Anime Group Battle

Anime Group Battle: Kinji Tohyama, Hei, Misaka Mikoto & Akatsuki Ousawa Vs Allen Walker, Ayumu Aikawa, Natsu Dragneel & Layfon Alseif

Brought to you by Kevin Friend

Huge friggin battle here!

TEAM ONE
Kinji Tohyama (Aria the Scarlet Ammo)
Hei (Darker than Black)
Misaka Mikoto (A Certain Scientific Railgun)
Akatsuki Ousawa (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero)

VS

TEAM TWO
Allen Walker (D Gray Man)
Ayumu Aikawa (Is that a Zombie?)
Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail)
Layfon Alseif (Chrome Shelled Regios)

Scenario: Match takes place in a training room at Japan’s BABEL High School, simulated to be a large and deserted construction site on a dark night but with lighting from the streetlights.

Notes:
-They all have their standard equipment, Akatsuki is given enough ADs (Special bands to focus powers) to create his sword.
-Everybody from both teams recognizes Ayumu is a guy. (probably won’t come up but if it does, you have an answer)
-Allen is unable to use Noah’s Ark.

Which side would win?

Wearing any highly conductive item in the presence of Hei is a horrifically bad idea.

Wait how did you post this Admin? I thought you are having surgery right now. Or did it finish already?

  3. admin July 9, 2014 at 9:08 am -      #3

@mack006 – Surgery was yesterday, and I can tell the site when to post the matches ahead of time.

I take it the surgery went as planned? Glad you’re ok

The only character I know here is Hei… so meh

Think I’m going to side with team 2 since thats the side with the most characters I’m at least familiar with.

I know about Layton alseif, and for a while he was my favorite anime character. He’s apparently a continent buster according to the light novel and damn near FTL. But that’s not what makes him a match with mid-tier DBZ Characters, It his his ability to mimic high level attacks by watching them once.

  7. Rookie July 9, 2014 at 12:03 pm -      #7

I’l side with team 2 for now. But I only know Allen and Natsu.

  8. Onibabalon123 July 9, 2014 at 12:11 pm -      #8

Layton albeit could spam roar kei and wipe out or severely damage Team 1. It’s sorta kinda like roar of Time (As you can tell I’m a Layfon fan boy)

    Zetta Karen Children?

I’m gonna need to go back and read some To Aru. Anyway, Misaka is from A Certain Magical Index, A Certain Scientific Railgun is a spinoff series where she is the main character, the manga/anime starts before Index does and has yet to catch up to the main series.
    +
In Railgun’s manga, Misaka has temporarily transformed into a Psudeo Level 6 Esper (a man made angel), which as far as I know is her most powerful form.
    +
Are we using her level 6 form, current incarnation of her spin off, or her current form in the main series from which she originates?

Layfon in my opinion is one of the best swordsmen in Anime. He knows certain techniques that can shatter his opponents sword by channelling his Kei into the enemy’s sword. He blade is made out of Adamantium. He also closed the distance between two cities ( about 300 meters) In about a second.

  11. Ragnorke July 9, 2014 at 3:47 pm -      #11

Did someone say one of the characters in near FTL? Doesnt that pretty much settle it?

  12. Commander Cross July 9, 2014 at 3:54 pm -      #12

Anybody got quotes on that if the Layfon Alseif of the Light Novels is intended?
That and is that the case for Layfon the minute he goes All-out from the get-go for that matter?

    ___

Either way, I’d give Anime or Early Novel!-Layfon good odds against Kharn the Betrayer from Warhammer 40,000 or maybe Angron from the same place, if it weren’t for the fact this site has far too many WH 40,000 fights in general for anyone’s tastes.

I knew Layfon is meant to be Powerful but YIKES!

    ____

As for Side A in general, Hei may have to get that Meteor Fragment I heard someone mention, and as for Mikoto Misaka from the ‘Certain’ Shows, well if Lina Inverse from Slayers debuted on the same month, it makes sense for Mikoto to follow suit.

