Makuta Vs Jackie Chan

Makuta Vs Jackie Chan

Suggested by Neon Lord

A Makuta (first time here) from Bionicle (original series, not reboot) goes up against Jackie Chan (Jackie Chan Adventures) with all talismans except Monkey and Dog.

The Makuta is a random member of the species, and for the purposes of this match has no PIS/CIS. He is wearing a Kanohi Rode.

Battlefield is a small medieval village, and they start in the main courtyard.

I think that Jackie can win.

How is a Mask of Truth going to help here?
    —-
Anyway, can you actually kill a Makuta? If Jackie destroys the armor, which he can, the Makuta will still technically be alive. Just as a floating mist of Antidermis.
    —-
Makuta could wind up winning by waiting a hundred or so years for Jackie to just…die.

    Makuta Power List is here:
    bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Kraata

“How is a Mask of Truth going to help here?”

It can see through invisibility I’m pretty sure. I also wasn’t going to add something OP on top of the Makuta’s 40+ powers.

If needed Jackie can have a medieval close-combat weapon of some sort.

  4. Rookie April 4, 2015 at 9:31 am -      #4

    What are Makuta’s feats?

  5. Nsl98 April 4, 2015 at 9:58 am -      #5

    Dodging missiles:
He fired a missile from the armor in response, but not fast enough. I stalked over and tore an arm from the robot,
    -Mutran Chronicles

    —–
And Jackie doesn’t really have a way to kill the random Makuta once he is in antidermis form. The random Makuta can still just outlast him.

And Jackie doesn’t really have a way to kill the random Makuta once he is in antidermis form.

Says on the wiki Antidermis eventually fades away; though not in what time frame.
Also, that should honestly still be a Jackie win since he “defeated” his opponent but they just took a long time to die.

Makuta Teridax was alive for years after his armor got shattered. They can then possess other machinery or life forms.
    —-
Not much in the way of machinery in medieval times, though.

  8. Ordo11 April 4, 2015 at 9:49 pm -      #8

Wouldn’t most recent incarnation put him in a moon sized robot body? That can throw moons around with a magnetic pulse from his fist.

  9. Nsl98 April 4, 2015 at 10:17 pm -      #9

Um, the OP specifies that it’s a random member of the species. Not Teridax.

“And Jackie doesn’t really have a way to kill the random Makuta once he is in antidermis form. The random Makuta can still just outlast him.”

For the purpose of this match, Jackie wins if he can shatter the armour enough for the Antidermis to leave it.

Any Makuta usually have the ability to do some fairly hax things on their own. The Toa hardly ever met any true, pure Makuta in their time (the one’s they found during their swap adventures were permanently mutated and weakened makuta which still put up a huge fight)

    www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3428347

Can create hands of shadows to grab and throw people. Makuta Teridax used it as a way to absorb people into himself and gain their abilities for himself (Ex: absorbing his winged beast gave him wings).

    www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Tyranide/comics/ignition-battle/13/04.jpg

Enough physical strength to walk through that Ghost Blaster unharmed and then proceed to toss Gali around (knocking an entire tree over) and also break free of chains ment to hold Makuta. then immediately on the next page breaks free from what is basically quicksand.

    www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Tyranide/comics/ignition-battle/13/05.jpg

These Makuta are all very much crippled in their abilities yet are still able to fight and win against full power Toa with weapons specifically made to combat them. A normal, full power Makuta can create powerful illusions, control lightning and fire, control gravity, ect.

I honestly don’t know much about Jackie from the animated series. But Makuta routinely spar against Toa which can react to and dodge lightning.

Maura vary wildly, some can only deal with Tia, and the one I’m talking about is a galaxy buster base minimum

“Maura vary wildly, some can only deal with Tia, and the one I’m talking about is a galaxy buster base minimum”

Mata Nui’s body was planet-busting, not galaxy-busting. Teridax in that body is also not in this match.

Right; I’ll provide clips if asked but for Jackie’s Talismans:
Dragon and Pig have been shown to completely destroy armored tanks with a single blast.
Rabbit has had Jade run from California to Florida in an extremely short amount of time (even saying 10 minutes puts her above Mach 18, and it looks like it took less than 1 minute).
Levitation has been shown to lift tanks and armored bank trucks into the air with no effort while also granting the user flight.
Horse will heal any injury- as long as you aren’t instantly slain you will regen within a few seconds.
The Noble Ox splits one of the Himalayan mountains in half to get to Jade.
Tiger allows you to split yourself into 2 people.
    Snake grants you invisibility.
Rat… is not very useful, neither is Sheep.
Think that was all of the relevant ones.

