What If…Batman Got the Omnitrix from Ben 10?

What If...Batman Got the Omnitrix from Ben 10?

Suggested by JMT

Batman (DC Comics) acquires the Omnitrix from Ben 10.

He has 6 months to learn it’s abilities with no distractions.

How would this impact the DC world?

He would be even more overpowered than usual.

What keeps Batman in limits (most of the time) despite his PIS is him being only human.
    .
Batman with Omnitrix? Have you ever heard of universal-level characters who also happen to have absurd prepping abilities?

Well he could get Kryptonian DNA and finally beat Superman fair and square!

He’d probably figure out the master code within the time limit, he’d then be pretty OP.

    “is him being only human.”

Batman is super-human, whether people want to admit it or not.
His speed feats are actually above Captain America.

“Have you ever heard of universal-level characters who also happen to have absurd prepping abilities?”

    Thanos?

“Well he could get Kryptonian DNA!”

    …What?
Umm… You might wanna do a little research on what “DNA” means.

“He gives it back to Ben.”

I think we assume there is no Ben in the DC universe.
I think he’d just keep it in the batcave as a back up.

“and finally beat Superman fair and square!”

Superman > Anything the Omnitrix has, with the exception of the Nigh-omnipotent one (which Batman would never use)

  9. Cassie Hack October 21, 2014 at 12:32 pm -      #9

The omnitrix scans aliens to get their DNA, this then allows the owner to become one of that alien race. Though I doubt he would be as a strong as Superman at the start, becuase the omnitrix would make him a kryptonian that doesn’t have the same level of exposure to sunlight that Supes actually has. Though this also means he could scan Darkseid, Doomsday etc, etc.

  10. Ragnorke October 21, 2014 at 12:51 pm -      #10

“The omnitrix scans aliens to get their DNA, this then allows the owner to become one of that alien race. ”

Ohhhhhhh, so it works with ANY alien? That’s interesting.
    Sorry Ellie :3

” Though this also means he could scan Darkseid, Doomsday etc, etc.”

Arguable if it would work or not…

  11. Warlock Lowk October 21, 2014 at 1:29 pm -      #11

“Arguable if it would work or not…”

It works on things already similar to them. Hell it works on some energy beings somehow.
Ben 10 is like a mash up of comics, 90’s cartoons, and sci fi. They’ve got spoofs of everything ranging from cow and chicken to Dr. Who.

Well there is that chromastone thing. You can shatter him to piece and he’ll still be able to reform. He possess planet destroying/rebuilding energy. And he’d just absorb heat vision. Can reach speeds fast enough to travel to planets in other system. Mix that kryptonite crystal for power and that could be dangerous for Supes.

“The omnitrix scans aliens to get their DNA, this then allows the owner to become one of that alien race. ”

I’m assuming the answer is a heavy “no” for a variety of reasons, but does DC has any Omnipotents Bats could scan and would he be able to become one if he scanned it?

  13. Ragnorke October 21, 2014 at 1:50 pm -      #13

“Well there is that chromastone thing. You can shatter him to piece and he’ll still be able to reform.”

What if its shattered/melted on an atomic level? or a sub atomic level?
Ten bucks says it doesn’t have that sort of durability feat.

    “He possess planet destroying/rebuilding energy”

Superman is far above. Far far above.

“And he’d just absorb heat vision”

Has he absorbed something hotter than the core of a star?

“Can reach speeds fast enough to travel to planets in other system”

Supes reaches speeds fast enough to travel to planets in other galaxies.

I’d like to see that played out in a comic.

Thanos attempt to physical crush Batman.
    Batman: I’m intagible now.
Thanos: witness my intangible scrambler ray.
    Batman:Now I absorb energy.
Thanos: How about my life seeking death sphere?
Batman: Nope, undead alien ghost… Also intangible again.
    Thanos: Flesh eating space worms!
Batman: ftl capable alien made of sentient crystals.
    Thanos: ….. Infinity gauntlet?
Batman: Uh, oh sorry I was busy recreating the entire universe so my parents never died…. Should probably bring my son back too huh?
Superman: Bruce I think need to let someone else hold the watch now.

  15. Ragnorke October 21, 2014 at 1:57 pm -      #15

OH btw… How long does it take the omnitrix to change from one form to the other?
Millisecond? second? couple of seconds? FTL?

  16. Warlock Lowk October 21, 2014 at 2:17 pm -      #16

“Superman is far above. Far far above.”