Either way, Mikoto reminds me of someone familiar, no lies.

Anywho, Allen Walker was gonna appear on the site sooner or later, it happened to be later than I thought in fact.

It’s funny some of these guys look alike.
But I’ll side for team 2 but I’m only gonna stay in the sides.

Hey, my match was posted 😀 I was trying to make even teams though :(
Turns out I defeated myself, I was looking at anime Funimation had dubbed, which is why I couldn’t find certain characters I was looking for, oh well, Satan can show up another day.

About incarnations, I was planning to have latest incarnations all around, but I didn’t know Layfon went FTL and was a continent-buster. I knew he was stronger than he appeared in the anime but *damn*…
I’m open to advice for this, should I just call for everyone to be at the end of their anime appearances? I admit to not reading light novels/ manga that often, there’s nowhere to get them where I live.

I’ll try to summarize some of the less-known characters when I return from supper.

  17. Friendlysociopath July 9, 2014 at 9:57 pm -      #17

Okay, so short-ish summaries of characters that haven’t appeared around here before-
I don’t currently have the ability to link things, sorry about that.

    Team 1
Tohyama: Carries firearms and knives, his power is when a female is in danger or arouses him he enters ‘Hysteria Mode’ which makes his brain, strength, and his nerves 30 times improved than normal. He usually has a Beretta, modified to fire 3 round bursts, and a butterfly knife. In Hysteria Mode he has shots enemy bullets out of the air, wielded his knife at supersonic speed, and accurately fired bullets up the muzzle of several enemy guns at a time.
    +
Ousawa: Akatsuki has an ability called ‘Renkankei-kikou’ which allows him to manipulate the chi of himself and those around him. He is able to use his chi to grant himself immense physical strength and speed as well as control the organs of people he can make physical contact with. He has also used this chi to stop a sword from reaching him and to make an energy barrier around himself. He is also able to heal people with this ability. He creates a large sword using AD bands, the sword’s name is Laevateinn and it looks pretty damn cool if you ask me.

    Team 2
Alright, I assume others can step up for most of these guys so I’ll just give some info on Aikawa.
Aikawa: He is a zombie, he can recover from losing limbs and being cut in half, but he requires assistance in some cases in the form of people putting him together. As a zombie he can use the full potential of the human body, although this will destroy his body since it can’t handle the forces. He breaks his arm punching a giant crab. He does feel pain but he gets over it pretty quickly. While almost impossible to kill, enough damage has been shown to place him into a near comatose state where his body repairs itself but he doesn’t respond to outside stimuli. He also can absorb some magic, although the rules aren’t very clear about how it works. This magic absorption causes him to gain the weapon and power of a Masō-Shōjo, a magical garment girl. As such he can transform to gain increased strength and use of a chainsaw to fight. He mostly uses the magic purely to protect himself from sunlight, as he doesn’t have any training in how to use Masō-Shōjo powers.
He also has the hidden talent to breakdance.

For anyone interested, he lives with a Necromancer named Eucliwood Hellscythe that has so much power that if she speaks she literally warps reality. She has simply walked up to someone and told them to die, more than once.

Hey you’re not the only one who’s unaware of *just how powerful exactly* Layfon in the Light Novels really is, so unless the Anime versions of everyone was intended, then as far as I know
either give Hei a Meteor Fragment and allow Mikoto her Pseudo Level-6 Esper Form, or state that the Anime-versions of everyone is in play.

    ____

I want to make sure things are gonna be interesting, because one way or another there may be future fights in mind for either version of Layfon, and Misaka sounds so interesting that I don’t mind hearing her out, plus to the Admiral of Envoys she kind of reminds me of some lady named Thalia elsewhere.

I am finding it tempting whether or not to invite a veteran of most of the listed worlds from off-site over here or not, I’d rather they not lose their marbles and whatnot as an ‘Occupational Hazard’ this site has, to say the least.