  15. Neon Lord April 9, 2015 at 9:52 am -      #15

“Horse will heal any injury- as long as you aren’t instantly slain you will regen within a few seconds.”

    Wasn’t it minutes, not seconds?

Disintegration is a Makuta power anyway though.

  16. Friendlysociopath April 9, 2015 at 10:15 am -      #16

    Wasn’t it minutes, not seconds?

Nope, the injuries heal fairly close to instantly; a few seconds at absolute best- and that was for a hole going straight through his chest.

Disintegration is a Makuta power anyway though.

Somehow I doubt that would hit him.
I mentioned the Mach 18 was ludicrously low-balling the feat right?

Let’s try one minute instead of ten:
2,684.6 miles from California to Florida (flying, Jade ran, so this is still under the real speed)
miles per hour = miles per minute x 60
    2,684.6 x 60 = 161,076 mph
    161,076 mph = Mach 200+
Even saying it took a minute is a stretch considering we can hear the 30 seconds countdown start and she gets there *before* launch.
And we know Rabbit boosts RT comparatively considering there’s no way in hell Jade ran all that way and encountered nothing whatsoever.

Plus invisibility; any Makuta counter to that btw? If they can’t deal with invisible people the rest of this is largely irrelevant.

Oh for fucks sakes. Not this shit again.

  18. Friendlysociopath April 9, 2015 at 10:53 am -      #18

Oh for fucks sakes. Not this shit again.

What did you expect to happen?
We’re not going to say Ox just let’s Jackie kick Shendu a few feet when the power exceeds that literally every other time it’s used.
Likewise we’re not going to say Rabbit limits Jackie to Supersonic when we see others go far, far faster without an issue.

  19. pimpmage April 9, 2015 at 11:00 am -      #19

I expect people to not wank that speed feat that isn’t even Jackie’s to high heaven. First of all, a scientist studying that talisman said it gave the user supersonic speed. That’s slower than a bullet. Secondly, that show had two main HQ’s that jade could have ran from. At a certain part of the series, they moved from one coast of the us to the other. She could have run from Virginia to Florida for all we know. Thirdly, that speed feat didn’t actually does any specific time frame for it to happen. It could have been hours max for all anyone knows.

  20. Friendlysociopath April 9, 2015 at 11:48 am -      #20

I expect people to not wank that speed feat that isn’t even Jackie’s to high heaven. First of all, a scientist studying that talisman said it gave the user supersonic speed. That’s slower than a bullet.

The scientist said “at least” supersonic- and he doesn’t believe in magic at all; he just knows that was the minimum speed she had to be going to use his wormhole.
    And feats > statements
Even Jade taking 30 minutes to run from California to Florida is 4500+ mph.
Almost Mach 6, so no Pimp, I don’t expect Jackie to go Supersonic, I expect him to go much faster than that.

Secondly, that show had two main HQ’s that jade could have ran from. At a certain part of the series, they moved from one coast of the us to the other. She could have run from Virginia to Florida for all we know.

Except for us knowing she was in California HQ at the time because there’s- you know- the rest of the episode that shows them being in California?

Thirdly, that speed feat didn’t actually does any specific time frame for it to happen. It could have been hours max for all anyone knows.

Actually it does, we see them get into the elevator to get into the ship and hear the 30 second counterdown. Unless it took them several hours to take one elevator ride yes, it happened in that timeframe.

Are we going for another round of “Pimp tries to debunk the Talismans?” It’s been so much fun the last two times.

  21. pimpmage April 9, 2015 at 12:03 pm -      #21

Ok, are you sure the scientist said least?

And do you have proof that the hq was in California at the time?

And if I remember correctly, jade left the hq after seeing the thugs skulking around the launch site with Jackie on the news program. Any amount of time could have passed from when they stopped skulking around, till the time the shuttle was actually ready to be launched.

Also, you got it backwards. You never debunked me last time. I am simply sticking my foot in the proverbial door. Wankers gonna wank, unless I have my say so.

  22. Friendlysociopath April 9, 2015 at 12:22 pm -      #22

Ok, are you sure the scientist said least?

Exact quote “I can’t figure out how she made the wormhole without going Supersonic.”
Supersonic was the ‘requirement’, the ‘at minimum speed’ needed to achieve the wormhole.

And do you have proof that the hq was in California at the time?

Yes, they leave Uncle’s shop to go there. Uncle’s shop is in California.

Any amount of time could have passed from when they stopped skulking around, till the time the shuttle was actually ready to be launched.