    Current Superman? Really? Huh.
    ===
“What if its shattered/melted on an atomic level? or a sub atomic level?”

Guess you’d win that ten. When has Clark done that?
    ===
“Has he absorbed something hotter than the core of a star?”

No the only thing involving sun(chromastone wise) was when he was fixing there planet. He was close but I don’t think he was that close to be hit with that level heat.
Also where is it stated that Supes is capable of that kind of heat again? I recall the old supes having something like that but the current one?
    ===
“Millisecond? second? couple of seconds? FTL?”

Not sure actually. Master control he seems to be able to turn instantly from one to the next.
From human the fastest I can recall is that ben didn’t turn into anything as a a giant rock was literally just about to crush him. Didn’t even see him transform. But there also the having to look up which alien your pick or risk turning into random aliens.
So instantly with master control and limited to the users speed without.

  17. Ragnorke October 21, 2014 at 2:29 pm -      #17

    “Current Superman? Really? Huh.”

Shall i determine the energy required to lift Earth for 5 days straight?
Keeping in mind he had no sunlight the entire time.

“Guess you’d win that ten. When has Clark done that?”

His heat vision would do that.

“Also where is it stated that Supes is capable of that kind of heat again? I recall the old supes having something like that but the current one?”

I’ll need to find a scan for it.
Pretty sure new52 heat vision is still as hot as the sun.

“Master control he seems to be able to turn instantly from one to the next.”

I’m assuming reaction time is still a factor?

  18. Warlock Lowk October 21, 2014 at 2:51 pm -      #18

“Shall i determine the energy required to lift Earth for 5 days straight?”

Wouldn’t the five days be part of endurance and stamina though? I mean he lifted it yeah but isn’t that the only thing that counts towards the actually strength in the feat?….. Also yes.
    ===
“Pretty sure new52 heat vision is still as hot as the sun.”

Then Graves is a lot more heat resistant then I thought.
    ===
“I’m assuming reaction time is still a factor?”

Probably and likely dependent on the alien he is at the time. At the least I recall young Ben was transforming with barely a thought when it first unlocked. But that was the old one, I’m trying to remember how or if it worked differently with the new ones. I know the second one had him having to slap the thing first to change. But that was built by someone else.
    ===
What about the kryptonite charged scenario? Or Other aliens like the one that can turn into electricity and invade a person brain?

The aliens in the omnitrix would definitely have names that are far less cool sounding…

  23. Guardian Dualgunner M1911A1 October 21, 2014 at 3:38 pm -      #23

I dunno; something tells me he would call the aliens by their actual species names (assuming he ever learned them). That, or he could always get some outside help in naming his forms.

  24. Warlock Lowk October 21, 2014 at 4:07 pm -      #24

Cyborg could probably help with info stored on it.

  25. Guardian Dualgunner M1911A1 October 21, 2014 at 4:21 pm -      #25

Cyborg would have Batman constantly transforming into Upgrade to upgrade Cyborg.

I would lol if that happened XD

  26. Ragnorke October 21, 2014 at 4:51 pm -      #26

” I mean he lifted it yeah but isn’t that the only thing that counts towards the actually strength in the feat?”

….Strength is a matter of muscle functionality, so if someone can lift a weight more than once before his muscles fail, he’s stronger than someone whos muscles fail after lifting it just once.
Continues lifting is NOT a stamina feat, since it primarily revolves on flexing/stretching your muscles.

    “….. Also yes.”

Assuming average starting lift takes 1 seconds, average starting descent takes 1 seconds.
Towards the end of the 5th day, he would be weaker, so we could assume his average lift takes 5 seconds, and average descent takes 5 seconds.
Averaging out the time for a lift/descent as 6 seconds over the course of 120 hours.
Which results in 48000 total lifts.

Supermans arms length is approx. 0.75m
    Weight of Earth is 6,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000kg (6 x 10^24)

    E = mgh = 6 x 10^24 x 10 x 0.75 = 45 x 10^24 J Per lift.
Bringing the weight back down safely, requires approx half the energy required to lift it. so 22.5 x 10^24 J

    Total E per 6 seconds = 67.5 x 10^24 J
    Total E over 5 days = 3.24 x 10^30 J

Now, the energy required to totally disintegrate Earth is 2.25 x 10^32 J…
And as everyone knows, disintegrating something takes much much MUCH more energy than simply breaking something into a couple of pieces.

