SOUL EATER
Considered a modern classic by some, this bizarre tale about a strange Academy run by Death itself tells the tale of a young girl and the unusual friends she makes there as she seeks achieve the ultimate goal of turning her humanoid, talking weapon in to a DEATH SCYTHE. But there’s more going on than initially assumed in this humorous, action packed tale! BankGambling presents the first four episodes in this saga as an introduction to one of the most popular animes of today, featured already both on Netflix and Cartoon Network. If you’ve been missing out, then now’s the chance to finally delve in!
Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 3
Episode 4
I would definitely recommend this anime, it’s one of my favorites. I’d make matches with the characters but they’re pretty low-tier as far as anime characters go.

If you want people to blow up mountains with their fights this isn’t the anime for you.

The animation is interesting and this is probably the first anime I’ve seen where the scythe user actually has some technique to their attacks.
Not to mention the series has an inherent… wackiness to it that some find appealing.
The sun and moon have faces and are always laughing- just to give an example.
Soul eater!!!! Watch it now
I, mostly, really enjoy the Soul Eater anime. Its stylish, has a cool goth/Tim Burton flair to it, the characters are all fun and memorable, and BONES gives it top-notch animation.
BUT.
A bit over half way, the anime caught up to the manga, and instead of doing filler, they ended up diverging, and made up their own ending.
The ending, while not bad per se, is not NEARLY as good as the manga content that follows. The following manga arc is one of my favorites, so I’m hoping that Soul Eater gets a Brotherhood adaption sooner or later.
Don’t watch the anime, the manga is so much better. The anime devolves into a completely hopeless filler halfway in. The manga continues with a much better story and ending. 10/10 would recommend.

Haha really? Blackstar swallowed a nuke explosion and spat it out. I think you underestimate them.

Stein’s got a couple matches on here. Black Star was in a match with Naruto…which has gone very downhill for him now, so there’s already a couple of them
O_O
Okay, the manga is far more impressive than the anime.

@Jake, and they lost them all, miserably. At least the ones I’ve seen. I could be tempted to put Stein against Batman just for the heck of it…
–
I think Soul Eater is the only series that I have a tie for favorite character, between Stein and Mifune. Are they OP in the manga as well?
(I will always like the anime more for their resolution of Mifune’s arc)
Edit: Pfft, there’s a coincidence, Paper Moon just started playing on my PC
Dude, you can binge through the manga so much faster than any anime, just read it. Put it on your list of fun things to do.
This series has colorful and cool expressions, its so expressive even the Sun and Moon themselves are expressive.
Even the one ‘Token’ ‘known’ Shinigami is expressive, and it’s amazing.
Tsubaki does have a nice chest though. -////-
Though seriously speaking, this series is Expressive, how often do we see series so Expressive?

It was interesting anime, but I liked manga better.
So, been watching Soul Eater, almost done. Pretty entertaining anime, really wanting to read the manga, but I’m not sure if I should start from the beginning or just start where the manga and anime start branching off from each other. Any suggestions?

Two things I wanna say about it: 1. I’m really curious to see what would happen if Excalibur got a Meister and became a Death Scythe, because as far as we know he hasn’t eaten any Kishin eggs nor has he eaten a Witch’s soul and as he was he made the weakest Meister take on three of the best students at the DWMA. Which leads me to believe he’d become exponentially better if he were to become a Death Scythe and be wielded by Lord Death. 2. Mifune and Alexander Andersen need a match together or against each other.