Hell, from what I know of Layfon, him vs Eragon of Alagaesia sounds like fun actually, if you get what I mean. 😈
Provided Layfon gets the Heaven’s Blade Weapon of course for that instance.

  19. FlameStrike July 10, 2014 at 1:04 am -      #19

Lmao, did Kinji and Misaka end up in the same team so Kinji has someone to “activate” his Hysteria mode? XDD I mean she has the right body type for his preferences HAHAHA.

Also for Layton, I’m pretty sure he’s not intended to be godlike in this match up. The poster prob meant for him to be in his anime power levels.

  20. Friendlysociopath July 10, 2014 at 3:24 pm -      #20

    Alright, to be perfectly clear;
*Everyone from both teams is limited to their latest anime version for their powers and equipment.*

  21. Onibabalon123 July 10, 2014 at 3:31 pm -      #21

Layfon gives Team 2 Air superiority with his katana-Heaven Blade’s combination. As I said Anime Layfon had the ability to close the gap between two moving cities in a matter of seconds. And was only matching Haia in power, The moment he got serious Gaia nearly got slashed in half.

  22. Belisaurius July 10, 2014 at 4:31 pm -      #22

Alright, a battle in which I recognize 7 out of the 8 combatants. Don’t know about Ousawa though.

I’m going to focus on the heavy hitters first, Mikoto, Hei, Natsu, and Loyfon. Allen would count as a heavy hitter but the majority of his attacks are melee only and he’s no tougher than any normal human. I mean, yest he can go 13th noah but everybody looses if he goes 13th noah.

Mikoto has the firepower to keep up with Natsu and Loyfon but taking on both would be taxing. Hei has the agility to dodge Dragoneel’s attacks (helps he calls them out) and skillful enough to keep up with Loyfon. While Loyfon definitely has skills on par with Hei he’s not much of a tactician. Loyfon tends to just run in and devastate his opponents with overwhelming power. Likewise, Natsu also relies on raw power rather than cleverness.

Mikoto is arguably the most dangerous despite not quite being as powerful as Natsu (probably) because she’s endlessly inventive with her power. She can magnetize herself to be pulled to any metal surface she chooses or can create enough of a static charge to cling to concrete. Her signature railgun is enough to force a coin through armored vehicles. Defensively, the Railgun can pull metal debris or iron sand together as a shield. She’s been known to deflect non-metallic shrapnel away from her with electro-magnetism. and detect objects by using static and magnetic forces.

Hei has been fighting super powered foes with nothing but his wits, rope, and agility for years. His coat is bullet proof and his knives have pierced cement. A lifetime of experience as an assassin has made Hei sharp and clever and as a result no obvious attack has much of a chance of touching him.

The key here is that both Mikoto and Hei have the ability to evade their opponents long enough to form a plan and have the intelligence to out maneuver their foes. Neither Layfon nor Natsu have the intelligence to counter this.

Kinji doesn’t have much going for him. He’s calm under pressure and is a very good shot. However, that’s enough to take on Allen Walker. While Allen’s Clown Crown gives him some protection it doesn’t cover everywhere. As such, Kinji can shoot him in non-vital areas and wait for him to bleed out. It’s likely that Allen’s innocence will attempt to revive him but that still means Allen will be KO for the match.

Aikawa is strong and doesn’t die but he’s a clumsy fighter whose main strength is stealing other people’s powers. He’s more or less to Kinji’s bullets but if he wanders into the wrong fight he’s going to end up either stabbed, burned, hacked, tased, or any combination thereof.

I wish I knew more about Ousawa but from the sound of it he’s a pretty good martial artist which is enough to give Kinji some cover.

  23. Ranger Lowk July 10, 2014 at 5:06 pm -      #23

But what about the Large AoE attacks? Natsu has shown just from punching that his radius is aat the least around the size of a small house?
And he seems capable of calling them out during the attack

Beside it’d really only help in letting him know he’s going to attack. he wouldn’t know what the attack is until afterwards. Which can be dangerous in its own right since he might think he’s doing some short range attack when instead he pulls out a long range on.

