    1. League is more fun to play.

    2. As a platinum ranked player, i have to say strategy is pretty important… But… It’s just a plain old Dota game.
    Nothing overly complicated about it.
It’s more about min-maxing rather than strategy. Knowing exactly when to go where, knowing when to use what skill, knowing what item to buy to exploit what champions weakness.
You gotta get the maximum effectiveness out of everything you do. Usually without having much time to react or make lengthy decisions.

    3. Difficulty could be rated in 2 ways,
The difficulty of the Champion you’re playing.
And the difficulty of learning the game itself.

Most champions aren’t difficult. I could pick up a brand new champion for the first time, and as long as i play safe i’d end up with a good score.
The game itself however, takes me back to the previous point on making good decisions on the fly.

Too many Bronze & Silver players think they deserve to be in Diamon/Gold, and say they’re only low ranked because they get shitty teams…
And i can kind of understand that state of mind, since League is the type of game where you don’t need to make mistakes to lose, but rather you just don’t make the most efficient decisions either.
Low ranked players don’t understand that concept, and end up raging on their teammates.

    4. More variety is League hands down.
    Over 150 unique champions.
Each with several different viable builds (or an infinite number of possible builds if you’re feeling brave)
Each role/lane has a completely different feel to it, and keeps the game refreshing.

Which is more fun to play?

I have never touched world of tanks before, but I know that in tanks you only get one life in most competitive game modes. Doesn’t sound like a fun game to learn.

    Which is more strategic?

I know for a fact league takes this. Choosing 5 different champions that synergise well with each other as well as countering an enemy team comp is pretty hard.

    Which is harder to play?

League is known to be fairly easy to newcomers, but there are some champions that have a very unique play style that would take a while to master. Champions like Orianna in particular has an extreme amount of synergistic abilities in relation to other champions and a dozen different ways to combo them together for utility.

    Which has more variety?

There are currently 123 champions in league, and more coming out every month and a half or so. Every champion is wildly different compared to tanks that just roll around and shoot.

Pretty much what Pimp and Rag said. League takes fun, variety, difficulty and strategy by storm.

League’s more fun because you can play: a sniper, a female Joker with a minigun, a beholder, the personification of nightmares, a pirate, and so on and so forth.
A tank is a tank is a tank, not nearly as varied or as fun.

    1. It really comes down to your preferred genre. I like tanks more so I like WoT a lot more and played it a lot more.

    2. With only 1 life to live and more players in a match, WoT is definitely more strategic. LoL I would say is more tactical, with all the different things you can actually do once the fight begins. Especially when both sides are more organized and composed of well trained teams instead of just PuGing it.

    3. WoT is harder to play. The cost of ammunition makes climbing the ranks virtually impossible for anyone with out a hardcore dedication to the game. Repairing your tank is awfully pricey as well.

    4. Either LoL is now, or if it isn’t, it will be. There’s only so many real world tanks they can put in the game, and unlike the superior Warthunder, does not include air and sea combat aspects. Even if it could be argued that WoT is more so now, there’s no way it can keep up in the years to come, even though every tank IS unique, regardless of what the casuals here have said.

    1. League has a lot more variety and personalization. So it has the potential to be way more fun. And getting my first penta-kill was a euphoric experience. But the community has a lot of problems. I eventually gave up on League because of all the people who would quit matchs, no matter how good or bad the fight was going, and people who would report you just because they are petty. Maybe I’m just unlucky but I met a lot of those people. I have yet to se any of that in Tanks.

    2. Again, League has much more variety. But I’d actually give this to Tanks. Unlike with Leuge, were certain characters are always a huge problem and some can be made absolutely broken twords then end of a match, all the tanks in a tier are roughly equal. There stats are focused in different ways but it all rounds up the same. So really everyone is on equal terms. This means battles rely only on skill and quick desition making. The fact there are more players each match also effects strategy. You never know how a match will turn out. With League it’s the same strategy every time but with Tanks anything can happen.

