    Godzilla is the answer.

    “Godzilla is the answer.”

They both losed against him, so no, he isn’t helping here.

ONE of these days once the matter with tektek.org closing down is resolved, I wanna do a match-up like that too at some point.
It’s not every day we get a match like this that asks how do we know which side’s more intelligent than the other going on, we need matches like this out there more often.

How to reduce the Frequencies of School Killings is ambitious, but without gauging the right approaches to consider, not sure if it’d be enough of a gauge to start things out.

I don’t have easy access to comics, but doesn’t Tony essentially send Banner an email saying “Don’t do what you’re going to do- it will go wrong!”?
If he understood Banner’s research better than Banner does, wouldn’t that make him smarter?

Intelligence should be based off who has been most beneficial in the arts and sciences. Having a high IQ doesn’t make one useful, let alone immune to dysrationalia.

Intelligence should be based off who has been most beneficial in the arts and sciences.

Dunno about arts, but hasn’t Tony invented a ton more stuff than Banner?

Let me tell ya about uncle Tony here.
He casually makes suits on a daily basis.
Knows how particle technology works and integrates them into his suits.
Is a pretty good programmer for his machines and his suits.
    Knows how nanotechnology works.
Made and operated a suit made out of carbon.
Understood Hope and Scarlet Witches powers to win against the phoenix X-men.
Built a suit with warp technology.
Understands how most alien technology works.
    Once made a dyson sphere.
Understood the concept of time to make his suit immune to time energies.
Proceeded to make a time machine.
He did some most stuff I haven’t memorized.

Tony’s been Science-ing for just as long as Banner and hasn’t transformed himself into a big green rage monster :^) Just sayin’.

  9. Jake_Uzumaki March 16, 2015 at 4:16 pm -      #9

although Original Sin implied Tony tinkering with the bomb is what caused Banner to turn into a big green rage monster so…
granted the alternative was the entire united states going up in smoke so lesser of two murder fests

  10. Jake_Uzumaki March 16, 2015 at 4:25 pm -      #10

yeah it was in original sin after he drunk fixed the bomb he sent an email to Banner saying “hey I fixed the yields on the bomb so it won’t wipe America off the map but there’s some weird shit that will cause anything in the blast radius to spontaneously grow matter/mass so you might want to be extra careful or even take a look at that since this is your specialty” or something like that

But Banner was still pissed about Tony showing him up in front of the General and just deleted it without stopping to read it.

I’m going with Banner. Didn’t he hack into Tony and Beast’s stuff before?
“although Original Sin implied Tony tinkering with the bomb is what caused Banner to turn into a big green rage monster so…”

Actually I think in the story It seems it was already going to do what it did.

  12. Jake_Uzumaki March 16, 2015 at 6:24 pm -      #12

It’s kind of ambivalent since Tony does seem to believe he’s to blame to a degree still

  13. Limbo Lowk March 16, 2015 at 6:32 pm -      #13

I think it was more of a I could’ve done more or been less of a jackass kind of guilt.

  14. Jake_Uzumaki March 16, 2015 at 6:43 pm -      #14

True, though he did go out of his way to trick the Extremis enhanced Hulk

  15. Alpha or Omega March 16, 2015 at 6:46 pm -      #15

“I’m going with Banner. Didn’t he hack into Tony and Beast’s stuff before?”
That would make him smarter than Stark in the computer programming/computer science area. Not over all areas. And, Tony knows how to hack and counter-hack, so he’s not that far behind Banner in computer science/computer programming.
I will admit though, I have less knowledge of Banner’s “intelligence feats”
After all, he got all his PhD’s by SMASHING through all his courses.
    I’m gonna shoot myself.

  16. Jake_Uzumaki March 16, 2015 at 6:59 pm -      #16

Banner just hasn’t done as much due to Hulk being an issue. Doc Green, who supposedly is as smart as Banner (then again there’s the Extremis enhancement) but he did make a time machine

Isn’t Tony canonically smarter than Banner? Thought he was.

  18. Ciridae Hunter March 16, 2015 at 10:31 pm -      #18

Banner doesn’t have enough Int. feats since he has the Hulk debuff.

On that note, the answer is simple:
    Tony made Jarvis. Bruce didn’t.

  19. Limbo Lowk March 16, 2015 at 10:56 pm -      #19

    “Tony made Jarvis. Bruce didn’t.”