  24. Onibabalon123 July 10, 2014 at 5:10 pm -      #24

Layfon also has impressive durability, tanking several hill-busting attacks from an electric-spirit powered Safaris. He then proceeded to sent safaris to the moon in one shot.

  25. Ragnorke July 10, 2014 at 5:11 pm -      #25

So I take it the FTL claim was bullshit? Caus I dont see how this match can continue if a character is FTL…. he would Rofl stomp.

  26. Onibabalon123 July 10, 2014 at 5:14 pm -      #26

I meant to say he was sub-relavistic But I had another character in mind (The Queen) who was FTL. He’s still pretty formidable.

  27. Ragnorke July 10, 2014 at 5:23 pm -      #27

“I meant to say he was sub-relavistic”

This should… technically still be fast enough to roflstomp…
Can you please provide the speed feat you are using to make this claim? i’m sorta curious.

  28. Friendlysociopath July 10, 2014 at 5:33 pm -      #28

@Ranger, I picture Natsu running straight at the biggest threat he can see- which would probably be Ousawa, I mean look at his weapon.

    hagure.wikia.com/wiki/Laevateinn

Which is a bit of a mistake, since Ousawa can definitely tank a Natsu hit before either just cutting him in half or even punching him, I think his punches are about as strong as Natsu’s too. Any physical contact Ousawa makes with an opponent gives him an opening to use his chi to control their organs, which he has used to paralyze people before.

I feel a little bad whenever Natsu appears, CIS is a bitch when your SOP is “I’m gonna charge in and punch that guy!” (insert beating noise of your choice)

  29. Ranger Lowk July 10, 2014 at 5:50 pm -      #29

“Which is a bit of a mistake, since Ousawa can definitely tank a Natsu hit before either just cutting him in half or even punching him, I think his punches are about as strong as Natsu’s too.”

Any example of durability. I’d probably look myself but kind of already trying to finish a book and a manga and don’t feel like adding anything to the list right now.
    ===
“I feel a little bad whenever Natsu appears, CIS is a bitch when your SOP is “I’m gonna charge in and punch that guy!”

To be fair he uses explosions to add velocity to his punches and explosions to his impacts while covering himself with fire.

If I make heat that could cause metal to melt from my touch and coat my entire body in it I’d probably act the same way.

  30. Belisaurius July 10, 2014 at 6:06 pm -      #30

    @Ranger Lowk

To your first reply, Hei has rope that he’s used to pull himself away at impressive speeds.

As for Natsu, thermodynamics is working against him. The density of the air is so low and the density of projectiles tends to be so high that it won’t melt before hitting him. Besides, if Mikoto can lift him with iron sand he’d get motion sickness and be useless for the remainder of the fight.

  31. Friendlysociopath July 10, 2014 at 6:20 pm -      #31

    “Any example of durability.”

I feel like posting an entire episode of the anime and saying he does it ‘here’ is not good form… I might get into making AMVs again just so I have short videos to post around here.
Huh, actually durability is hard to show, he rarely gets hit in the anime, he’s pretty fast, (It’s this kind of anime) he steals the bra and panties of a good 10+ girls so fast that you don’t even see him move.

This would probably be best for durability,
    www.animefreak.tv/watch/hagure-yuusha-no-estetica-episode-12-online

He tanks that dragon’s attack that blasts a good bit of forest in the start- oh, this might help, his motorcycle has over 16,000,000 horsepower and he rides it at this speed, doesn’t that make his body pretty durable to handle the G-force of that?
He also stops a sword from reaching him by using his chi but I don’t know whether that’s durability or

  32. Friendlysociopath July 10, 2014 at 6:23 pm -      #32

Awaiting moderation, well I suppose I should’ve expected that one for mentioning his main way of showing off speed…

Okay, short version for durability- he tanks a dragon-breath blast that levels a good chunk of forest and he rides a motorcycle that has over 16,000,000 horsepower and is supposed to break the sound barrier, that would make his body pretty resistant to stress.

