Richard Rahl Vs Lantano Garuwashi

Richard Rahl Vs Lantano Garuwashi

Suggested by Mason Ward

Richard Rahl (Sword of Truth), Seeker of Truth and the emperor of the New World versus Lantano Garuwashi, the greatest swordsman of the Night Angel series wielding a legendary blade.

Their battle would take place at the People’s Palace in D’Hara, and both fighters would be restricted to the magic of their swords (no using Wizard War traps or weapons with the exception of the Sword of Truth).

Who would win:

The Seeker of Truth or the winner of two thousand duels?

Okay I daresay you can color me intrigued in here.
I’d hope for the odds favoring Side B but I’ll try to grit my teeth if Side A walks out.

Not sure whether or not it’s a simple sword-fight or it’s a Life-or-Death Matter but either way this ought to be fun, no questions asked.

I know a bit about Rahl, but what can Lantano do? Can somebody post his feats?

This duel will end in a way that the victor decides.

Richard Rahl isn’t a pacifist by any means, but so long as Garuwashi poses no threat to his friends/family, he would be the one most likely to seek a peaceful resolution; Garuwashi is someone who values victory above all else and is a person whom only duels to the death as a general rule-finding a peaceful resolution would be difficult.

I hope you have fun with this, everybody 😉

Here is a haiku for you:

    Two men drawing blood
    Their heads bowed in reverence
    As they dance with death

“Winner of 2,000 duels”. All I gotta say is that is damn impressive

Initial bets on Rahl, a short Google search gave me little information about Lantano other than his sword was broken.

Ok so Richards sword allows him to channel his rage (or love) into it, making it nigh-indestructible, and allows it to cut through most things with ease.
He can also call upon the memories and combat skills of all the previous wielders of the sword… and if i remember correctly, hundreds (or thousands) of powerful wizards gave their lives to create it.

With his War Wizard magic, he can make lightning that kills thousands of people instantly, but i guess that isn’t allowed here.
With only his sword (and no other magic), he faced 30 blade masters to the death simultaneously (while surrounded in a circle), and beat all of them.
Blade Masters are people that literally just train from sunrise to sunset, and do nothing else besides eat & sleep,

For whatever it’s worth, Lantano is the most skilled among the sa’ceurai, with the sa’ceurai being the most skilled combatants in the country.
In the last book, the Khalidoran elites came out of 10:1 engagements against another nations best soldiers relatively unscathed, with the sa’ceurai finding 20:1 odds against said elites favourable.

I might be a little out on those ratios, it’s been awhile since I read the book, I remember thinking at the time those odds were ridiculous. I’ll try and find the numbers when I get home, as well as any battles featuring Lantano, probably just his duel against Kylar though.

    He doesn’t have many showings.
