a problem when people, try to use it to justify their arguments or calculations.”
    Use what? Rule of Cool?

    “a calculation focusing only on one part of the scene and not all parts of the scene.”
    We’re using all parts of the scene.
    ===
    But whatever. I can accept that this particular scene doesn’t have sufficient proof to give her a specific speed. It’s not really calc’able anyway. The food fight scene, however, is.

    And this proves bullet time how? That explains why the bullets land together, but it doesn’t explain why the shells and limbs move as if they weren’t in bullet time.
    /
    “Use what? Rule of Cool?”
    /
    Yes. There should be a limit on how much inaccuracies we accept.
    /
    “The food fight scene, however, is.”
    /
    Yeah, and it doesn’t give her super sonic speed. Ragnorke calculated how far she should have gone if she was accelerating to supersonic speeds.
    The distance would be further if she was already at super sonic speeds.
    We know that lunch room is not 2.7 km long.
    /
    The only thing that supports super sonic speed, is the shockwave, and if you want to give super sonic speed for that, we should do the same for Carolina for making a shockwave as she runs shown on post 10.
    Neither, look super sonic.

    Well, first of all, the room is pretty damn long. At least 500 feet.

    But also, showing the same action multiple times from different angles is a pretty common thing to do.

    I guess this is where we disagree on how long the room looks.

    /
    …Yeah, it could be that.