He has also used his chi control to stop a sword from reaching his throat.

  33. Ranger Lowk July 10, 2014 at 6:30 pm -      #33

“To your first reply, Hei has rope that he’s used to pull himself away at impressive speeds.”

I don’t recall it being anywhere fast enough to pull him away from explosions and not going to really help with the ranged attacks. Not much cover around that Natsu can blast through or heat up to the point that landing on it probably isn’t a good idea. And again that implies that he knows what type of attack Natsu is going for.
    ===
“As for Natsu, thermodynamics is working against him. The density of the air is so low and the density of projectiles tends to be so high that it won’t melt before hitting him.”

Are we still talking about Hei because I don’t recall him using projectiles besides the knife.
Do you recall what chapter had Natsu vs the blocky guy with the guns, not sure but I think he might have been taken a shot from high speed projectile and lived?
    ===
“Besides, if Mikoto can lift him with iron sand he’d get motion sickness and be useless for the remainder of the fight.”

Couldn’t he vaporize due to the small size of the sand and how hot he can get via Natsu covering himself in fire?
Also I thought that was on vehicles, that seems like it be more comparable to flying with happy or using his flames for thrust.

  34. Onibabalon123 July 10, 2014 at 6:34 pm -      #34

  35. FlameStrike July 10, 2014 at 8:11 pm -      #35

Does Ousawa get his motorcycle? If he does he could just put Natsu on it and take the Dragon Slayer out of the fight XD.

As for durability feats, he has tanked a full on Meteor Storm spell made by one of the strongest mages of that world. Here’s the relevant novel excerpt:

“Akatsuki unconsciously lifted his head and looked at the sky. Zechs jumped back a certain distance, then lifted his head and looked at the object that Akatsuki was staring at. The object that appeared above the stage seemed like a burning rocky mountain. It was also one of Listy’s so-called combination magics that used a combination of fire and earth elements, and one of the most powerful type as well.

“When have you guys start preparing for this type of insane magic……?”
    —–
“——Let’s see where you can run!”

After saying this, Zechs swung his crimson sword, aiming at the rocky mountain, and furiously hacked it.

The huge burning rocky mountain was hacked into multiple pieces.

    “It’s finished now, Akatsuki ——“

The crimson sword was raised up high in the air and swung down at a amazing speed.

The multiple burning rock pieces fell towards the ground at the same time, as if it was a powerful meteor shower.

The intense impact and the high temperate flames mercilessly devoured Akatsuki.

    ——It was too tragic.

The audience all had this idea emerge at the same time. Everyone believed that the outcome of the duel must have been decided.

However, the audience did not know that the ultimate technique which the trio had shown off was originally intended to defeat the demon king Galious. But Galious had been unexpectedly defeated by Akatsuki alone, so the destructive ultimate technique had been sealed since then. The trio did not think that the first victim of this ultimate technique would actually be Akatsuki; the pain and struggle could naturally be imagined.

After a period of time, the flames on the stage disappeared. The flames created by the explosion depleted the oxygen around Akatsuki. Although the black smoke temporarily obscured the sight of the audience, after a while it slowly began to dissipate.

The audience at the scene witnessed the results of the trio’s amazing magic attack.

Countless rocks had fallen from the sky, and the stage was filled with large and small craters.

The raging fire even burnt the ground on the stage to black.

Even suffering a powerful attack that could almost destroy the heavens and the earth, a youth was still standing in front of the audience. At this moment, the audience could not help but respond with warm applauses and cheers.

The target of these applause and cheers was, of course, Akatsuki with a confident smile. ”

His ability can absorb his opponents energy and turn it into his own power. That’s part of how he was able to tank the meteor storm without any damage.