    3. Both games have a very different play style and neither is super unfair so this really depends on personal ability.

4.League. No question . But I’ll take better gameplay any day.

*Which is more fun to play?*

Apples and oranges but I got more hours on LoL so I guess I side with that.

    *Which is more strategic?*

WoT by far. All tanks are unique, multiple choices of ammunition, multiple choices of consumables (but can only choose 3 I believe), multiple choices of equipment to load on your tank, crew training. And these are just the pre-match choices. In a game you need to be mindfull off:
positioning of both your tactical postition and how to make the most of your frontal armor, gun repression, reload speed, acceleration, accuracy and when you get in combat you must be mindfull of:
The enemy’s position and frontal armor, his reload speed, his allies so that you won’t get knocked up on your flanks or worse, your rear and every tank has flaws or weakspots that can be exploited with a well placed shot. Also, if you get hit your tank might suffer damage to one of your many modules such as your tracks or turret which will all effect the performance of your tank.

LoL is by no means a simple game but you need to be far more aware of yourself and the enemy in WoT.

    *Which is harder to play?*

As explained above my vote goes to WoT. Though the community in LoL is a challange on itself.

    *Which has more variety?*

LoL has I think. Every tank might be unique but they’re not nearly as defined or different than the many LoL champions. But Wot is close IMO with it’s huge map variety which heavily influence the gameplay of each match.

“League’s more fun because you can play: a sniper, a female Joker with a minigun, a beholder, the personification of nightmares, a pirate, and so on and so forth.”

Caitlyn, Jinx, Velkoz, Nocturne, GP..? xD
Only cait & jinx are ranked “viable” unfortunately.

The meta has gotten too stale. There’s only a handful of champs that NEED to be picked for each role.
Unless you’re trying to counter your enemy.

  8. pimpmage December 23, 2014 at 9:56 am -      #8

The there is no meta in casual play. People play what is fun.

  9. Ragnorke December 23, 2014 at 10:59 am -      #9

    @pimpmage
    It’s a competitive game though.
There’s always a clear goal to each match: Victory.
It isn’t an open-world game, or an RPG, where there’s no purpose/goal to it.

All the balance changes, item changes, they all revolve around balancing Competitive play. Not Casual play.
The game has a clear emphases on competitive ranks.

And in order to climb the ladder, there’s a clear Meta that needs to be followed.

“The there is no meta in casual play. People play what is fun.”

That’s like a soccer player grabbing the ball with his hands and throwing it into his own goal, and saying: “Who needs to win the competitive match? this is more fun!”

  10. Friendlysociopath December 23, 2014 at 11:50 am -      #10

    @Rag, and Pimp
When you play blind-pick it really opens up the champion pool you’re exposed to. Do people still want to win? Sure. But they’ll use whichever ADC they want. Will they still try the OP ones? Yeah, but they’ll use others too, blind-pick is the mode you choose when you don’t want to deal with the same 3 champs in each lane.

Personally I don’t deal with ranked beyond my provisionals, that’s it.

Hell, it’s fun to use non-meta champions for ranked- I take Malzahar mid and half the players don’t actually know what he does until he destroys them.

That’s like a soccer player grabbing the ball with his hands and throwing it into his own goal, and saying: “Who needs to win the competitive match? this is more fun!”

Not your best analogy eh? A decent analogy for LoL meta-breaking would be… making the QB in American Football be one of the guys who holds the line.

“If it works you’re a genius, if it fails you’re reported.”
What I tell meta-breakers when I see them, sums up most of League pretty well.

  11. Ragnorke December 23, 2014 at 12:05 pm -      #11

” blind-pick is the mode you choose when you don’t want to deal with the same 3 champs in each lane.”

True, but blind-pick isn’t the “default” game mode.
Matches are expected to be played in Draft, from the developers standpoint.