Jade spots Jackie and the Dark Hand getting onto the elevator to enter the Space Shuttle on television. Unless you want to say it took them an hour to ride the elevator up- it wasn’t an hour.

They also didn’t skulk so much as… walk right up to it in front of everyone. I… don’t entirely know how they were allowed to walk onto the Space Shuttle with nobody questioning them whatsoever, but they did.

Also, you got it backwards. You never debunked me last time.

    Uh, we totally did.
First you said the Talismans were primordial, which we disproved.
Then you said they relied on innate talent- which was also disproved since inanimate objects can also use the Talsimans.
    You’re 0/2.

  23. pimpmage April 9, 2015 at 12:33 pm -      #23

“Yes, they leave Uncle’s shop to go there. Uncle’s shop is in California”

Ok this must be embarrassing. It seems I know something you do not. The agency moved uncle’s store to the new hq. There was even a scene that showed uncle having to cast chi spells to sanctify the new location.

“Then you said they relied on innate talent- which was also disproved since inanimate objects can also use the Talsimans.”

This wasn’t disproved. The talismans have shown to give a minimum level of power to the holder. If there was a discrepancy between two different cases of inanimate object’s speeds being boosted, you might have a case.

  24. Friendlysociopath April 9, 2015 at 12:38 pm -      #24

There was even a scene that showed uncle having to cast chi spells to sanctify the new location.

Surely since you know this, you can provide the episode number so we know where in the timeline this happened?

    This wasn’t disproved.

It totally was, nobody agreed with you and you had not a shred of proof to your theory beyond “You can’t prove me wrong.”

The talismans have shown to give a minimum level of power to the holder. If there was a discrepancy between two different cases of inanimate object’s speeds being boosted, you might have a case.

Congrats, that’s absolutely what happens when the Rabbit Talsiman is used, feel better now?

  25. Nsl98 April 9, 2015 at 2:38 pm -      #25

Makuta dont have much in the way of feats, unless you’re Teridax or Icarax or one of the “main” ones.
    ——
We know Teridax (before becoming an FTL Planetbuster) and Icarax casually fight against Toa, who are, on average, bullet timers. (I’ll get the quotes…later)
    ——
Random member of the species doesn’t really leave much to the imagination. All we have to go off is that list of over 40 powers. Most of which have NLF descriptions. And some we never even get to see in action due to massive amounts of PIS placed on the Makuta as a whole.
    ——-
TL,DR: Named Makuta are the only impressive ones, and it has to be a “main” one at that.

  26. Neon Lord April 10, 2015 at 3:31 am -      #26

“Somehow I doubt that would hit him.
I mentioned the Mach 18 was ludicrously low-balling the feat right?”

Even if it is Mach18+, that isn’t the combat speed Jackie fights at, but rather travel speed.

“Plus invisibility; any Makuta counter to that btw? If they can’t deal with invisible people the rest of this is largely irrelevant.”

The Kanohi Rode, also known as a Mask of Truth, allows the wearer to see through any deception, including invisibility, illusions, people lying, stealth, etc.

“Dragon and Pig have been shown to completely destroy armored tanks with a single blast.”

Makuta have Heat Vision as one of their powers, as well as a bunch of other things ranging from generic shadow energy bolts to plasma, sonics and electricity.

“Rabbit has had Jade run from California to Florida in an extremely short amount of time (even saying 10 minutes puts her above Mach 18, and it looks like it took less than 1 minute).”

The Confusion power (AOE) may be able to make him trip or run into a wall if he’s going that fast.

“Levitation has been shown to lift tanks and armored bank trucks into the air with no effort while also granting the user flight.”

Gravity control can replicate the first effect. I don’t think Makuta can normally fly unless they have wings or some flight ability in their armour, but they can control their density to make them gaseous and float I guess.

  27. Draco April 15, 2015 at 7:45 pm -      #27

    @Nsl98
“We know Teridax (before becoming an FTL Planetbuster) and Icarax casually fight against Toa, who are, on average, bullet timers. (I’ll get the quotes…later)”

I actually posted a quote somewhere in another bionicle thread that makes Toa casual Lightning dodgers and Makuta very easily fight and react to the Toa during fights with them.

“Makuta have Heat Vision as one of their powers”

Heat Vision that melts through stone. However there was a quote somewhere about a makuta instantly crushing a toa with magnetism.

However I believe gravity to be a much better ability to use in this situation as it’s AoE and we have a very good example of it

here the Bohrak-kal, one that uses gravity, sends an entire army of bohrok flying into orbit (safe until he needs them) and then cause Tahu to sink into the earth from such heavy gravity.