For the rest of the fighters.. hmm. I think Kinji could disable Aikawa with a few well placed bullets. It won’t put him down for good, but it’ll render him ineffective while he regens. That should be enough time for someone with more firepower to finish him off. I don’t know about Allen though, but I heard he can be killed or disabled with bullets as well.

It’ll be up to the heavy hitters on each team in the end though. Mikoto and Ousawa vs Natsu and Fonfon is what I’m seeing. Hei would be much more powerful if he had a metor fragment, but otherwise I can’t see him taking out someone like Natsu or Layfon.

  36. seradon July 10, 2014 at 8:31 pm -      #36

Isn’t Allen seemingly useless if the opponent isn’t an Akuma or similar? I remember that being mentioned for how the true form of his Crown Clown worked. Then again, it’s been ages since I last checked out D-Grayman.

  37. Belisaurius July 10, 2014 at 10:01 pm -      #37

    @ Ranger Lowk

Considering the massive windup that Natsu takes and Hei’s extensive experience with supernatural foes I’d say Hei starts dodging before Natsu even attacks.

Considering the hardness and brittleness of Hei’s knives I’d say that they’re made from ceramics. If this is the case, then the heat needed to vaporize the blade would turn the ground beneath Natsu’s feet to lava.

Remember, Mikoto could move iron sand so fast that it cut through flesh like butter. As for Natsu’s motion sickness, I remember him getting sick from hanging onto a giant worm. The definitions of what is and is not a vehicle are quite vague.

    @Seradon

Going to have to look that up again.

“Considering the hardness and brittleness of Hei’s knives I’d say that they’re made from ceramics. If this is the case, then the heat needed to vaporize the blade would turn the ground beneath Natsu’s feet to lava.”

Natsu can dodge or parry a knife throw though. Thats why I was a bit confused. That’s probably the least effective projectile team to could throw at him.

“Remember, Mikoto could move iron sand so fast that it cut through flesh like butter.”

That I did not know. Never really got into railgun. Only knew here by the basics. That said Natsu durability is pretty good considering some of the stuff he’s been hit with and kept going.

“As for Natsu’s motion sickness, I remember him getting sick from hanging onto a giant worm. The definitions of what is and is not a vehicle are quite vague.”

I think the perquisite is that he has to at least be riding it. So would she be holding him up sort of tk style with the iron or would she be making a platform?

Found it Natsu was shoot point blank. Granted it hurt but considering where he was shot that should speak on his body’s durability.

Also Second scan gives a good example of how much of an AoE Natsu can have and that he also seems to push stuff with it. So he should be capable of blasting some projectile away just as a byproduct of attacking.

Alright, I conceed that Hei dodging Natsu is less plausible than once thought but I do believe that Dragoneel will be otherwise occupied by the girl throwing lighting and the guy with a bike that has an output greater than entire countries.

As for Natsu’s motion sickness, the railgun can either trick Natsu onto a metal surface or carve out a chunk of the ground Natsu was standing on and lift it with metal sand.

Just some notes on Misaka’s railgun technique, her normal range is limited to about 50 meters or so due to the projectile disintegrating from air resistance. This puts the “muzzle velocity” at re-entry speed range of mach 20-30. The range limitation is actually due to Mikoto’s favored projectiles, arcade tokens, and she’s demonstrated being able to use far heavier objects like giant robot claws and cockpits. I’m estimating her upper limits of projectile mass at about one ton although the only evidence for this is that she hasn’t launched anything heavier. It’s difficult to assign a maximum limit due to the fact that the only opponent she couldn’t overcome with raw power was another level five esper known as Meltdowner and even then the blame can be cast by the fact Mikoto hadn’t slept for two nights before that.

Say, uh, Natsu’s eaten lightning before, right?

“believe that Dragoneel will be otherwise occupied by the girl throwing lighting and the guy with a bike that has an output greater than entire countries.”

But Natsu’s not the only guy fighting and natsu can eat lightning to power up.

