Rukodiora Vs Kalameet

Rukodiora Vs Kalameet

Suggested by Xenosmilus

Making the very first appearance on the site for the Elder Dragons from Monster Hunter, Rukodiora going up against Kalameet (Dark Souls)

I noticed that there wasn’t a single matchup pitting a monster Hunter dragon against a dragon from another series, so I decided to see if I could change that.

This is my first matchup suggestion on this site so I don’t know if I need to select the battle ground or rules but I will just in case.

The battleground would be an abandoned arena five times the size of a football field made of rock with metal structures and pieces of shrapnel scattered around the arena. There would be no limitations on either dragon and they would be fighting to the death or incapacitation if death isn’t possible, no stalemates allowed.

Does kalameet have any powers beyond what a standard dragon has? If he doesn’t then I favor rukodiora without much trouble.

I’m pretty sure that Kalameet has a size advantage on Rukodiora.

In Dark Souls, you talk to Hawkeye Gough, who’s a really big guy with a really big bow. He shoots down Kalameet so you can actually fight him on the ground.

    You then fight him:

^ The world in monster hunter is supposed to be a fantasy world except with a working ecology, Because of this all the monsters have niches, taxonomic orders, and varying sizes. No monster that you fight will be the same size twice, So rukodiora could be as small as 13.49 long meters or as big as 21.08 meters long. The monster Hunter wiki can show you the size range, taxonomic order, and ecological niche of each monster.

If kalameet can reach sizes past 21 meters than it can be safe to say that he’s larger, if he doesn’t than rukodiora would obviously have the size advantage.

I was basing my estimate off the fact that when a Monster Hunter is standing next to Rukodiora, they appear much larger than when the Chosen Undead is standing next to Kalameet. If we really wanted to, we could take screenshots and try to actually measure each one, but I’d hope the size comparison using a human would work. The screenshots would take much more work than I’d want to put in right now.

Disregarding size for the moment (They personally look very similar in size to me) Let’s talk about their abilities. Rukodiora has very good control over magnetism moving and destroying things that don’t even have a metallic qualities. He can spread scales from his wings on to objects that he usually can’t control to magnetise them such as the hunter. Rukodiora could control the battle field throwing debris, making a shield out of it, and use it to augment his attacks. Rukodiora also has control of dragon element and is able to create a beam out of it. In addition he could cover kalameet in wing scales and throw him around. Kalameet also seems to have a beak like jaw with no teeth (correct me if I’m wrong) While rukodiora has a jaw with large teeth possibly giving him a better bite. Here’s a gameplay video to help you get a better idea of his abilities. youtu.be/Xt6LbuCK3m4

Heck yeah, I’ve been hoping for Monster Hunter beasts to show up! And it’s an Elder Dragon no less. I don’t know enough about Kalameet to decide a winner though, but I hope this’ll be a good match.

Kalameet displays similar abilities to Rukodiora, at least in terms of TK.

I played Monster Hunter 3, and trust me, I’ve thought about a few fights, but it’s difficult to find one.

Quick question, for a being that controls magnetism how strong would your control over magnetism be if you could move objects with no metallic qualities. Also, how would kalameet take to a large laser made out of a substance that’s known to deal substantial amounts of damage to dragons. My last question, I know that Kalameet was shot prior to his battle but would he be able to fly mid-flight in the first place? because rukodiora uses his proficient flying abilities often in his fights.

I am thinking about suggesting putting Raviente (and godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/Megaguirus ) vs Male Muto and Smaug:

To answer one of Xenosmilus’ questions, so far as I can tell, Kalameet can fly for long periods of time and simultaneously breathe fire.

As for my own thoughts on the battle: I didn’t play MH3 enough to get to fighting a Rukodiora, but from what I see here, he can control magnetism, which means the arena itself could be deadly to Kalameet.
The only unique powers I know of that Kalameet has are telekinesis and the Mark of Calamity, and I can only assume that the Mark can weaken the defences of Kalameet’s foes.