As a conclusion, Clark could break Earth hundreds of times before he grows too weak… and this is all WITHOUT ANY SUNLIGHT.

  27. Ragnorke October 21, 2014 at 5:20 pm -      #27

For the record… Something interesting i found out just now…
The weight of the Sun is 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg (2 x 10^30)

    E = mgh = 1.5 x 10^31

That’s right, New52 Superman can almost bench the Sun.

Also, worth keeping this in mind:

    static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11111/111116419/3278423-2793485-2663768_sm_13_1%5B1%5D.jpg

Not only was this feat done without any sunlight for 5 days… Clark went as far as to say “That’s it?” & “that actually made me sweat” When he finished… implying he could casually go on for another 5 days.

  28. Friendlysociopath October 21, 2014 at 5:36 pm -      #28

“Not only was this feat done without any sunlight for 5 days… Clark went as far as to say “That’s it?” & “that actually made me sweat” When he finished… implying he could casually go on for another 5 days.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the use of ellipses between every word imply incredible effort is being used? Superman would be doing the equivalent of gasping for air between every word in that picture- that’s not “casual”. It might not be incredibly hard, but it wasn’t easy.

  29. Ragnorke October 21, 2014 at 6:07 pm -      #29

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t the use of ellipses between every word imply incredible effort is being used? ”

Heavy breathing =/= incredible effort… It means his heart rate it up, but that has nothing to do with muscle failure.

Anyway, on Batman. He now has access to multiple sources of material ranging from kryptonian to gods. The question is what limit would he put on himself? Maybe like only an our of time spent as a kryptonian. or maybe something less powerful, like grey matter something that could in the right hands advance the state human technology and/or medicine in a few days.

  31. Parry Boy October 22, 2014 at 6:49 am -      #31

He would probably overuse Grey Matter and Toepick.
    Especially Toepick.

  33. Warlock Lowk October 22, 2014 at 3:00 pm -      #33

Apparently if you interrupt there debates enough you can get them to give you control so they can debate in peace. At least ben’s were like that. If the personality are based off the the user then bats is going to find it hard dealing with his mean side. Batman himself is a bit of a fun sucker.
    *deep brooding voice*
“No clark you can’t end a war overseas and fix all the worlds problems. we’re heroes not gods. Dianaputyourhanddown!”

    That more or less happened.

  34. Parry Boy October 22, 2014 at 5:18 pm -      #34

Clark: Dangit batman I’ll solve the world’s problems first and you can sit back with your cosmic ass all day without being gritty. Deal?

  35. Ragnorke October 22, 2014 at 5:35 pm -      #35

I don’t think Batman would ever use nigh-omnipotence power. Ever.
It goes against his morals of “We’re not meant to be gods”

Also, how far does the Omnitrixes nigh-omnipotence go? Best feats? Best claims?

  36. Jake_Uzumaki October 22, 2014 at 5:49 pm -      #36

Alien X was used to rebuild an entire universe so universe level.

“Also, how far does the Omnitrixes nigh-omnipotence go? Best feats? Best claims?”

Surviving a universe destroyer then recreating said universe that was destroyed. Growing to the size where you star seeing individual galaxies off in the distance instead of the planets in them. Creating a black whole to big enough to pull said giant in it. Said giant surviving that event.
Low end their small scale fist fight was destroying small planet or moons.

  38. Ragnorke October 22, 2014 at 8:08 pm -      #38

    huh…. damn
Never woulda guessed ben10 has that sort oh High-Ends

However, Silver Age Superman still stomps.

    “Surviving a universe destroyer”

Antimonitor was a multiverse destroyer. Guess who put him in his place?

“then recreating said universe that was destroyed.”

Captain Atom has recreated the Universe. He got killed by Superboy Prime (which resulted in the end of the universe)
    Superman Prime > Superboy Prime.

He sun-dipped for 15,000 years, broke through the Source wall and met the Presence, and has the embodiment of Eon inside him.

Not the hero that we deserve, but the hero we need.

I dislike the portrayals of a lot of my favourite Marvel characters. So meh.
Andddddd lets face it, every plot in every Marvel movie so far has sucked donkey balls.