That might work for Natsu both due to his fact that heated metal isn’t that big of a deal for him
    i8.mangareader.net/fairy-tail/3/fairy-tail-159818.jpg
In which case all he would have to worry about is the impact.
And Natsu can take some pretty solid hits. Like stings hit that caused a large explosion

This could just be how I see it, but isn’t Natsu only able to eat things that are magical? As in specifically it must be magic? Maka uses esper powers, which may or may not swing enough for elemental capability to allow him to eat her attacks.

In either case, railgun’s force >>> handgun bullets, by a lot. Also, I confess to getting tired of the Index series, how far has Misaka progressed along that timeline since it is her most chronologically advanced anime appearance?

Layfon is really the greatest threat of team 2, Natsu is strong and really durable, but he’s also very easy to lead; something Hei and Hysteria Mode Kinji are extremely able to capitalize on.

For that matter, Hei doesn’t need the meteor fragment to do badass things-

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODNDbxPCSkA&list=PLAA99435F076D77A3&index=25

Around 16:30 it starts, and a little after 21:00 you see what Hei did. With a meteor fragment Hei frigging murders since he just causes a 1500 km radius area to disappear apparently on accident/no effort.

FFS- it posted the link to the entire playlist didn’t it? I only meant to post episode 25.

I called for everyone’s powers and equipment to chronologically stop at the end of their anime, just to keep things fair for both teams. This means anything they did beforehand is still relevant, but after their anime ends/hasn’t caught up their feats do not count, otherwise Layfon is terrifying.

    @Oni, regarding this rule- proof?

Regarding Natsu and motion sickness, the rules say they do not know this weakness, although Natsu probably says it at some point during the battle, he’s weird like that.

I dont understand how Hei would lead him. I mean the guys like murder Batman acrobatic wise but that kind of fail when Natsu can blanket the entire area he’s in. Besides that his most common mean of attack is pretty much useless while at the same time damning him to use since is fastest means of escape is used with the dagger and string.

  53. Nerazim July 14, 2014 at 4:47 pm -      #53

*stretches* it’s been like… a year and a half, no? i come on and i see this (Mikoto’s debut, yaaaaaaay) :3

well, i know everyone from team 1, and natsu and layfon from team 2 (and a bit of aikawa).

as previously stated, kinji has, in hysteria mode, 30 times the nervous responsiveness of his normal state (which is already not too shabby, for a reg person). as such, his most useful characteristic in this scenario would, i think, be his tactical thinking, since everyone else i know is OtT in general combat performance.
also, limiting the characters to their latest anime appearances limits kinji to hysteria normale, without hysteria mode’s agonizante, berserk or king modes (of which, i think beserk would be the most powerful in the given case).
    – can we at least get kinji up to volume 5/6 in the light novels? since the anime only covers around the first 3?
otherwise, what we have in terms of feats are:
    ~shooting bullets into the mouths of opponents’ guns, up to a shown limit of 7, i believe (i don’t recall any instance in the anime after the first segway chase incident in which this occurs);
    ~slicing an approaching bullet in half with his butterfly knife (against Butei Killer/Riko in end of vol 1(can’t remember anime episode, probably 3/4);
    ~two fingered sword catching (against Durandal/Jeanne in end of vol 2);
~so called “Billiard Shot”, where he hits another person’s bullets with his own to deflect them, like a billiard ball and a cue ball.
most of these get stronger/better or are derived to make new feats later on.

Mikoto, while having the movement speed of a regular “fast” person, is able to manipulate electricity (and through electricity, magnetism) as an esper ability, to a (current) maximum output of 1 billion volts (quoted from volume 3 chapter 3, end of part 2: “In that instant, an electric spear appeared from Mikoto’s bangs.

The largest voltage of the lightning created in nature was 1 billion volts.

