Grievous is pretty darn powerful- he should be able to take this:
    (vs jedi)
    (vs Dooku)
    (chase scene)

I think that Jack will win.

Isn’t Jack absurdly fast compared to Grievous?

    More or less yes.

I haven’t seen much of Samurai Jack- could someone post video feats of him at his fastest?

  6. Friendlysociopath April 2, 2015 at 10:51 am -      #6

Did we ever decide on a speed for that raindrop scene btw?

Hold up, I’ll go get it- he essentially fights off an entire squad of bounty hunters in about a second or two

Didn’t Grievous dodge the sound wave blasted at him by the brown alien? Thought that would let him react to Jack.

Well then… He is pretty darn fast. This is a big advantage over Grievous. Still, Grievous is not slow and I think he MIGHT be able at least defend some of Jack’s attacks.

Can Samurai Jack’s sword damage Grievous? He is plated by duranium after all (I think, please forgive me if I am wrong).

Still, Grievous is obviously faster than Shaak-ti, who went down that red tunnel in the third video I posted in a Samurai Jack fashion (IMO).

Also, how do you directly post videos into the comment? I keep on posting the links.

    He also dodged force attacks.

Wait… when did he dodge the sound attack?

  10. Nsl98 April 2, 2015 at 11:14 am -      #10

He arrived in the Chancellor’s office, slaughtered his personal guard, then busted down the door to the hallway.
The Jedi were already pressing the elevator buttons when Grievous entered the hallway, and then that throaty Alien with the sound blasts shot some at him.
Iirc, he dodged some, but this is going off memory.

The video shows up after a bit; not sure of the exact reason or rule of it but it will happen- probably related to the image they use for the video (the word escapes me atm)

Can Samurai Jack’s sword damage Grievous?

Jack’s sword cuts through everything- except another enchanted sword. Even the brute force trauma would likely devastate Grievous.

Iirc, he dodged some, but this is going off memory.

Pretty sure it was just one sustained blast, but I’m also going off of memory so I could be wrong.

go to 2:20- you are getting force attacks and sound attacks confused. Still a good feat but I don’t think that alone puts him on Jack’s level of speed.

Ah, seems I was mistaken. Wouldn’t GG’s four sabers be problems?

Wouldn’t GG’s four sabers be problems?

Not at the speed Jack goes; there’s a version of the video with the fight how it would be in real time- the whole thing happens in a second or so; blink and you miss it.

Jack could likely run circles around Grievous before bopping him with the sword.

For someone of similar speed, 4 swords and arms is death is 1v1 combat. For someone of higher speed it’s about as relevant as having 10 swords.

Here is the real time video:
For some reason it starts at 0:29

Let’s say its some shack roof overhang that is higher than normal, standing at 15′ or 4.572 m. The fight happens almost exactly when the water drop separates so the droplet falls in: : 0.97 seconds meaning less than a second at the very least.
Events immediately after water drip and immediately before dropping
-Jack catches his sword in the air while it is yanked and displaced ~2 feet from his body, and pulls it, along with the small guy that threw it
-two bandits pop out to attack Jack
-Jack pulls out his sword and slashes one bandit that was in the middle of popping out to ambush him
-dodges and cuts the chain that small guy threw as he flies through the air past him
-running bandit throws a cape and two swords, probably to hide the two swords
-Jack runs past second guy who popped out, completely dodging his attempt to hit him
-Jack, from behind, dodges the two swords which penetrate through the cape and then the cape afterwards
-cuts down the guy who threw the stuff
-another guy attacks Jack from behind, and gets blocked, kicked, punched, and cut down
-another guy that had already jumped into the air towards Jack throws mini spike bomb projectiles from above (keep in mind Jack is wearing a straw hat that totally obscures upward vision)
-Jack collectively catches all the projectiles and reflects them at the second guy who had popped out and tried to hit him and completely missed, blowing him up
-the guy who threw the projectiles, while continuing on his course of leaping at Jack, is cut down when he reaches him

For ease, we could just split the events evenly. So roughly, Jack would be reacting and responding every .97/11= 0.088182 or about 9 hundredths of a second.
Overall, while that seems fast, it’s not that much different from an extremely casual arrow timer, which assuming a distance of 10 meters, can dodge an arrow moving at 300 feet per second with a reaction time of 10.9 hundredths of a second.

But we already know Jack is so much faster than that:
Assuming 300 feet per second arrows, roughly 1 foot from his face when he starts hearing it, he reacts and dodges it in 3.33 milliseconds. For reference, to dodge a supersonic Mach 1 projectile from 10 meters = 29.4 milliseconds, to dodge a hypersonic Mach 5 projectile from 10 meters = 5.88 milliseconds. And the calc doesn’t even factor in the time it takes for sound to hit Jacks ears from 1 foot, which is 1/1127 = 0.89 ms: meaning Jack has shown a response time of 2.44 milliseconds>>which is Mach 12 reactions from 10 meters away.

In short, Jack be chopping down railgun rounds with ease (let alone dodging).