I’m fairly certain some of the writers are big fans of the high tier Sci-fi and anime so it’s understandable. The celestialsapien fight looked like something out of Gurren Lagann and another episode had a bomb that got rid of alternate universes.A doctor who expy who can lock of place int time and space and go in between universes.
    ===
Speaking of which I think the omnitrix would make bats a target. One of the species in it can cancel out or cause verse erasure. Imagine if someone got a hold of that, like almost everyone in the multiverse who hates superman. They could get rid of everyone of them except the weakest one in the weakest universe.

    @Jake Totally agree!
Age of Ultron 2 and a half hours of awesome! and superheros being superheros.
Batman v Superman 3 hours of mopeing and superheros being emo 14 year olds.

Ummmmm…..WHAT!?! Marvel’s plots have been fine, nothing great a little
simplistic sure, but DC’s have actually offended me with their stupidity.

    @Epicazeroth
“They’re planning Civil War for the MCU next.”

It’s going to be Captain America 3, and it’s actually just Cap vs Ironman/Shield.
They could just be original and make interesting new plots instead of oversimplifying and shitting on epic comic events.

However, i can definitely see WWH happening, and you can’t really fuck that up.
So i’m excited for when that happens.

Another event i would be extremely happy to see is “Siege”
They’ve already shown Asgard multiple times, so it would be cool to see it wage war on Earth.

Of course, both WWH & Siege would be a million times more epic if they stick to the comics and introduce Sentry (who in my opinion can have a fantastic solo introduction movie too)

I must say i’m happy to see the Infinity Gauntlet. It would be great to see Thanos simultaneously beating the shit out of everyone… Since Avengers 1 seriously lacked an epic “Boss fight”
And from the looks of it, Avengers 2 won’t be having an epic Boss fight either, since Ultron multiplies himself into thousands of suits.

  46. Jake_Uzumaki October 22, 2014 at 10:20 pm -      #46

“Ummmmm…..WHAT!?! Marvel’s plots have been fine, nothing great a little
    simplistic sure,”

    Simplistic. Very very very simplistic.
Like EVERY SINGLE SCENE was predictable.
There were no memorable quotes or plot points to be honest, other than the comedy ones.
And don’t even get me started on the plot-convenience.

“but DC’s have actually offended me with their stupidity”

The Dark Knight was a Visual & Audio masterpiece, and was a movie for people that enjoy depth to their characters rather than seeing flying colors and punches.
    Man of Steel was… Disappointing.

  49. Ragnorke October 22, 2014 at 10:29 pm -      #49

Going by the trailer though, this movie actually does seem to have depth, and a more adult theme, a much more adult theme.
So should be better than the last.

  50. Jake_Uzumaki October 22, 2014 at 10:38 pm -      #50

  51. Warlock Lowk October 22, 2014 at 10:44 pm -      #51

    “and superheros being superheros.”

Come on, Avengers plays out more like a team of wacky misfits then superheroes. And that’s why I liked that version of them.
    ===
“Batman v Superman 3 hours of mopeing and superheros being emo 14 year olds.”

Nah, they can’t have them both moping at the same time. That Batman’s thing. Supes already gotten through his moping period in the last movie. I hope he’s more like that part of the movie where he finds out he can fly.
    ===
“And also Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor that can never be forgotten..”

I find it hilarious that someone compared the sociopathic Lex Luthor to Mark Zuckerberg. Was he really that evil in social network.

  52. Darth Bombad October 22, 2014 at 10:48 pm -      #52

The Dark Knight was great…..The Dark Knight Rises made my head hurt.
My suspension of disbelief max’d out within the first hour, and i stopped
counting all of the plot holes at about 50 or so.

Man of Steel was crushingly bad and i have blocked out Green Lantern.
Damn it! happyplace happyplace happyplace…what was i saying?.

The Sentry must happen, Man of Steel action and darkness/depression.
Without utterly destroying one of the most classic superheros of all time.

No Love for ‘I am Groot,’ anyone!?
    You people sadden me more than you know. ;_;

Granted I’d like Doctor Strange, Black Panther Iron Man more as far as Marvel Combatants are concerned, but in terms of Epic Quotes from the MCU thus far, ‘I am Groot’ is Amazing!

The Guardians of The Galaxy movie is an Above-Average movie in itself even when stand-alone, while still bringing major things to the table for the MCU.

Groot is Cool, and I apologize for not being too intrigued by him in the past before I saw the Movie!*

    —-

Anyway, Batman with the Omnitrix vs Superman would be Batman’s fight to lose if Batman gets The Right Aliens to work with, and that’s assuming we’re not talking about any of the Non-Standard versions of Comic!-Superman, the Non-Standard versions of Supes that BLEED OUT HAX all over the place just by existing.

