   Akumas soul attack means he can counter Jackies Durability & Regen.

   Are we talking ‘Regular’ Akuma in here or is Shin Akuma worth a mentioning?

   Either way can we just agree to keep Oni Akuma out of the matter altogether?

   ‘Regular’ Akuma or even Shin Akuma is a fair fight, one of them more ‘Squarer’ than the other and can be agreed to work with for Jackie’s odds.
   Oni Akuma isn’t either ‘Fair nor Square’ in the least.

   That said, Akuma’s Teeth is HUGE here!

   (sigh) Yo pimp, wanna actually post the episode number that says they weren’t in California when Jade ran to the space shuttle? You’ve yet to actually post it so we can figure out when in the series they move, and by extension how fast Jackie might be able to go.

   Right, so we know this season at least BEGINS in California as we can see a certain bridge in episode 1.
   @12:14 if the stamp doesn’t work, and multiple times onwards in the episode.

   Now, Pimp says they move their base at some point- but declines to ever back this up with an episode number to designate WHEN that happened. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t this season since Pimp mentioned Uncle had to sanctify the new location with Chi Magic so evil forces couldn’t get in- which is not the point of this season (Demon Portals) at all.

   We later (in this same season) have this episode, where the Dark Hand take the Space Shuttle to get into space.
   
   @2:30 Jade sees the Dark Hand on TV entering the base to board the shuttle- why does nobody question the man in a malevolent robe with glowing red eyes? No idea.
   @2:41 they enter the elevator that goes to the shuttle
   @3:02 the bridge detracts and Jackie has to… cartoon his way into the shuttle
   Jade only took the Speed Talisman, so she must’ve been aboard at that point as she can’t fly or be invisible.

   Now, we don’t get an solid timeframe since there are cuts; but the Dark Hand apparently just walked into the elevator and changed on the way up, then entered the shuttle. So saying it took Jade an hour would probably be the maximum time, with the minimum being much, much shorter; likely a few minutes.
   Distance from San Francisco, California (Section 13 base) to Merritt Island, Florida (Shuttle Launch site) 2945 miles.

   As for it taking Jade an entire hour to get there, that’s exactly 2945 mph
   2945 mph = Mach 3.87

   If it took 30 minutes that would be 5890 mph
   5890 mph = Mach 7.74

   17670 = Mach 23.21

   Still not entirely sure that is island-busting since even back then they could draw a simple explosion. Instead they specifically say over and over again “disappearing” and show rocks falling.
   Meh, ignore me for that- it’s just me interpreting the feat slightly differently.

    I just don’t get why they would use the word “disappearing” instead of something like “collapsing” “crumbling” “shattering”- disappearing is literally the worst word they could use to indicate the island was physically being destroyed. Even for Japanese-to-English translations that’s a weird word to use.

    Gotta be honest, I don’t see Jackie taking this one. I might change my argument later, but first impression says Akuma tears his soul out inside of ten minutes.