“Hell, it’s fun to use non-meta champions for ranked- I take Malzahar mid and half the players don’t actually know what he does until he destroys them”

Yea… Umm… It doesn’t work like that in higher ranks xD
Everyone i know my rank and above, is already experienced with every champion in the game.

I can’t say i’m good with every champion, but i do know how to play against every one.
And i consider myself a pretty average player for my ranking.

Seriously though, Malz mid is a GREAT counter to a lot of picks.
Would i recommend picking him without knowing your opponent? Hell no.

  12. Friendlysociopath December 23, 2014 at 12:21 pm -      #12

Matches are expected to be played in Draft, from the developers standpoint.

True, the developers have made it super-clear they want LoL around for the long-term, meaning the competitive scene is much more important than the casuals.

Seriously though, Malz mid is a GREAT counter to a lot of picks. Would i recommend picking him without knowing your opponent? Hell no.

For the life of me I don’t know why people pick Katarina for mid- do they want me to destroy them? I don’t even mean Malz- I beat Kat with anyone.

That said, that’s probably the biggest reason some people don’t like draft- you’re just going to get countered once you pick first.

Malz is so easy to counter too, just build QSS XD

  13. pimpmage December 23, 2014 at 12:30 pm -      #13

“For the life of me I don’t know why people pick Katarina for mid- do they want me to destroy them? I don’t even mean Malz- I beat Kat with anyone.”

Because it takes like two kill steals for her top easily carry early game. That combined with the fact that you can slap your keyboard or just roll your face on your qwer keys to get a Pentakill makes her a stupid champ.

  14. Ragnorke December 23, 2014 at 12:38 pm -      #14

“For the life of me I don’t know why people pick Katarina for mid- do they want me to destroy them? I don’t even mean Malz- I beat Kat with anyone.”

My best friend plays kata 9/10 matches, and he’s almost diamond Ranked.
He carries pretty much every match he plays.
Countering a good Kata is easier said than done.

“That said, that’s probably the biggest reason some people don’t like draft- you’re just going to get countered once you pick first.”

That’s why the trade/switch system exists.
You get your support to pick first, and then switch with him once everyone has picked their champs.

The system works much better in higher ranks, where all the players already have most of the champions.

“Because it takes like two kill steals for her top easily carry early game.”

They aren’t kill steals if it’s done by a carry.
Really annoys me when people say that.
If anything, you should go out of your way to give them the kills.

  15. Hitman H94 December 23, 2014 at 12:42 pm -      #15

I just play team builder when I don’t do ranked, much less hassle than doing blind pick.

They aren’t kill steals if it’s done by a carry.
Really annoys me when people say that.
If anything, you should go out of your way to give them the kills.”
Depends on what the champs are, if its is somone like Kat getting kills, i don’t mind but if its someone like an /0/9 rene I would rather have it lol.

  16. pimpmage December 23, 2014 at 1:02 pm -      #16

I meant kill steal relating to an enemy kat basically last hitting an allied champ one or twice to start steam rolling. Of course you would give kills to your team’s hyper carries. You don’t want that for the enemy team.

  17. Ragnorke December 23, 2014 at 2:36 pm -      #17

” i don’t mind but if its someone like an /0/9 rene I would rather have it lol.”

    But… Renekton isn’t a carry…

  18. Belisaurius January 31, 2015 at 5:32 pm -      #18

Kill stealing is a minor concern in WoT. You get points for hits scored and points earned. Even if all you could do is immobilize a KV-1 for three seconds you still get rewarded. Even if you could only spot a target for a moment so long as that moment has value you get rewarded.

Wargaming has figured out how to train it’s playerbase to be tea players. And for that I salute it.

  19. Xornell January 31, 2015 at 8:17 pm -      #19

    > Filthy casual league players.
Never played WoT, so probably League.
League probably has a bigger and more complex meta, making it more strategic.
Easier? League. It’s like Dota with training wheels and 12 year olds.
    League wins variety, too.
    > Filthy casual League beats WoT.