1.) (Granted I didn’t learn more about Groot’s home group in Marvel before I saw the movie either, so not the point! )

  54. Ragnorke October 22, 2014 at 10:54 pm -      #54

    @Jake
They’re collectively known as the Dark Knight Trilogy.
Any one of the three trumps every Marvel movie as far as Dialogue, plot, and depth goes. However, the 2nd was in fact my favourite.

    @Bombard
“Age of Ultron 2 and a half hours of awesome! and superheros being superheros.
Batman v Superman 3 hours of mopeing and superheros being emo 14 year olds.”

To be fair, Superheroes in the comics ARE usually emo.
And they very rarely have their all out badass asskicking phases.

DC is a much better representation of how real life superheroes would interact with the world. And i like the sense of realism.
Also worth noting the dialogue & music in DC movies are usually fantastic.

Marvel movies = Mix of romance, comedy, and action… Where the plot is always cliche, predictable, and boring, but you watch it anyways caus seeing colourful heroes doing hero things is fun.

Plotholes in Rises like how the fuck did he get back to Gotham if he was bankrupt and had no ID of any kind.
    or
Why did he waste who knows how long setting up a burning bat symbol on the side of a fucking bridge!

“The Dark Knight Rises made my head hurt.
My suspension of disbelief max’d out within the first hour, and i stopped
counting all of the plot holes at about 50 or so.”

It still had less plot-convenience & plot-shielding than Marvel movies.

I mean… Thor 2… They’re in a completely different realm, in a completely different part of the multiverse, and out of ALL places in that realm… OH LOOK, IT’S THAT CHICKS CELLPHONE FROM THE BEGGING OF THE MOVIE…
AND OH LOOK, THERE’S FUCKING MOBILE SERVICE…

GotG was fantastic. I liked it because it wasn’t TRYING to take itself seriously, and it was a great comedy.
Other Marvel movies though, do try to take themselves seriously… Which leads to me laughing at all the terrible plot issues.

I daresay I take pride we all see eye-to-eye in regards to that movie.

My general downside in regards to Marvel is that I’ve been raised with regards to the Live-Action versions of various Marvel Combatants and Factions, hence part of the reasons why I’d often ask on the various versions in play.

    ___

Anyway, which version of Batman from DC Comics are we talking, with The Omnitrix?
A Hell of a Difference be made.

“Rises had far more sins than Avengers did.”

Every Marvel movie besides the Avengers had the most cases of Plot-Convenience in the entire channel.
    Besides maybe Harry Potter.

“Now all they need is to dip into that Sony pool and so they can share that on guy in red and blue. Then I’ll be a happy nerd.”

Fantastic Four play a much larger role in the Marvel universe than Spiderman though! :(
Also, I’d like to see Sentry more than anyone. They can match him up with WWH & Thor.
They can literally just take Sentry #1 and make it a movie, exactly the way it is.

I know, just talk about as far as Avenger crew goes.
Though I hope marvel has Galactus. I don’t care where he’s put in, he needs a better version the giant evil cloud. I know he’s a force of nature and all but come on, if a celestial can be in movies so can big G.

  63. Ragnorke October 23, 2014 at 12:00 am -      #63

“Though I hope marvel has Galactus.”

10 bucks says Marvel makes him the last surviving evil rogue Celestial.
Totally seems like something the cinema universe would do.

I’m actually surprised there haven’t been any easter eggs yet.
Is Thanos really going to get his nigh-omnipotent Infinity Gauntlet, before we get to see Galactus?!?! REALLY?!

Sword of Truth* has far more sins than The Marvel Live-Action Movies, The DC Live-Action Movies and The Potter-world Combined!

Why even if you combine Both Full Metal Alchemist Animes and All The ‘Canon’ Dot Hack(.Hack) shows put together with the above, Sword of Truth still ‘wins’ with the Most Plot-Holes.

Though aren’t we meant to focus on Marvel or DC though?

We can save the Plot-Hole riddled regards outside of Marvel and DC or even Image Comics for another time.

1.) (Hell Yeah I went there, Somebody’s GOT TO GO THERE or otherwise we suffer a Horrible case of Negligence.
Bad enough the Dot Hack(.Hack) universe seldom gets any real love or appreciation as a Universe anymore, worse still if we neglect the WORST offenders in terms of Plot-Holes.)

