For this match we have Strider Hiryu (Strider) facing off against Vergil from the Devil May Cry franchise.

They fight in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Who would win?

Is this composite Virgil or current?

Eitherway I’m going with Virgil.
His sword can cut through dimensions and shit. I don’t see strider surviving that.

It’s the Vergil from the original series. I heard from my friend that the reboot versions were weaker, so I went with original.

Don’t know a lot about Vergil, but isn’t he just blue Dante? and isn’t Dante nigh unkillable with regen hax and what not.

While you are right about this, that lady (don’t remember her name, she was boring) in DMC3 blocked Vergil sword with modern gun. For a long time.

I’m not saying strider can’t block it. I’m saying strider won’t survive if hit.
Virgil on the other hand would take the hits quite casually by comparison… I think…

His regen hax wears down after a bit, it’s dependent on the amount of energy Dante has left. If Strider can keep up the fight long enough Dante’s regen starts to decrease.

Not to mention Dante has never been shown to recover from a severed limb or anything serious beyond impalement. I personally think he can but there’s no evidence to support it.

Good to be back.

Now, to work. Strider is well above peak human, but vergil is roughly equal to Devil May Cry 3 era dante, and that puts him easy at the physical advantage here. Yamato is a hell of a weapon, and my personal favorite outside agni and rudra. But in terms of equipment, Striders sheer arsenal matches, if not very slightly out-paces vergil on that front. That all considered, here is how i see this playing out. Strider keeps vergil at bay for as long as he can throw his options at him and just BARELY parry his shots. Problem is, Vergil’s stamina is nigh infinite in comparison. This fight lasts about as long as the gas in Strider’s tank.

Strider’s sword is also some kind of energy blade if I recall correctly or it can emit energy…. something along those lines, he also has a robot eagle, and panther but I’m not sure those would be allowed. Death Battles did a great job going over his abilities though.

The third scan I posted shows his swords cutting properties. On the bottom panel, one guy states that it can cut through ceramic armor.

To clarify on what Strider is dodging in the scan on 17.
It’s a shadow tag bullet.
It’s fired from a machine gun with some advanced radar that can track and accurately hit a target. It also has the power of anti-aircraft fire, so it would be pretty fast to be an anti-aircraft weapon.
Aside from that, he’s capable of dodging, blocking and deflecting bullets in his 2014 game.

His standard equipment is…
The Falchion- A Plasma cipher that can cut and burn its way through. It can be upgraded to be explosive, ultra-cold(freezes enemies), and magnetic(which allows for plasma projectiles).

Kunais- Bounce off of walls, explosive kunais, ultra cold kunai’s(freeze enemies too), and magnetic ones(which has homing abilities)

Options- Summons on robots such as two twin saucers making a shield and shooting projectiles, a panther robot which attacks by ramming into enemies, and an eagle which can attack from above.

Which in turn is an adaptation of the events in the manga, Striders home canon. Does this mean game feats are allowed too?

They meant the first (and second arcade) games since it always features Strider sent to defeat Meio.
The NES game, which was released in US only, is based on the manga, but doesn’t feature Meio, so it’s not the Nes one.

As far as I’m aware, the manga is part of the games since it was specifically made to be a tie-in.

Where did he get 1/101 from?
It also assumes that he did 5 more swings six times rather than 5 swings that reached all of them once considering the range it can reach despite the length of the sword.