Bruce has made two AIs actually.
He also created a time bomb. As in a bomb that affects time.
“After all, he got all his PhD’s by SMASHING through all his courses.”

I really wanted to add to this but I just can’t think up a pun that could possibly match that.

  20. Ciridae Hunter March 16, 2015 at 11:02 pm -      #20

    Bruce’s AI’s aren’t Jarvis.

You were looking for “I guess he took a SMASH-COURSE”.

  21. Limbo Lowk March 16, 2015 at 11:36 pm -      #21

    “Bruce’s AI’s aren’t Jarvis.”

But they are bruce banner so at least they’ve got that going on.
“You were looking for “I guess he took a SMASH-COURSE”.”

    There we go.

  22. Alpha or Omega March 16, 2015 at 11:39 pm -      #22

He was so smart, it RADIATED out of him.
Sometimes, he couldn’t help himself. He was just GREEN with envy at other intellects.
However, he wasn’t RED as a tomato when he was angry. Ross on the other hand…
He used to ABOM physical education, but now, he’s a HULKING figure.
He has a Ph’D in NUCLEAR physics because he’s such a BLAST.
Do you know why Banner excels at debating? It’s because The CREDIBLE Hulk always cite his sources.
Now, here’s Tony and Bruce laughing.
Anyway, to make my post look relevant.
He also made another AI called P.E.P.P.E.R.
Do you know why she was made?
It was because Jarvis didn’t have enough Iron in him.

  23. Alpha or Omega March 16, 2015 at 11:50 pm -      #23

Honestly though, wasn’t there a ranking on who was the smartest person on earth?
I think I know what CH1 was talkin’ about.
IIRC, Reed Richards was #1 while Amadeus Cho was a #7. Don’t remember if Banner or Stark was smarter.
Anyway, Stark outsmarted Reed in a game of chess.
Multiple chess. Like 7 chess games at the same time with 7 checkmates, and Stark did lead the Avengers sometimes, so the feat along with leading the Avengers show that he’s also strategic.
Ah, I might have found the list. Assuming this guy is credible.

    “According to Marvel
    1. Mr Fantastic

    2. Doctor Doom

    3. Hank Pym

    4. Bruce Banner

    5. Tony Stark

    6. Beast

    7. Amadeus Cho

    8. Black Panther”
    Bruce is apparently smarter.
    They’re also having a discussion

  24. Limbo Lowk March 16, 2015 at 11:53 pm -      #24

    Difference between the two

  25. Alpha or Omega March 17, 2015 at 12:05 am -      #25

LoL, I saw that on the thread.
“You’re still Rich”-Tony Stark looking at a mirror.
This scan they posted though, was my favorite.
    This however
That must McCoy is the BEAST
    AHAHAHA-that wasn’t funny.

  26. CH1C4N0444 is allergic to bullets March 17, 2015 at 12:24 am -      #26

@AoO Don’t think that’s accurate anymore though, Cho’s the 10th smartest. I think Blue Marvel may be up there due to him being the world’s utmost expert in something, which seems to be something that would include you in that list.

“IIRC, Reed Richards was #1 while Amadeus Cho was a #7. Don’t remember if Banner or Stark was smarter.”

Took a while to find, but Banner is the fourth smartest person, but don’t know where every one else is in that list.

So, Banner puts a little chip in to a computer system and then this happens.

That’s almost like someone knowing more about Pym Particles than Hank Pym does.

More or less solidifies his positioning

*EDIT And AoO posted the same scan…

  27. Blazing Waffles March 17, 2015 at 11:21 am -      #27

Well, Stark is better with engineering, but Banner is the greatest radiologist on Marvel’s Earth. They’re experts in two entirely different fields of science. Not that it means much – in fiction, any scientist can do anything in any field of study regardless of their stated profession.

  28. Ciridae Hunter March 17, 2015 at 12:44 pm -      #28

We can look at the practical applications of their research to determine the winner in this-might make it easier for us to decide.

  29. PrimusxPilus March 17, 2015 at 1:31 pm -      #29

This is a good match. Following.

  30. Darth Bombad March 17, 2015 at 7:09 pm -      #30

This is a very interesting and original match, we need more like this.

As for the debate itself their both geniuses but there can be only one…..

    Scientist Supreme!!!

  31. Jake_Uzumaki April 1, 2015 at 11:45 pm -      #31

Reed says that he’s only marginally smarter than Tony, but that Tony is the best multitasker on Earth and discusses the way he problem solves