“They’re planning Civil War for the MCU next.”

Yea, that’s gonna be fun. Seriously, by the time that comes out, the MCU is going to be ridiculously huge.
    =
“Going by the trailer though, this movie actually does seem to have depth, and a more adult theme, a much more adult theme.
So should be better than the last.”

Who cares if it’s more “adult” than the last one? In my opinion that’s what made Avengers so much better than MoS or the DKT. Didn’t seem to take itself seriously like those did.
    =
“DC is a much better representation of how real life superheroes would interact with the world. And i like the sense of realism.”

This is exactly why I don’t like them as much as Marvel’s films. I HATE that they try so hard to be realistic. If I want to see something realistic, I’ll go experience the real world. I DON’T want it forced down my throat in my entertainment as well. I read comics, books, and mangas to escape reality. I play video games to escape reality. I watch movies, animes, cartoons, TV shows, and internet videos to escape reality. I don’t want reality shoved down my throat anymore than it already is.
    =
“Also worth noting the dialogue & music in DC movies are usually fantastic.”

Catwoman, Green Lantern, Supergirl, Batman & Robin, Steel, Jonah Hex, Steel, Supes 3&4, etc…
    =
“So Marvel decided fuck it here’s the HD version of the trailer, enjoy.”

DSFSDFLJ:LKSDO:VKHSDL:KVSDJFLSDHFKNDCLKSDH:LFJDS:LKFHB:SDKCLSBDVKCLJSDLFH Agents of SHIELD SAID IT’D BE RELEASED NEXT WEEK!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like the scale and level of action is going to be better than it was in Man of Steel and DoFP.

UGH!!!! X-Men Apocalypse and Avengers Age of Ultron are the movies I’m most looking forward to now!!!!
    =
So, let’s see: It’s going to be Ultron vs Thor, Hulk, War Machine, Iron Man, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Captain America, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Mariah Hill, and Hawkeye. Holy. Shit.
    =
So, yea, Civil War seems pretty likely at this point… So, by 2018(assuming they wait another 3 years for Avengers 3)they’re going to have the following characters already:

    Iron Man
    Nick Fury
    Hulk
    Black Widow
    War Machine
    Thor
    Hawkeye
    Captain America
    Mariah Hill
    Falcon
    Scarlet Witch
    Quicksilver
    Vision
    Ant Man
    Doctor Strange
    Daredevil
    Luke Cage
    Jessica Jones
    Iron Fist
    Mockingbird

This is also just the characters we do know are confirmed/have already been shown. Civil War could really be a thing by the looks at it, and it could be a major thing by the looks of how many heroes are in it now.
    =
    @Rag It’s a manga, anime, and/or video game series

You realize there’s thousands of “realistic” movie masterpieces out there right? Do you not watch any of them either? o.o
I never got people that don’t like something because it’s too realistic.

“I play video games to escape reality. I watch movies, animes, cartoons, TV shows, and internet videos to escape reality.”

Well… we watch movies, animes, and TV shows for very different reasons then

“Catwoman, Green Lantern, Supergirl, Batman & Robin, Steel, Jonah Hex, Steel, Supes 3&4, etc…”

Pretty sure we were discussing the new generation movies.

“It looks like the scale and level of action is going to be better than it was in Man of Steel”

Hulkbuster & Hulk were barely destroying a side walk…
    But still looks badass.

“Civil War seems pretty likely at this point… So, by 2018(assuming they wait another 3 years for Avengers 3)they’re going to have the following characters already”

Civil War was confirmed as a Captain America movie, and not an Avengers movie. I’ll try and find you the link.
Thor & Hulk won’t be in it, which is good, caus they didn’t take part in the comics either.
We’ll likely see a ton of cameos, but it’s primarily going to revolve around Cap (and crew) vs Ironman (and shield)

  68. Ragnorke October 23, 2014 at 1:19 pm -      #68

Honestly, the Marvel movies could have kept their witty sense of humour, and crazy superhero-esq realism, but just made better plots.

Every single Marvel movie so far: We’re introduced to a powerful alien artifact, that we’ll never really know too much about (unless you’re a comic nerd). We then have evil bad guy who wants the artifact to do evil bad guy stuff. And we have lovable, charming, romantic, funny, sarcastic hero that wants to save the day and contain the artifact.

Now, as Cliche as that plot is… It was used FOUR times.