Mikoto could rival that.”), and has been known (much later on, though) to hold her own against a Saint of the science side, so we can infer that the Level 5 rating of the science side is analogous to the Saint classification of the Magic side (inferring that Level 6 is analogous to Angel class as well, but then, all three pseudo Level 6 status that have been referred to have wings, so…).
~her railgun fires metal (or mostly metal) objects at three times the speed of sound. while she usually uses arcade coins, which limits her range to 50 meters, she has been shown in Railgun season one to use piece of a destroyed mecha, which greatly increased the destructive power and and range before the projectile burned out:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxbcOLfPu08 (skip to 3:30 if you don’t care for the whole thing).
she has also hinted, but not shown, that she can fire multiple coins at once, like a shotgun, i guess (can’t recall where, though).
~she can create EM pulses (duh) and direct them at organs.
~she can shoot lightning (generally from her forehead, but from her hands and stuff too).
~she can generate lightning strikes (as in from the sky, not her body) pwerful enough to black out an entire district (and each district is in itself the size of a city).
~electromagnetism to make shields/projectiles, as well as walk on walls/ceilings where there is enough magnetically conductive material (and this is a construction site, so there should be a lot of metal around).
~she can make a sword of iron filings, which vibrate at a high frequency and pretty much cuts through stuff like a saw. this can be extended to a whip of sorts. iirc, her swordsmanship alone isn’t that bad either.
~she can “see” a room without her eyes by computing EM waves and pulses that she encounters/releases and their re/de-flections and refractions. she can also visually see (or, something like that) the passage of electricity and lines of magnetism around her (range ungiven, also implied to be something that she does unconciously). she has a heightened spatial sense.
~the EM barrier of her AIM field shields her against telepathy (are there any telepaths in here? i don’t think so, ut i’ll put this in anyway). this is shown in her interactions with Shokuhou Masaki (hope i spelt that right) and in the sixth arc of railgun (when they were supposed to evacuate, but neither her nor kamijou heard the telepathic anouncement, and kazakiri and index just ignored it).
i think we’re obviously going to ignore her Level 6 Shift form from the railgun manga (OP as f*ck too) and her pseudo Level 6 form the Toaru Railgun SS: Liberal Arts City, right?

Hei… i don’t know that much about Hei except that he’s agile and has electricity… something… on his blades (i really need to rewatch Darker than Black)…
i don’t think i can add to what was said about ousawa akatsuki, and i’m not familiar with layfon’s anime specs (i’m more of an LN guy, so…) although i know they’re significantly reduced…

  54. Nerazim July 14, 2014 at 4:54 pm -      #54

Well, Fonfon at light novel level is ungodly, as is Mikoto. I was trying to find a more even ground, so just calling ‘only anime feats’ seemed like the best way.

As for the video where she uses the mech piece- that actually ‘might’ give her decent durability as well, that claw attack punctures concrete and she doesn’t seem to be broken from jumping on it like a normal person would be.

I’ve heard Hei described as an anime batman, he’s peak human in every aspect except perhaps strength; mainly because I don’t ever recall him punching someone or actually using strength in any way. The description of contractors specifically says all of them reach peak human levels just by being contractors. His power is he can alter matter at the molecular and even quantum level- which he mostly uses to just charge electricity through his body or anything that conducts electricity. Given a meteor fragment, he’s capable of destroying a 1500 radius zone without any effort. Even without the fragment, he manages to change every atom in another 1500 radius area, he also drains enough electricity to shut down a military base. And, as others have said, he’s really *really* good at figuring out how to counter other superpowers.

Aikawa is decently strong as well, I can’t find a clip but he punches the ground and destroys a hill so hard he leaves a crater where the hill was- that’s fairly early on in the series too. He isn’t durable at all but he recovers from anything other than just massacring his entire body into separate bits.

  56. Nerazim July 27, 2014 at 3:23 pm -      #56

@Friendly: i think i remember that bit with Aikawa… does he get to go into Maso Shoujo mode and go to 1000% power and all that crap?

Also, i’m not sure about that durability in general terms. it could just be that because it was metallic, she was able to manipulate her approach speed or the force of the impact to lessen the damage (which, may or may not add as a feat? it’s not said or shown, so… dunno)