I loved Ironman & Cap 2 (and Age of Ultron too from the looks of it) because they stray from that Cliche.
They were still predictable plots, but they were at least good predictable plots.

I think i’m really going to like Age of Ultron, and it’ll restore my faith in Marvel.
I have high expectations for Thanos, Civil War, and World War Hulk too, since they’re all plots that we’ve never seen on the big screen before.

Oh btw, Chris Evans only has a contract for 1 more movie.
    ****Comic Spoiler****
And since Cap 3 is going to be Civil War, he’s going to die at the end of it.
Winter Soldier and/or Falcon are going to take his place

  69. wingedlion October 23, 2014 at 2:27 pm -      #69

That’s not even a plot hole though.
Like, the entire plot of thor 2 was that all of the 9 realms are connecting with each other.

“You realize there’s thousands of “realistic” movie masterpieces out there right? Do you not watch any of them either? o.o
I never got people that don’t like something because it’s too realistic.”

That wasn’t what he was saying. of course there are many realistic masterpieces out their. but he’s saying that he doesn’t want to watch a superhero movie that try’s to be realistic.
And i can see where he’s coming from, because honestly, if i wanted to watch a realistic movie, there are much better options than superhero movies.

  70. wingedlion October 23, 2014 at 2:31 pm -      #70

“That’s not even a plot hole though.
Like, the entire plot of thor 2 was that all of the 9 realms are connecting with each other.”

I called it plot-convenience, not a plot hole.
So the 9 realms converging, somehow means that out of an ENTIRE REALM, they just happen to be in the EXACT same spot from the beginning of the movie? Where the chick happens to find her phone? And OH, it gets better! the convergence just happens to be mere minutes away from where the professor and the other chick is!
And OH, it gets EVEN BETTER, the professor just happens to have completely random science equipment… That he can use to CONTROL the convergence and warp the villains around?!?!?

That’s literally one of the biggest plot-conveniences in cinema history. And it’s just one of 20-30 examples in each Marvel movie.
It isn’t a plot-hole, but it’s just as bad in my eyes. My opinion is my own, you don’t need to share it.

“but he’s saying that he doesn’t want to watch a superhero movie that try’s to be realistic.”

Batman comics have always been realistic.
The only times he does silly PiS stuff is in the Justice League or Crossover comics.

He deals with Hulking animal people, kicks the heads off large exoskeletons, deals with ghost, supernatural monsters, has sidekicks coming back from the dead, done some time traveling, and had a child that was trained from three to be a deadly assassin and accomplishing that by the time he’s like eleven.

    Realistic in their theme, yes.
However, it is still a fictional comic.

In comparison forexample, there is no Marvel character even remotely close to being as thematically realistic.
Therefor it makes sense for the Batman movies to be the way that they are.
Would you have enjoyed batman going all Superhuman and beating up hundreds of people and giant monsters? (I must admit, it would be awesome to see, but the movie wouldn’t be nearly as good)

Funny, it’s the exact opposite for me. I’ve never understood why people complain when something’s not realistic enough.

I don’t not like something because of that, I just need a break from it constantly being around me all the time in my every day life, and that’s why I go to my entertain for.

“Pretty sure we were discussing the new generation movies.”

I figured DC vs Marvel movies in general. If it was new generation of films(I’m assuming from Blade forward?)then it’s kinda unfair to compare since Marvel has 35(including other films not necessarily just the MCU. Not including imprints though)to DC’s 18(including their imprints). In which case it’s not really fair to compare them since Marvel has almost twice the amount of films.
    =

If you go back and watch the movie, it makes sense. There are weak spots where the walls between the realms touch(sounds similar to string theory, actually), meaning all the realms exist in the same points of space for a brief time. For Earth, it was the warhouse in London. All the stuff dropped into the portal, including Jane’s cellphone, were passing through our reality into the next or just falling continuously through all realms depending on where they are when they pass through. The cave, being so close to the incursion point, would be no different than a room in the warehouse. Cellphone signals, radio/tv signals, etc, would act just as they would on Earth. She found her phone and she made a call since she’s still technically in cell phone range.

My only fault with T2TDW was why in the hell did Odin’s father hide the aether on Earth? That’s a terrible plan… put that shit inside the Destroyer.

I did think Loki became far more interesting in T2TDW, also. In fact I would say he was a hair better than TDK’s Joker.

IMO, BB is still the best CBM ever, while TDK is a good movie that is overrated because of that keith Ledger guys hilarious death.
